If Ranko was anybody else she would have felt the need to say some evil, perhaps even cliché retort, but nay. The Crimson Devil only narrowed her eyes over this child of Yahweh, Kasul calling out to Ranko to taste her soul as she prepared to move forward, that was until the blonde spoke again.
"It seems we have a problem here. This blind assassin would rather be killed then allow me to save the people around her in one swift stride. Very well, throw your life away quickly so that you can be saved in the afterlife. But know that I will not stand down."
Ranko turned her head to see the Blind Assassin coming but paid her no heed as she turned back to Joann. Just in time to see her wipe out more of her army to the open space to their right. With mind and body focused on the task at hand her body soon came alive, becoming nothing but a red and black blur as the distance between them was closed and the screams of the demonic blade echoed through the air as it looked to collide with flesh. |

Utena performed the parry 4 and the parry 6 to defend against the upper right and left arm of the shokan she was doing battle with then quickly issued the parry 8 and 7 to defend against the lower set of arms. After all four arms got their chance to strike only to fall short the former Champion of Ohtori came at the shokan with a remise actually managing to push the shokan back. Meanwhile the soldier by her side was grabbed by one of the approaching shokans who lifted him up high above the ground and roared only to get a grenade right in the mouth as he fell and rolled back just in time to avoid getting caught in the resulting blast.

Even though Joann's blast was in the opposite direction of Fukari's charge, she could still feel the holy power threatening to obliterate her and still she persisted. Quite foolishly so as she was motivated only be revenge, wanting nothing more than to slice open the Crimson Devil's throat and lick the blood clean off of her katana as Ranko would struggle to breathe on the ground. That was her fantasy anyway. But still it was far away from reality and she didn't care if she made another enemy in the process. When she approached the two, the Blind Assassin threw herself directly between them, halting the demonic blade with her own and pushing against it to force the Crimson Devil back.

With Rebecca's help Sailor V led Eva behind the barricade to the building behind it where many of the soldiers wounded during the battle was being treated. Round blue eyes looking for any signs of Luca Valentine from behind the mask on her face as she escorted Edie over to a table to rest on. "Stay with her. I have to find Luca."

Rebecca was surprised at the amount of injured soldiers, as she didn't think that there would be this many injured soldiers already. It only proved that her duties lay here as she put Eva down on one of the tables as she began to tend to the wound, the blonde woman then said that she needed to make sure someone else was alright before running off, "Be careful," Rebecca said softly as she finished dressing the wound.

The White Queen observed the battle from HQ. Showing special interest in Joann who's own abilities were threatening to destroy the charts that were reading her. Dragons were blown out of the sky by the Firehawks and fell upon their demon brethren on the ground who were being pummeled by the auto-turrets and tanks cannons on the field. Already the White Queen was calculating the odds of both armies and at the rate the Netherrealm was going with such a poor display of leadership skills, and any real tactics that didn't involve rush and attack, they'd never make it past the first barricade.

Utena retreated back now that the shokan was on his own advance towards her. Continuing to parry his arms until he finally got sick of it and stomped his feet into the ground, knocking her off balance for a moment but that moment was all he needed to swing two of his four arms into her chest and sent flying across the air into the ground. The shokan laughed and charged at the former Champion of Ohtori looking to end this but Utena rise back up to her feet and plunged the Rapier into the shokan's heart, watching the life leave his eyes as he fell down to his knees and then into the ground. The shokan was at last defeated by her blade. This allowed her a moment to breathe but not for long as more was coming to their position on the battlefield.
"G-give me a break!"
"Sorry," said the soldier fighting alongside her, "no breaks today."

Sailor V nodded to Rebecca and then took off, making her way through the crowds of soldiers in the room and up the staircase at the end of the room to the second floor. She ascended up to a brightly lit, long hallway with several different doors on the left and right. Hearing the groans of injured soldiers all over the place as doctors came in and out of the room. Looking from one room to another while looking for any signs of Luca or at least someone who could tell her where she was before it was too late.

