Kragen's feet were now firmly against the desert sand as he looked around towards the demon guards made of stone leading a path to the black castle near the edge of the city which tower peered over the rest of the city. Looked like they were expected. The ex-soldier took a good look around while waiting for Garrus to join him, still unsure if Sparda would be as well, seeing that although the place was mostly of a medieval style people wore more modernized clothing and the houses looked to be powered by electricity. An interesting mix if there ever was one. It also appeared the new leadership had allowed for more choices of weapons as the human soldiers among the statues carried 19th century rifles. From what he heard about Ranko she would have never permitted her men to wield firearms no matter how more effective they were compared to swords.
The people around didn't react much to him, his attire, his weapon or even the portal still opened behind him which told Kragen that these people were all but used to strange occurrences. Unlike Isafaro where even Imai was caught off guard by the supernatural force known as Alucard and 201 and the others who weren't present for that event still had a hard time swallowing his existence. They wouldn't for long now that they were in contact with someone like Zira and Sparda who reeked of the supernatural. Turning around to greet the turian Kragen said, "They're expecting us."

Garrus soon followed behind the ex-soldier, holding onto his head for a moment while turning to face Kragen. Garrus Vakarian Zira wasn't kidding about the portal sickness. The turian rebel was quick to regain his composure and examined Jherrazad for himself. It was amazing just how different it was when compared to Isafaro, almost as if the portal was a time machine back to an earlier point in time than a great leap between distances. Imai was right when she said Jherra was diverse in its nations. Kragen said they were expected and so Garrus saw no reason to keep them waiting as he began his walk towards the black castle. Garrus Vakarian Come on. Let not leave Isafaro's finest waiting.

"You get used to it," floated Sparda's voice through the dark breach in reply to the turian. Sparda himself followed close behind, casting his gaze past the two soldiers and across the great city as the portal dissipated behind him.
"To the palace with us, then," he mused, stepping past the rebels and taking the lead. "Expect no hindrance from the local authority. The new Empress is a personal friend." Expecting the two disparate soldiers to be following closely, the Dark Knight made for Chloe's palace, silhouetted against the encroaching darkness of the night.

As the three traveled they would be met by a man in all black armor, shoulder-length black hair, brown eyes and a dark blue cape on his back. He came to a complete stop before the three and looked them over before speaking, "Are you from the Isafaro Party?" Sparda would recognize him from his last visit here when Chloe first assumed the role of Empress. "I am General Alexander of Jherrazad East Division. I was instructed by the Empress to escort you to the holding cells so you wouldn't wander. You have permission to use whatever means you find necessary to extract information from the prisoners." Alexander turned to face Sparda. "Advised you don't blow up any castle walls."
Alexander turned around and guided the trio to the dungeons of the castle where Ayanna, Zach and various other prisoners of other crimes were being held. They were located in the final corridor of the dungeons, isolated away from the other prisoners and more heavily guarded than the rest. After all, Ayanna and Zach were easily the most dangerous people being held captive at present. Once Alexander led them to their shared cell Alexander spoke again, "If you need me I'll be two corridors over." He turned around and took his leave.

Ayanna paced back and forth inside the cell while Zach remained seated in the corner.
“Will you park it somewhere,” said Zach.
“I'm sorry. I can't stand being locked up like this. Where the hell is Drake? If he's out fucking some bimbo I'm gonna---!”
Ayanna stopped herself when she saw Alexander leading three people to their cell, none of them were recognizable but if they were with Jherrazad then it couldn't be good news for her and Zach.
“Look, Zach. We have visitors.”
Zach looked up from his corner as the two examined the three. Kragen looked to be the most normal person facing them and when the guy in the gas mask under normal conditions is the most normal looking person in your team there was a problem.
“What do you want?”

Kragen followed behind the others and then stopped when Alexander approached, watching him closely. After the exchange the ex-soldier continued to follow behind, sparing a glance towards the various prisoners in these cells before they finally came across two of Isafaro's finest, locked up like a bunch of petty criminals, like all the rest. Even then the female tried to act tough in the presence of the three as Alexander left them alone to deal with the two. Upon hearing Ayanna's question, Kragen said but one word. "Information."

It didn't take long for one of Jherrazad's own to greet them regardless. Garrus Vakarian That's us. Garrus looked over to Sparda when Alexander was finished and began leading them to the location of Ayanna and Zach. Garrus Vakarian Get in trouble often? The turian were already going through interrogation techniques in his head while being led through an ancient looking dungeons, well, ancient to Garrus being unfamiliar to the human medieval era which so far looked to be what this place was. How can one city be so advanced while at the same time such a backward place existed? It didn't make sense. Well, there would be time for that later. For now they had information to squeal out of some people and by the look of things the ones they were sent to interrogate still had some fight left in them. Garrus Vakarian General Vulture wants to use the tower to wage all out war on existence. We want to know what his "exact" plans are for taking the tower and when, now that your previous attempt to siege the tower failed.

“Fuck off!”
Ayanna turned around without another word said to anyone and sat up against the wall across from the cell's bars with her back facing the three that wanted answers. Zach remained in his corner also choosing the silence approach as neither one of them were about to reveal any information that the resistance could use against the Crimson Vulture, their minds already being closed off to penetrating in addition.

