Wedge nodded and altered his scan parameters, looking for areas with a high latent carbon emission, whether by smoke or loaded in the ground. A few blips appeared on the nav-computer, and Wedge climbed into his cockpit as he put away his datapad. Most of these blips are more industrialized areas, so we can most likely rule them out. However, this one, combined with the seismic data, points out a small town area that should not be generating such results. I think we found your demon. Now for the bigger question. If that thing can take out a small settlement, how in the Force do you expect to beat it with your meager stake? I'm not entirely convinced that would be a tactically sound thing to do. And how do you plan on getting there, since it is 3 klicks away and it seems to be going further away.

"Most of these blips are more industrialized areas, so we can most likely rule them out. However, this one, combined with the seismic data, points out a small town area that should not be generating such results. I think we found your demon."
At last. After all this searching she had finally found him.
"Now for the bigger question. If that thing can take out a small settlement, how in the Force do you expect to beat it with your meager stake?"
“'How in the Force'. Seriously?”
She didn't remember that saying in the movie.
"I'm not entirely convinced that would be a tactically sound thing to do. And how do you plan on getting there, since it is 3 klicks away and it seems to be going further away."
“You let me worry about that. This is my battle, not yours. Now you're gonna want to take your X-Wing and get out of here. This place is going to be crawling with police any minute now, there's no way someone didn't call in about all the fighting.”

Wedge looked at Tori with a raised eyebrow. He did not think anything of the way he said that phrase, something that was not uncommon in his galaxy. Why did she pull that bit out of all that information? Is it because he was right and she was a Jedi, lost like him? That was for another time. The time now was about this demon and how Wedge could aid her.
You already dragged me into this by using me to get this location. I have no intention of leaving this to you by yourself. You'll need the firepower, too, seeing as how its the size of a chicken walker. He paused, and shook his head at his last words. I mean, mechanized infantry unit. Wedge tapped the side of his X-wing's fuselage, dragging his fingers to the proton torpedo tube opening. A proton torpedo has the capability to tear holes in even Star Destroyers, vessels that can literally level a planet. It would be a huge asset to your goals, as well as the four laser cannons on each wingtip. I offer my X-wing as your means of travel.

Tori couldn't help but snicker at the name. Star Wars was always more Nex's thing and he always attempted to get her and the others into it. The memory created a smile on the Young Vampire Slayer's face but that wouldn't last long as all fond memories led down the same path. Reminding her why she was doing this to begin with.

“It doesn't look like there's room for two.”

Wedge nodded, well aware of the X-wing's inability to carry more than 2 people unless they want to get really really close and intimate. Not something he thought she would want to do. But, there was more than one way to handle this issue. I'll stay. You take my X-wing and Mynock will fly you there and take it out. You can watch the results right in the cockpit, and can even tell Mynock to land if you wish to disembark. Oh, Mynock has been programmed to use lasers before proton torpedoes, so try not to stop him. I'll tell him to use it if the proton torpedoes seem ineffective. He will not respond to other commands, neither will the cockpit interface be online, so as to protect against theft, but I don't think you know how to fly an X-wing, since you really don't know what it is. Does that sounds reasonable to you? The other option is to sit on my lap as I fly the X-wing, but I'm sure sitting on my lap isn't in your to-do list.

"Okay..."
She was starting to get why Slayers always worked alone.

"Wouldn't know what to do with it if I did want it."
Would probably make some nerd day though.

"Yeah... last guy's lap I sat on was Santa and I was five so that's definitely out."
Tori thought about it for a moment but she didn't see any other option aside from ditching the guy and doing it on her own as she originally intended but she didn't see that working out well.
"All right, we'll do it your way."
Tori walked over to the X-Wing, and then scratched her head before looking back to Wedge.
"How do I get in...?"
Her ignorance showing more and more by the minute.

Wedge tried to repress a chuckle, and pointed to the torpedo tube on the side. Use that as a leg lift, then just haul yourself inside. It's a little awkward for first-time flyers, but once you get used to it, you can get in with relative ease and speed.
Wedge offered his hand to help her get up, smiling softly and honesly. Mynock whistled a small ditty to introduce himself. He says hello, and that his name is Mynock. He's the swiveling dome back there. Now, once your in the cockpit, put my green helmet on . It will be on the chair. Head injuries still happen in atmospheric combat.
Mynock blatted and beeped, saying he had a fix on the demon's location and destination. Good luck, and be safe. I'll guide you as you go.

Tori accepted Wedge's help getting into the X-Wing, using the torpedo tube as a leg lift as instructed and slowly, and carefully hauled herself inside now sitting inside the cockpit, not wanting to touch anything in fear she'd set something off or blow something up and there was enough destruction done to this area of Sunnydale already.
“Hi, Mynock. My name is Tori.”
Tori grabbed the green helmet and placed it on before looking back towards Wedge on the ground.
"Good luck, and be safe. I'll guide you as you go."
“Thanks. All right, I'm ready for liftoff.”

