A blinding white light hi the Republic, as if the heavens themselves were descending upon the very rebels who had renounced the god of light so many years ago. When the light finally died down the people of the Republic could see an army marching towards their doorsteps. At the front lines were men dressed from head to toe in a beautiful silver armor equipped with spears. Behind them was the largely well known elite Black Knights who were baptized by fire. And finally at the front of the army was the god of light himself. Phalis. Riding on top of a chariot as they now stood outside of the gates of the city. Phalis thundering voice breaking through to reach the ears of all those on the other side. "Hear me, people of Xanarnis! This is your god Phalis! If you do not repent now for your transgressions against me then you will fall alongside your city. Xanarnis! You have nowhere to run or hide. Come before me now and make your choice. If you will not kneel before me then you will perish!"Phalis finished and then waited for the people to respond.

Phalis reply came in the form of armed foot soldiers, walking in-between APC units and tanks that came out from behind the gate to greet the enemy force at their doorstep. Helicopters and fighter's jets soaring through the sky and hovering above their allies on the ground waiting for the order to fire. The citizens were already being taken to the secret back passage where they could escape the city if things went bad for them. But Ashley remained in her office. Leaned back in her seat loading up the .44 Magnum in her hands and waiting.
"Go ahead..."
Ashley inserted the final bullet and cocked the hammer, the cylinder spinning to prepare the first round to be released.
"Make my day."

Delta and Eleanor did not know what was going on, they had only arrived at this city a couple of days ago after they had been teleported from Rapture. At first they had become disoriented with the new environment since they were no longer underwater, Eleanor was entranced by her surrounding more then Delta as it was the first time that she had ever seen the blue sky. Thankfully their suits didn't fail on them and they were still able to remain functional, including the air filters surprisingly, however Eleanor had decided to explore the place wanting to know everything that she had missed out while she was underwater.
Of course Delta didn't mind it at all, he was loyal to Eleanor and as long as she was safe he didn't care if he was walking into pitch black darkness. However he always kept a watchful eye around them in case there were people or elements that would attack them. They then arrived at the city and at first the guards had been confused on what to do as they did not look local, but Eleanor managed to convince them that they weren't a threat and that they were foreigners from an undersea world.
They had then spent their days exploring the city, drawing eyes from all the locals and guards, but because they did not do anything other then look at wares and the landmarks they weren't deemed a threat though Delta always observed that they were being watched. Also Eleanor was awed by the technology of this city, it was beyond anything she had imagined, it was almost like they had travelled into the future as she saw things that would make even her mother drop her mouth in surprise.
Therefore it had come to a shock to both of them when they began to be ushered by the guards into a line of citizens, "What's going on?" Eleanor asked.
"Nothing that concerns you," the guard had said and any other attempts at questioning the guard became futile as Eleanor sighed and followed the citizens to the secret passages as Delta lumbered behind her, an ever-present guardian.

The cities of this world were going to be amazing things to witness, and explore. At least that was what the old dragon Helios was thinking to himself after spending a few days here in the city called Xanaris. This thing they called ‘Technology’ was something the Magical Beast had never seen before with his own eyes, and this city had some rather impressive pieces of it. Big metal boxes that seemed to rumble from something inside them that moved and carried the people around the city itself. And in multiple forms. The people were dressed quite strangely, and some of the women showed so much skin. Very odd, but then he was probably the odd one with the looks he had been getting from the first time he entered the city.
But the city itself was strange, the design of the buildings themselves was beyond anything he had seen. The taller ones looked like their own guard towers, but instead of protections, they were covered in glass. Something that couldn’t even stop an arrow. All the dragon could say was amazing design, but there on top of it was a smell he could not get over. The smoke the metal boxes put out was awful on his nose, making it hard to really get a good sense on any creature’s smell.
The people themselves thought were just as much of an amazement, there was such a strange mix, and he couldn’t really tell what much what any of them were. He had not idea how to gauge technology, but every now and then he did feel magic among them all too. It was a bit of an overload to him, even as old as he was. But then he had expected that after some things he had talk to the inhabitants of this world outside. When he had flown toward the city hidden by the rolling hills, the peaks of his mountain range just barely visible from the tops of the large hills, and entered the city after changing form away from anyone’s view behind the hills. It wasn’t that hard for him to sneak in with a simple invisibility spell past all the guards.
After that he had just begun exploring, until finding his way to the library and sleeping the nights on a building roof… though the birds seem to avoid that building once he was there. If he had his choice he would have stayed in the library and read what he could find, but a strange event began happening. It all happened while he was resting on the roof of the library with one of the books in his hand, a book on basic Physics… he couldn’t really understand it yet, but he had seen his magic go against what laws he was reading. A bright flash of light split the sky, then what he recognized the voice of a god followed. “… This is an unpleasant turn of events…” he grumbled before placing the book he was reading down on the roof before changing his spell to spread wings onto his back, and claws onto his hands. Flying to where the flash of light had happened would be faster than trying to go through the panicked crowds.
Though avoiding the strange flying machined were harder, but the panicked crowds made it so he didn’t cause a panic with his now viewable dragonic traits. Another reason to fly from building to building, or around some of the taller ones. Helios had to force himself to not stop and watch the fast flying machines with their loud roars as they flew though the skies. But the resistance allowed him to get much closer to the site of the confrontation. The strange metal behemoths that the people here called weapons. And their soldiers met what looked like elite human knights from his realm. This would have been an interesting bout if not for the god standing among the knights. A dragon could at least recognize the presence of a god. His demand for obedience though made him growl low from the roof upon which he sat in his human form, this god was one not worth even a bit of respect to a dragon, like all human gods.
Helios was already twisting spells of protection in his mind to protect himself from any power flung, but sat where he was to watch. Now he wandered where the human leader was to this, what was her reply? Unfortunately the dragon couldn’t hear it from where he sat on a building within sight of the armies. He wasn’t even trying to hide his magical aura now, an aura of thousands of years of magic, pure fire. “Pathetic god. Needs an army for people to worship him, and insists on only being feared for his worship. An evil god of light.” Helios ignored the loud speakers from one of the hovering air machines, it ordering him to go to a safe place, apparently he hadn't stayed hidden well. with the wards he was casting on himself, he would be safe. Though he thought it would be entertaining if the god had heard him, he doubted it.

