Test your Might [Chapter XIX]

[Cloud]

Cloud gritted his teeth as he watched the action below. This man was increadably powerful, maybe too much for him to handle. However the Alien and the... well.. assassin he could hold out if not defeat, or at least in his opinion. Soon the three enemies became five and the others began to retreat save for the two newcomers.

Cloud landed next to them and held his blade ready to help. "I shall assist", said to Demetrios as he shot a Thunder spell at the one wielding an assault rifle.

[Sincara]

"You're an idiot."

She stated to Gabrielle as she was carried. Poison or not, carried or not, Sincara was far from helpless. Extending her right arm forward she aimed the barrel of the revolver and readied herself to open fire at any of the opposition that dare stood in their way.

[Ayen]

"Just do it!"

Zora aimed the wand at the tip of the stick and said, “Incendio.” A small red flame coming out and lighting the edge of the stick before she lowered the wand and went to stand lookout.

"I come with a change of plan. We're going to lend our friends in Kari a helping hand... by destroying the Netherrealm from within."

"And how do you plan to do that?"

“Gabrielle, look out!”

Zora barely had any time to warn Gabrielle about the Omega Beams and if it wasn't for Demetrios Sincara would be dead right now.

"Take your companions and get through that gate. We'll be right behind you."

He wouldn't have to say it twice as Gabrielle picked up Sincara again and raced for the demon seal, Zora close behind them with her wand at the ready to assist Sincara in her firing of any enemies that stood between them and the Netherrealm.

[Kragen]

It was Deadpool's turn to duck behind cover to avoid the arcing lightning bolts and the shots from Sincara's gun and the magic projectiles by the witch. Once the course was clear Deadpool popped back up firing upon Demetrios again to keep him busy allowing for either Darkseid or Garrus to take a shot at the Kari team as they got closer to their position near the nexus.

[DC Comics]

Darkseid set his gaze upon Sincara, seeing the Life Force from within her body slowly fading away as the poison took its toll on her. Now was his time to end the woman forever before beginning his take over of this realm. He already mastered free will, now he needed an army and a means to get his body back into this reality or find a superior vessel. Darkseid walked right into the bullets and the volts, the corpse continuing to move regardless as he held up his hand and started to drain Sincara's Life Force as his minions covered him.

[Garrus Vakarian]

The pillar Wrex took cover behind was smashed by Demetrios' attack forcing Wrex in the open but only for a moment as the Krogan Battlemaster moved behind a barricade set up by the Netherrealm just in time to avoid the thunder spell before pulling himself up and firing a couple more shots aimed at Gabrielle.

[Madara Uchiha]

Mukuro nodded at the mysterious man, and ran towards Gabrielle.

"Just let me know what you need me to do"

Now, he just needed a way to help them escape, for now. Using his illusions, he formed about twenty five of the the lizards that shot acid within the buildings. They began to run out, and shoot acid towards the man in red, the alien, and the really tall blue guy that tried to shoot lightning out of his eyes at the. If the people didn't know that they were illusions, they bodies would react to the acid as if they were real. However, if they figured it out, they would do absolutely nothing to them. Mukuro awaited orders from Gabrielle.

[Gabrielle]

"Follow me," replied Gabrielle to Madara.
The Battling Bard of Potidaea continued to run straight ahead even as Darkseid blocked their path. Bending her legs and hunching down, Gabrielle launched herself into the air and jumped over the man giving Sincara the perfect shot at him overhead.

[Sincara]

Weakness overtook her body, bringing her closer to death but through a sheer act of will she kept the Six Shooter in her hand held up. Sincara took this time to charge her revolver with all the remaining strength she had left. Uniting black magic, white magic and the energy she attained during her visit at the spiral all into one single burst and raining it all down upon the head of Darkseid's vessel Bruno Mannheim as they took to the air.

[Cloud]

Cloud had lept rashly into the battle, charging Deadpool with Buster sword carried low. He noticed that the adversary was a swordsman. Perhaps this man could entertain him for a while. He did not even formally challenge, instead sprinted even faster almost to a point where his movements were a blur.

The EX-SOLDIER then stopped abruptly sliding to one knee as he swung a horizontal slash with the built up momentum at the man's midsection. Should the slash connect with his flesh he would be cut in two. However if the man and his sword was strong enough he could block but it could possibly stun or stagger the man.

[Ayen]

Zora was amazed at just how high Gabrielle could jump having no magical background to speak of. The witch couldn't even jump that high. So instead she chose to run around the man now blocking their path as there was still plenty of room to maneuver despite everything that was going on around her. Hoping Sincara hit her mark as she continued after the demon seal with the rest of the group.

[Sparda]

"Stay close!" Demetrios' voice echoed in Doctor Fate's mind. Pulses of magical energy shimmered across the Ajerian's armour, presenting an extra layer of protection that caused Deadpool's volley of bullets to simply bounce away. With the blond-haired stranger engaging the mercenary who had been firing on him, Demetrios swung his blade in Wrex's direction, unleashing a volley of explosive energy bolts to blast through his cover and keep him suppressed.

The armoured warrior turned on his heels in that same motion, sprinting after the Kari party. Waving his free hand at Darkseid, he caused another rune of energy to flash into being at the god's feet. It exploded just as quickly and sent a mighty pulse of electricity through his borrowed, mortal body, seeking to wrack it with muscle spasms and paralyse him momentarily while they made their getaway.

[Kragen]

Deadpool rolled backwards away from his current cover which Cloud had just broke through in his charge. But that gave Deadpool enough time to quickly regroup and fire at Cloud with his pistols. .40SWs aimed at his torso area at a close range and then to mid-range as the mind washed Deadpool leaped back after his roll to provide some distance between himself and the blonde who's hair defied all natural logic of gravity.

[DC Comics]

They had made the mistake of taking to the air. A place where gravity dictated your actions unless you had wings. All Darkseid had to do now was look up and set his Omega Beams upon them as they fell down from the sky. However as he did this Sincara's blast came crashing down just as the Ajerian had attacked. No expression in the world could describe the New God's reaction to this development as Demetrios paralyzed and Sincara's obliterated his only remaining link to the realm. Deadpool and Wrex freewill would be restored as now all Darkseid knew was darkness.

Drahmin and Moloch was all that stood in the way of the Kari's team making it to the gateway. Moloch slammed his ball into the ground causing it to tremble the second Gabrielle's feet returned to the street while Drahmin gathered his flies and hurled them into the Battling Bard of Potidaea's face.

[Garrus Vakarian]

Wrex's shots missed Gabrielle as she took to the air and then he was forced back further by Demetrios' explosive energy bolts. Just as the Krogan Battlemaster was starting to come back though Darkseid's vessel was destroyed and the freewill the krogan has been robbed came flooding back and he stood on the battlefield confused at what had happened. Quickly getting back into cover however so he could survey the area and try to make heads or tails of how he got here and what was going on.