"Now, why would I disrespect the Empress so?" chuckled Sparda in response to Alexander's passing remark upon being met by the one-man welcome wagon sent by Chloe. Smiling in spite of himself, having already disregarded the incident Alexander was referring to, he followed the General closely with Garrus and Kragen in tow, no time wasted in their journey to the bowels of the castle where the two prisoners were being held.
Along the way, Sparda caught Garrus' question and chuckled to himself.
"Water under the bridge, as far as I'm concerned," came his response. "Let's just say Chloe's appointment to the throne wasn't without controversy..."
He fell silent as they approached the far cell, and let Garrus and Kragen do the talking - not that it got them far. The Isafaro soldiers were quick to flip off their interrogators, staying dutifully quiet. Admirable, Sparda thought, that they would resolve to keep their secrets even when in the clutches of the enemy.
It remained to be seen how long that silence could maintain.
"I'd rather we don't have to take the most extreme measures here," echoed the demon's voice in Garrus and Kragen's minds. "But let's exercise this inquisitive licence we've been given. I take it you two have a plan?"
While he waited for the answer to that question, the demon set in motion a plan of his own; reaching out with a malevolent extension of his power, subtly channelling his dark energies into the very walls of the cell in preparation for something he had never tried since suppressing its evil when it first took hold...
Harnessing the power of the Waking Nightmare.

As expected, like a good soldier Ayanna and Zach weren't going to unveil any information of worth so easily. Kragen spared a quick glance over to Garrus before approaching the dungeons. The ex-soldier grabbed Ayanna by the hair and yanked it to bring the soldier up to her feet before spinning her around and slamming her up against the dungeons walls, showing no signs of holding back due to gender as his own terrifying appearance in the black gas mask with red glowing eyes were increased through the use of the Waking Nightmare initiated by Sparda as bloodied insects began to run down Kragen's mask from Ayan's point of view.

Garrus turned to the nearby guards. Garrus Vakarian Open the cell door. Looks like they were going to have to do this the hard way. No problem as far as Garrus was concerned. Once the cell door was opened Kragen was already roughing up Ayanna leaving the turian to deal with Zach. He was currently unaware of what Sparda was doing and the telepathy? Yeah, that was going to take some getting used to. The rebel turian stepped inside the cell and made sure to stand between Zach and Ayanna's current position with Kragen. Leave it to the ex-soldier to make Garrus play the good cop. Garrus Vakarian Don't try anything. If you don't want your "friend" to be hurt I suggest you start talking.

Ayanna stared at the wall in front of her, seeing A small white insect crawl up the wall from the ground. Disgusted, Ayanna slammed her hand against the insect but witnessed the entire wall shattering allowing her to peer into a pitch black abyss. A man with white hair could be seen in the distance and a smile cross her lips when she saw it was Drake and she called out to him but when he turned around she would see nothing but a mutilated face looking back at her.
Ayanna had to cover her mouth to keep from vomiting, wanting to cry out and run to him but she could do neither. With a sudden and strong tug on her hair, Ayanna felt herself being pulled up to her feet and slammed against, well nothing in her mind, bright red eyes burning through the darkness beamed down upon her small frame as the black mask melted off and worms fell piling up on the ground quickly, threatening to bury and suffocate her, causing her to scream at the top of her lungs.
Zach looked over to Ayanna to see the terrified state she was in. He never seen her look like that their whole lives. She's never been the coolest head among them but she never showed any fear in such a blatant way. Zach felt an overwhelming amount of anger, growing hot and red in the face as he unleashed his rage in a scream and bounced up from the ground, driving his shoulder into Garrus' mid-section while having his body low enough for his arms to wrap around the turian's legs and take him down to the ground on his back.

Terrified. Kragen watched as the color left Ayanna's cheeks. The ex-soldier was far from pleasant to look at but he never invoked such fear in somebody before especially a soldier. He turned his head to look at Sparda meanwhile keeping the woman pinned up against the wall. "What's happening to her?"

As quickly as he had bounded to his feet, Zach would be restrained - by the cell itself. Its walls convulsed unnaturally for a moment before a pair of huge, slender hands hewn of the very stone seemed to melt out of its surface, extending upon similarly spindly arms to close their fingers over Zach's body. His arms pinned by his sides, he was pulled against the far wall, away from Garrus and the terrified Ayanna.
"The Waking Nightmare," answered Sparda in the minds of his companions. "The ultimate manifestation of fear; illusions so horrifying and incredibly powerful they feel real in every way."
In the corner of the room, next to the door, Sparda smiled grimly to himself. Without him even having needed to explain it to Garrus and Kragen beforehand, the Nightmare had woven them flawlessly into its perverse tapestry of fear.
"Just a little longer now," he chuckled in their minds. "I'm quite sure the woman's about to break."
He probably shouldn't have been as pleased by this as he was.

Garrus was prepared to counter Zach's unwise advancement through his anger but the wall beat him to it. Now there was something he never thought he'd see, the wall physically restraining someone against their will. The turian rebel looked back to Sparda with a small expression of shock and horror on his face at how Sparda seems to be enjoying this level of mental torture. Garrus wiped that look off his face before turning back around to Zach looking to end this quickly, for both their sakes. Garrus Vakarian Look at her, Zach. She can't hold on much longer. What's more important to you? A General who left you here to rot in this cell or your friend and comrade? It's time to make a choice before it's too late.
