Test your Might [Chapter XIX]

[Garrus Vakarian]

After taking behind cover Wrex threw a grenade in the direction of a small group of demons that were getting close to the nexus, blowing most of them away allowing the Krogan Battlemaster to open fire taking out the rest as he rolled to a piece of cover across his position allowing himself to get closer to where the nexus was so he was at a better vantage point to take out the threats.

[Cloud]

There would be another small and condense group break for the nexus but they would not get far. Cloud blocked their path but they still came. With a sight he brought his sword up to his face and thrusted forward with a jet of power enveloping him. The Sonic Rave attack hit their group midcenter, impaling one of the demons upon his blade. He swung the blade once he was behind the group to throw off the remains of the demon that had been impaled on his blade.

He would then repeat the process, picking up speed as he impaled one demon after another. One would only see a blur of red, blue, steel, and yellow as he moved back and forth across the group, over and over again until there was nothing left.

[Kragen]

The sound of a blade meeting flesh could be heard before the head of the tarkatan flew through the air and crashed into the ground beneath Deadpool's feet as the Merc with a Mouth stood tall with his twin blades held high.

"That's for ruining my character in the movie, Fox!"

[Garrus Vakarian]

Urdnot Wrex
Quit playing around!

The krogan yelled at Deadpool. Wrex continued to fire at the demon army up ahead until his attention was taken away by a portal opening up to his right and coming out of it was a large centaurian who now opposed the Krogan Battlemaster.

Urdnot Wrex
This just got interesting.

[Kragen]

"Who's playing? That was retribution. Whoa!"

Deadpool looked over to the beast that came out of a portal by Wrex's position. Firing off from his guns a couple of more times he made quick work of some lesser demons still running towards him before coming up at Wrex's side and drawing his twin blades.

"We must be getting close to the end. He's the guy you face right before the final boss."

[Garrus Vakarian]

Urdnot Wrex
Right. Whatever you say.

The Krogan Battlemaster unloaded upon the centaurian now in his path but to his surprise the bullets reflected off the creature's skin and ran right back into his kinetic barriers. The beast then followed up by charging up an energy blast from the tip of his tail and launching it at the two. Forcing Wrex to roll out of the way or be caught up in the blast. The centaur was on him in an instant, hitting him with his front two feet and knocking him several feet into the air and crashing against the ground.

This was going to be a problem.

[Kragen]

Deadpool leaped in the opposite direction that Wrex had rolled in to get out of the way of the blast. Now that the enemy had focused all of their attention on Wrex, he was feeling left out. To make up for this the Merc with a Mouth charged up behind the centaur's position and brought his blades down to slice his rear.

[Garrus Vakarian]

The centaurian's two front hooves touched the ground and then pressed down against the ground, lifting up his back feet to knock Deadpool away from his rear at the same time charging another energy blast from his tail and releasing it after the kick to the mutant's chest. When Wrex got up he quickly got out of reach of the centaur's arms and super charged himself before ramming directly into the centaur getting in a power struggle where both sides refused to budge an inch.

[Kragen]

Deadpool flew fifteen feet through the air, hit the ground, rolled and then jumped back to his feet with his sword raised. Running back towards the centaur while he was busy with Wrex, meaning his guard was down and he wouldn't have expected Deadpool to bounce back so soon after a kick like that. He jumped and then landed on his back proceeding to ride him like a horse.

"Yippie kay yay!"

Using his free hand to hold onto a horn while his other hand brought the sword's blade down to slice through his skull.

[Garrus Vakarian]

The centaur responded just in time by lifting itself up on its bottom legs to knock Deadpool off his back. This allowed the Krogan Battlemaster to super charge to power through to his lower body inflicting moderate damage to his body. At last they were getting somewhere.

[Gabrielle]

Gabrielle came out of the nexus with Sincara over her shoulder unconscious, fighting through the demons that were still in the area blocking their path. They didn't have any time to get caught up in a prolonged battle with these creatures and soon it wouldn't matter as the Netherrealm was being destroyed and they felt their spirits being freed from the orders they were given. As she ran the Traveling Bard looked over to find a centaur that Wrex and Deadpool were doing battle with.
"Well that brings back memories."

[Ayen]

"Well that brings back memories."

“Is now really a good time to be feeling nostalgic?” asked Zora.

Zora knocked the demons that blocked their path back with her wand in order to clear a path. She didn't care much for helping the others who were combating the demon army. Selfish as it may be she was more interested in getting out of here as quickly as possible. With another potential attack being aimed at Kari Zora hoped that Gabrielle wouldn't feel they had time to make any pit stops either.

[Kragen]

Deadpool fell off the centaur's back and onto the ground but that only put the Merc with a Mouth in an ideal position to slash at the back hooves of the beast after getting up in a crotch.

[Garrus Vakarian]

With its front hooves held up by Wrex and the bottom being attacked by Deadpool's sword it was unable to keep its balance and lost the power struggle with the Krogan Battle master as it fell over onto the side and Wrex remained on the offensive getting up on top of the beast and punching it repeatedly with his fist.

[Gabrielle]

It didn't look like Deadpool and Wrex needed their help, which was good for them as they didn't have any time to lose right now. The Traveling Bard ran straight pass them and continued towards the exit of the city. They needed to get Sincara treated and warn Kari of a possible second demon attack as quickly as possible.
