Captain Log – Stardate: Unknown. We have arrived in orbit of a planet similar to earth called Genesis where high energy readings are coming from a single structure on the planet's surface. T'Stala and I are leading a science team to study the tower and discover what strange force has pulled us here.
Four blue lights appeared inside the Downward Spiral. Leading them dressed in gold and black were Captain Yalea Emris of the USS Midori. Once they were solid inside the tower Yalea took out her tricorder and began scanning the area around her with the others. They were in a large room with silver tile floors, matching walls and ceiling. To their right led to a staircase to the rooftop of the tower and to their left another staircase that led down to the floor below this one. And what a long climb to the bottom it was. Sky blue eyes found their way to the walls where various symbols carved in the walls drawn in linked shapes like circles and squares with a blue stream of energy flowing through them were present. The energy matching the readings they picked up on their scans back at the ship.
“T'Stala, come take a look at this,” said the captain. “The language of an ancient alien civilization or mere chicken scratches?”

“I do not believe a chicken's foot is strong enough to penetrate the stone wall.”
Explained T'Stala, the captain's joke completely going over her head as she joined Yalea's side to observe the strange symbols found on the wall.
“I believe if we follow the energy stream we can find the source of the abnormality nearby.”

“I do not believe a chicken's foot is strong enough to penetrate the stone wall.”
“No... Of course not.”
“I believe if we follow the energy stream we can find the source of the abnormality nearby.”
“Follow the yellow brick road.”
Yalea turned left and walked, motioning for the two other science officers to follow them while she continued the scans. At the end of the symbols were a doorway, crossing its threshold the captain led her crewmen to a pool of blue energy unlike anything they have ever seen before. In the face of the energy the tricorder's readings went off the scales until the device exploded and Yalea was forced to drop it, watching it burn away and cease once it fell into the pool.

“Fascinating.”
Came T'Stala eventual response to witnessing the captain's tricorder being destroyed and falling into the pool of energy. Putting her own away as she carefully walked up to the ledge of the pool and crouched down to get a closer look at the energy.
“It would appear that this is the source of the tower's power but without further analysis I cannot be certain.”

“There isn't going to be further analysis if our tricorders can't scan it.”
Yalea turned to the other two science officers.
“Go back into the other room and resume scans of the symbols outside where our tricorders will be more of use.”
The two nodded and then left Yalea and T'Stala alone in the chambers.
“What are you thinking?”

T'Stala stood up and walked back over to Yalea.
“We may be able to scan it from the safety of the ship's computers.”

“We may be able to scan it from the safety of the ship's computers.”
“You do of course realize that what happened to the tricorder could happen to the ship.”

“If you'd prefer I can take a shuttle around orbit and perform my scans from there but I am confident that the ship's power and overall distance will provide for a safe analysis of the phenomenon.”

“I'm not prepared to have you risk your life for some scans, in a space shuttle or otherwise. Not until we learn more of what we're dealing with.”

“Your concerns are illogical, Captain. At the end of the day I am but one crewman and I am ready to die in my duty.”

“Your concerns are illogical, Captain. At the end of the day I am but one crewman and I am ready to die in my duty.”
“I'm not. We'll continue our exploration of the rest of the tower and see what else we can find out first. That's an order.”
“Captain! We found something!”
Yalea shared a glance with T'Stala before running out of the room and across the hall to an old yet technological advanced console that controlled a strange doorway that possessed a faint yellow glow that filled it.
“It seems to be some kind of doorway, Captain.”
“Where do you think it leads?” she asked T'Stala.

“As you wish, Captain.”
Upon hearing the other science officers, T'Stala followed Yalea out of the chambers and into what appeared to be a console room. Impressed by the sight before her as she walked up to the console to examine it.
“Amazing. The exterior would suggest that this is centuries old and yet the technology here is easily on par with ours in every way.”

Yalea followed T'Stala to the console looking it over over the Vulcan's shoulder as she spoke.
“Do you think you can operate it?”

T'Stala examined the console closely at the captain's question. It was not too unlike some of the computers from their universe and yet it had many different buttons, functions and symbols that she couldn't translate which invited danger in operating it. She pushed up a couple of the levers and turned some knobs. The machine powered on and the doorway up ahead now showed a green valley on the other side. As if becoming a threshold into another world. The science officers tricorders were already out to scan and T'Stala followed suit while getting closer to the doorway.
“It's as we expected, Captain. This doorway leads directly into another universe. Where exactly I cannot say nor would I advise crossing through it at this time.”

Yalea approached the doorway as a valley appeared on the other end. Her eyes looking over to see the clear blue skies, gentle wind and vast area of green. It was hard to believe that with a simple step forward they could cross the barrier of dimensions as easy as it was to step into their quarters but it was not unheard of. Captain Picard and his crew had seen similar but nothing on this wild of scale.
“Can you change it?”
