A man slumped unconscious on the ground was once of the last things young hobbit Samwise Gamgee expected to see on his quick walk outside. Yet there, smack-dab in front of the library lay a man right in front of him. Sam squinted down at him, tilting his head to the side. It was strange being taller than somebody, even of the said person was passed out. Sam knelt next to the man's form. "Sir? Sir, can you hear me?" Sam spoke roughly. The man didn't seem to be injured. "Sir?" Sam tried again. He drew out from his dark green traveling cloak a small square of elvish waybread, which had been wrapped in a leaf for safekeeping. "Is it food you're wanting, Sir?" Sam said, not even sure the man could hear him. The Hobbit looked about him for someone to help him with the man. Sam certainly coulden't carry him. The man looked far too heavy, and hobbits only grew to about three feet. "Um... Can someone help me with this fellow?" Sam called out hesitantly. He hated asking for help. It usually got him attention, and that was one of the last things Sam wanted.

"Wait! Wait!" Too late, Grimm managed to rip the monitor apart. "It's not a page you turn..." To make matters worse Grimm rash decision making has led to him receiving an electric shock by the broken monitor and him destroying the other nearby computers in a fit of rage. Aminee quickly jumped out of her chair and backed away from the man with his scythe who no longer cared about staying quiet. "Have you gone mad!? You're going to get us both killed!"
It appeared Grimm was done here and quickly took his leave. Thank God! Aminee thought. Glad that this exchange was finally over and she was free to go but as she made her way through the same exit Grimm had gone she heard a man calling out for help and found the short man, who she naturally assumed to be a midget, next to Grimm who appeared to have passed out from hunger. "Dammit!" Aminee couldn't in good conscious leave Grimm like that so she approached him and Sam to offer her assistance. "Hey, you there, grab his feet I'll grab the other side." But before she could move to his upper body she caught The Rookie approaching from the corner of her eye and quickly drew her 9mm and aimed it at the man in armor. "Who are you? What are you doing here?" In hindsight all of them could ask that to the other but Starlight was far more concerned about the man who looked military than the midget who looked... out of this world.

Seeing the woman draw her weapon..or whatever it was...Sam quickly drew his own dagger. Though it wasn't very decorative or fancy, Sam found it very usefull. It was just the right length for a hobbit. Sam brandished his weapon and asked, Do you know the fellow that's gone and fainted? Is he in any trouble?" Sam figured he could help the woman with the other man, or it worse came to worse, they could take the uncounciouss one and flee from whoever this new threat was, if he was indeed a threat. However, whoever this woman was, she appeared to have a few good tricks up her sleeve. The weapon she was holding have proof of that.

-Grey's body glowed slightly, and from his throat came sputters and coughs. He wretched upward rather violently, and may have knocked something small some distance away. He sighed looked at his shaking hands, and the youth simply shook his head and looked to Aminee, smirking slightly. "Never did like dying of starvation. I think I should be right now . . . maybe. Food would b- . . . " Grey stopped his sentence at the presence of the other two, and sighed rather generationally. "Oi, you two got food at all? Other wise I could care less what you're doing here. If you've got one, a choc éclair will do."
His smile was one of cheerful glee, his eyes lit up slightly as he tried to search his pockets for his own food, and failed once more. he simply sat there, and after a short while lay back down, smiling. "Miniature, you need to eat some food yourself; so short and weak like, you could be killed too easily in these streets, what with the reapers coming and going as they please."

Sam wasn't sure he believed what he had just seen. This man had gotten up anddisputete his former condition, showed no signs of strain or anything. Sam raised his eyebrows at the man's request. "Sure, just hold on a second." He muttered. He reached into his large pack and drew out a small square if bread, wrapped in leaves for safekeeping. He passed it to the man, but hesitated at the man's remark. "Just because I happen to be a bit shorter than most don't mean I haven't ways if defend myself! I can fight." He said holding his dagger aloft. "In fact, I reckon it's you big folk that come trampling through the woods as if you own the place; so loud that people from miles 'round can hear you, that are the trouble!"

The Rookie surely did not have time for this at all... He needed a map... and those computers would give him one... but the gun the woman used.... was old. It looked like an old dinosaur pistols five hundred years ago when the United Nations did not have full power over the world. It caused him to drop his gun and strap it to his back. He was only enemy to the Covenant... not another human. He slowly moved his right hand to tap the wireless receiver box on his helmet to show he was here for a map, not them.