Wedge nodded as the cockpit's canopy closed around Tori. The momentary darkness caused by the polarized window was quickly removed as the ship's internal systems powered up. Lights and indicators flashed and changed colors, with a central display showing a general flight path.
The X-wing lifted off smoothly, dust swirling about as it left Wedge behind. The engines hummed gently, and the X-wing accelerated forward, with only a slight pull on Tori's body as it did so. Contrails formed along the wingtips as it soared overhead. Mynock booped a greeting to Tori, head swivelling slightly behind the cockpit. A line of text in Aurabesh floated on the screen bottom as the target coordinates were zoomed in upon.
He says hello. And he wrote that the target has stopped in its tracks. You should get there in two minutes. Keep your eyes peeled for that rock thing. Once you're in range, the S-foils (the pair of wings on either side of you) will open and begin their attack. If you HAVE to get out, let me know. I'll key the command in.

Tori felt like she was inside a virtual arcade where the game screen was directly in front of you and the ship itself was the controls, only she didn't have any coins and the thing was just repeatedly showing off the intro and game footage waiting for someone to take the helm that actually had money.
"He says hello."
Tori beeped herself to return the greeting.
And he wrote that the target has stopped in its tracks. You should get there in two minutes. Keep your eyes peeled for that rock thing. “A-all right.”
The demon looked up to the sky being able to sense the Vampire Slayer with a thirst for vengeance that would never be quenched. What he couldn't sense on the other hand was the X-Wing that appeared above him, an object the likes of which the demon has never seen and no idea what to expect from it.
“Oh! I see him! I see him!”

Mynock has a lock on it too. Just try not to get sick. If it has some sort of projectile weapon Mynock will do some maneuvars to evade. The S-foils opened up to the X-wing's signature X profile, slowing down from its higher speed. The cockpit's instruments indicated a full weapons lock on the demon, and four red lasers shot outward toward the monster. The X-wing fired three times before soaring over the demon, swooping around for another pass. This time, the lasers were broken apart, one laser firing right after the other to strafe the ground the creature was on. Dust and debris clouded the targets profile, and the lack of solid energy signature made the target lock symbol disappear on the cockpit interface. The X-wing's engines turned off as the repulsorlifts were engaged, and the X-wing began a slow revolution around the clouded area.

Normally Tori would have responded with either an okay or an all right but she was too far gone in the moment. Her eyes dead lock on the demon down below, hatred burning in them like a raging forest fire. She was so close to finally killing this thing that she could almost taste it. Her only regret was he wouldn't die from her own two hands. The Young Vampire Slayer watched as the area was covered in a cloud of dust and she couldn't pick up his presence outside or on inside of the ship. But as she was looking around she heard a sound coming from outside the ship and when she looked up, she saw the demon on top of the X-Wing staring down upon her.
“Wedge, it's on the ship. It's on the ship!”

Mynock howled in fear and snapped the X-wing over on itself. A bright flash of light covered the X-wing as the shields flared and died, lights and warning indicators in the cockpit going crazy with the change. The repulsorlifts strained with the large weight on it, forcing them to shut down. The X-wing dropped for a half-second, giving Tori the feeling of a freefall inside the cockpit while the inertial compensators respond to the sudden change. Engines flared, and the X-wing shot forward, cutting speed and boosting ahead in random attempts to dislodge the creature. It rotated and dived for the ground, closing the S-foils and pulling up only a few meters from the ground. The engines dragged the demon across the ground at high speeds, hoping the ground would remove the creature faster than the maneuvars would. Nothing worked, so Mynock flipped the X-wing over again and pointed the nose upward. A new indicator flashed and the X-wing's engines made a large boom, sending the ship vaulting forward into hyperspace for an instant. Blue color and swirls envelloped the X-wing as it transitioned back to realspace, with the X-wing now floating right above orbit. Witrhout a second moment, the X-wing rotated and dived for the planet, reentry plasma forming around the sides of the X-wing. The ship buckled here and there, but the tough durasteel seemed to be able to handle the high speeds and friction.

Yup. She was going to die. No question. She was going to die inside the cockpit of a space ship she knew little to nothing about all while screaming at the top of her lungs and the demon looming down upon her frightened form laughing. Although she couldn't even see so much as a grin on his dark face, she knew deep down he was laughing at her.
Eventually they would ditch the demon, at the same time Tori would find herself lent back and her face stretching and before she knew what hit her, Tori could see the planet earth out from the window on the cockpit. The view was beautiful, it was even better than what she could have imagined it was from the pictures and videos. Breathtaking. But then Mynock would take them back into orbit and all Tori could do was sit there.
“AHHHHHHHHHH!”
Screaming.

The X-wing's shields began to return to life from the body of the ship. It extended from the body of the craft, pushing the monster off the fuselage and pushing it into the atmosphere. The demon's hold eventually broke after a large and sudden shudder in the craft as the engines kicked to full thrust. The demon flipped away, gaining its own reentry plasma, burning through its rocky parts. Mynock was not about to let it escape that easy. The X-wing pulled out of the dive effortlessly, inertial compensators giving Tori only a little bit of G forces to deal with. Coming about, the X-wing loosed many laserbolts into the already burning demon, destroying parts of its arms, legs and torso. Mynock whistled a victorious ditty as the craft zoomed and waggled its wings past the rubble that once made up the demon as they burned in the atmosphere.
The cockpit returned to a standard lighting, shield indicator yellow as the shield power retured to normal. The comm system crackled and came to life. Sorry about that. I had to assume direct control of Mynock after it latched onto the hull. I didn't have time to explain my intentions either. Had I, it probably would have smashed the cockpit and you inside of it. Next time I go strafing some rock monster, I'll be sure to expect that sort of attack. Are you ok? All I got from you was screaming.