"Come on, come on," Rebecca muttered under her breath as she struggled to control the bleeding from Eva's wound, truth be told this was her first time handling something like this, she was trained to treat light to medium cuts, but this was a laceration that would need stitches and surgery. Nadia was doing her best to help out her friend, but what they really needed was a trained doctor.
Thankfully one did came at the nick of time, "Alright there Rebecca?" the doctor asked as Rebecca glared at him, "guess not...alright let's see, wow this is bad, alright here is what we need to do," as he began to give a set of instructions to both soldiers. Both of them did it to the letter and with the efficiency of a trained unit as they brought sterile sews and scissors as well as hot water.
The doctor did his best with what he had, this wasn't exactly a hospital, but it was better then treating it on the field. A few times he lost concentration and the blood spurted out again, but eventually after what seemed like ages the doctor was able to stitch something onto Eva's neck to control the bleed, "She'll need an actual hospital to treat her, but this should hold it for a while..." the doctor said.
"Thanks doc, Rebecca sighed as the doctor nodded and went back to his other patients.

There was no need for Fukari to push Ranko back. Ranko had already stepped back the second their blades touched one another allowing her to use her armored claw arm to bat the Katana away before thrusting Kasul towards the Blind Assassin's chest. |

The Crimson Devil backing away was an unknown concept to anyone who lived in Jherra. The motion threw the Blind Assassin off and even if it was for a moment, that moment was all Ranko needed to plunge Kasul into her chest and begin eating away at her soul. Desperate, Fukari used the blade in her chest as leverage to bring a foot up and press it hard against Ranko's stomach and pulling herself out of the demonic blade's tip as she tumbled back into Joann.
"Edie!"
Eva ran onto the scene, a look of concerned planted on her face as she stopped at the table Edie was currently being operated on.
"What happened? Is she going to be okay?"

"Dammit. Luca! Luca, where are you!?" Sailor V was nowhere closer to finding any signs of Luca, or anyone who knew where she was in the midst of all this madness. The Soldier of Truth and Justice could only hope they'd be able to save Edie without her if need be as she proceeded up to the third and final floor of the building. "Luca!"

Sailor V would hear the voice of The Paradox first before Luca Valentine appeared before her with a disapproving frown along her facial features, blue eyes looking the Senshi up and down as she approached the Soldier of Truth and Justice. Or Soldier of Swearing and Yelling in a loud, pesky voice in this case.
“Just because we're at war doesn't mean we should forget our manners.”
The Demon Assassin could barely make anything out in her weakened state. She could hear voices but none she recognized. That was until Eva's voice reached her ears and she sensed the worry in her tone. Looking about desperately to catch a glimpse of her in her vision as her right gloved hand reached up for Eva to take hold.

There was an extremely uneasy calm to the woman the moment Ranko burst forward and tried to kill her in one swing. She hadn't tried to defend herself nor did she pay any mind to the weapons path. She'd foreseen the events of what was to happen and understood her life was in the hands of another. The Blind Assassin seemed out matched however as she stumbled back from a wound.
Joann grabbed the back of Fukari's neck and literally pushed her to the left then raised her blade from her side upward launching a holy slash of power directly toward the red headed devil. This slash was concentrated making it much more deadly to combat head on but made it easier to dodge which was the main focus. It was fast and would work as the perfect distraction as she brought the full might of her holy power tumbling down from her blade.
The moment the tip of her sword hit the ground a blast followed the same slash of power and purified everything in front of her. The very ground itself because radiated with holy power, anything that came into contact with the blast wave would have its unholy ass ripped apart. Joann was not engaging Ranko however, she still allowed the assassin to do her thing but considering the events that followed up to this point she felt the need to make it very clear how dangerous she was to engage head on.

Utena parried the blades of the tarkatans that attacked her while the unnamed soldier by her side continued to unload his rifle rounds into the demons' flesh. The minute he ran out of ammo he abandoned the rifle and replaced it with twin machine pistols to continue providing cover fire for Utena who hit a Lunge plunging the Rapier into the heart of yet another demonic beast sending them back to hell.
"Bitches always gotta learn the hard way," said the soldier. How he managed to stay this level-headed so far Utena could only guess as she remained tense and alert all throughout the fight. Rapier at the ready for the next batch of demons to come their way.