Grey simply smirked at both the men, and shook his head, and snatched up the food from the hobbit; mind it was done so fast that a small piece of clothing was torn from the hobbit's sleeve. The youth spoke in some words, breathing inward, and the food began to glow and then strange lights slowly raced to his cloak; his method of replicating an object required his touch and his spell, nothing more.
he reached into the large jacket and pulled out the exact same bread and gobbled it down, motioning for the hobbit to take his bit. The girl still seemed to just stand there, and he shook his head sighing.
"Fighting is easy. Surviving another matter altogether. Stick with me, miniature and I'll make sure no other reaper gets to you; well, within reason of course. Gotta get your action some way right? Probably won't be with the ladies. Grey's more than smug smirk was broad enough to be a grin, and the slight hint of amusement in his eyes marked not much more than a friendly jest. He got up and stood, having being raised from the dead by his own "fail-safe" anatomy (it seemed that "death by natural causes" would never apply to this youth).
He cracked almost every bone in his body; the sound either terrifying or disgusting to those around.
He began to head out, and waved for whoever wanted to follow to follow; he needed answers from his library, which he hoped held the key to his existence.

"I-I don't know. I only just met the guy." Aminee didn't take her eyes off the Rookie who soon made it known to them that he wasn't a threat and he certainly didn't take her as one with the way he was looking at her gun. Seeing his motion to the wireless receiver box on his helmet, Aminee nodded her head to signal that he could go on through while lowering her own weapon. "Go on then." The Pop Idol put her weapon away and turned back in time to see Grimm taking his leave after receiving help from Sam, whom she would turn her attention towards herself. "What were you rambling on about earlier?" she asked the hobbit.

The rookie slung his weapon over his shoulder, silently passing the others and chuckling childishly at the little guy. He surely wasn't human... at least not in his time... for midgets were a rarity where he was from... for gravity was low enough that anyone could grow to at least five foot eight.
The computers were similar to ones at home to his surprise, only without a city-wide Superintendent-Class AI. It didn't take long for him to get the map of the city... and examine it through his visor.

Sam looked at the youth in awe. He didn't know that the man could perform magic as easily as any wizard. He lightly touched the place where his cloak had been mended, eyes widened. "Where did you learn that? Are you a wizard?" Sam asked, taking the bread the man had offered. His semi-pointed ears burned bright red at the youth's mention of women. "I'm not looking to score! I am only here on..Personal business." Sam said. Te two people he had met seemed decent enough, but Sam was not about to tell them everything like a naive child."My name is Samwise Gamgee, or Sam to most." he said.

Aminee offered a smile Sam's way, the best she could offer given everything she's been through. "It's nice to meet you, Sam. I'm Aminee Starlight." The Pop Idol took a quick glance around after introducing herself, not liking how quiet everything was. Yes libraries were meant to be quiet but this one had an eery silence to it that made the brunette uncomfortable. After all the noise how come no one working night shift came to investigate? Had Grimm eliminated all there were with his song? There had to be more than that. Either way she didn't like it and wasn't in any hurry to stick around. "We shouldn't stay here. The people who run this city aren't the best of men around. It'd be best if we find somewhere safe and thankfully I know place," she whispered to Sam.

Sam nodded at Animee. He was still a little suspicious, but then, it was hard for him to trust anyone. It was in his nature. Sam followed Animee's gaze around the library. He didn't see anything unusual, just a lot of books. This was a library, though. It was expected. At Animee's words, he nodded and gripped the straps of his pack, preparing to leave. "Oh, and what's a reaper?" he asked in a low tone.

-Grey's sharp and intuitive ear's picked up the hobbit's question and smirked wryly. His tone was sort of a sick humorous tone that would probably freak the poor thing out. Drawing his glistening scythe from the coat rather hauntingly, his throat evoked a small sad tone and a small ghost appeared; unbeknownst to the others, this was his "sister", a young girl who'd taken him in after being found outside the Library.
"I am a reaper, miniature. A 'wizard' with mastery over death if you will . . . one whose only release from the mortal plane is through a final battle, a climax of grand sound and glorious death." His small magical song stopped after "death" and the ghost faded. Something of sadness could be seen in his eyes at the last sentence, his face screwing up in arrogant distaste at the sensation and his face shifting to the girl. "I'm coming with you then. Otherwise more of those ever lovely idiots might try to attack . . . again." He pointed to one of the guards, who was stirring from what appeared to be sleep.
"The song is fading from most of their minds, the rest might take a while longer, if at all."

"He has a name." Aminee looked between them, wondering if it would be wise to take them back to the resistance base. They couldn't go back to the post she had before with the others after the shootout but was HQ the best solution right now? Sam hasn't given her any reason not to trust him but Grimm was another situation entirely. "Did you have a designation in mind?" Aminee asked Grimm.

Sam's brow furrowed and he stepped back a pace. It was to his knowledge that he had just made a powerful ally, that would turn dangorous if threatened. He gazed at the scyth warily, even though he knew the man was not going to hurt him with it. " That's.....unnatural." he muttered after the man's speech. Something about the man had changed when he had spoken, making Sam feel uncomfortable. It was an overall unpleasant feeling, but Sam looked at the man with a new respect in his eyes.