"So be it."
Phalis raised up his hand and a blinding white light hit the field, shielding both himself and his men that now charged towards the foot soldiers. The Black Knights jumped on top of the APC and tanks while Phalis launched a pillar of light at the helicopters and jets in the air to blow them out of the sky while his men fought against the rebels on the ground.

The pilots in the air were protected by the light due to the shades on their eyes and the radar in the cockpit allowed them to keep track of the enemy without needing to see them with their naked eyes. The same were true for the soldiers in the tanks and APC units. The ones affected by the blinding light was the foot soldiers who shielded against it with their arms but they were protected by the firing of the tanks and aircraft towards the soldiers and Black Knights who made a run for the armored vehicles. One of the aircrafts firing a missile at Lord Phalis' chariot down below.
Xanarnis police led the people to the underground tunnel lit by torches. There were only two tunnels and each tunnel led straight down to the back of the city-state away from the fighting. Splitting the group in half they headed down the tunnels out of the city.

He'd seen the whole thing unfold. Trudging along, his ragged cloak flapping pitifully in the wind, he'd come into earshot just in time to hear the so-called god start making demands and threatening to destroy the city, and easily see the blinding light that split the heavens. It was enough to get him to pick up his pace significantly, and he practically flew over the terrain, cresting a hill and sliding to a rough stop as he looked over the scene before him. He had been standing there for perhaps a handful of seconds before he again broke into a run.
A blur of red, gold and the tattered brown and black of his dusty cloak was all that was seen as he hurled himself headlong into the battle. Along his clenched fists, there came a bright green glow over his knuckles, and he struck the first of the knights with a force like a plummeting meteor. "Shouryuuken!" Quick as lightning, he launched into an uppercut, striking one knight and sending him soaring. "Enkoukyaku!" And then he crashed to the earth like a literal meteor, surrounded by intense flames and throwing up a burst of fire as he hit ground.
Sparing a moment to look over both sides again, he could only sigh. "This is gonna be a mess..."

The earth shook as dust fell from the ceiling as people spoke in worried voices, Eleanor and Delta were able to remain with each other when the tunnels divided into two, however some families were not lucky and Eleanor wondered why a divergence was needed if they were indeed going to a safe place. It didn't make any sense to separate the people, if anything they should keep them together, "Stay close to me father," Eleanore said holding Delta's hand as he gave a low sound in return as his yellow eyes scanned the area for any threats.

And so the fighting began below, within sight of the dragon in human form. Helios saw the action’s being taken by the god, and half expecting what was coming from the god of light. To protect himself Helios raised his arms up and closed his eyes before the blinding light came. He could see when the flash was over with only some spots in his eyes when the human foot soldiers not aligned with the god could not. Were those in the metal things be protected or not? Those in the air might have been, as one shot something that was heading strait for the god and his chariot.
Helios watched the armored warriors start going after the city inhabitant protectors, going after the metal vehicles mostly, but it appeared some were going after the foot soldiers. As he watched, then one of the warriors were able to get close, their blades would cleave right through the foot soldier’s and their… weapons, were not every effective at blocking. They were some sort of ranged weapon with the explosions. It didn’t seem to work as well as it should against the enchanted armor of the god’s soldiers. The vehicles seemed to be better protected.
“Seems unfair match soldier versus warrior. I need to even the field a bit to make this more interesting.” Heliso said with a grin before he stopped hiding his aura and stood up. In the air he began etching runes of magic, though each one glowed green as his finger drew them in a circle in the air. As he drew each one his voice mumbled the words for the spell. After a short moment he placed his hand in the center of the circle and said the last word of the spell loudly and pushing magic into the spell. Out on the battle field, each of the city soldiers outside of the metal vehicles would have runes appear on them before any blade trying to strike them. The blade would bounce off less than an inch from hitting, as if hitting stone. this would only last a short time though, maybe a dozen strikes before the spell exhausted.
After the spell, Helios sat down to watch the fight. Any who was sensitive to magic would feel like an active volcano had just awakened from where Helios sat. though the newcomer entering the fight made it even more interesting, especially as he joined it literally seeming like a meteor.

Lord Phalis looked into the Life Force of the aircrafts above. Looking into it and seeing what it was about to do in advance, he lifted his hand up and began draining the Life Force in the missile, causing it to explode prematurely destroying the aircraft. Meanwhile the Black Knights took the blunt side of the fire from the Xanarnis forces, protecting the other soldiers working under normal armor and continuing on their trek to the top of the tank and APC. The Black Knight pulling open the cockpit to grab the soldiers inside while those surrounding the APCs began to slice through it. The Black Knight's armor also protected them from the fire that generated from the newcomer.
The interference from Helios didn't go unnoticed by the God of Light as Phalis shifted his attention towards him. Raising up his hand again but this time creating a bolt of lightning and launching it at Helios.

The jet blew up and its remains came raining down upon the Elysios soldiers and their god. The tanks activated their shields keeping the Black Knights at bay long enough to allow the tanks to roll forward and run them over. Crushing them beneath their weight as the gun turrets on the APC units started unloading upon the knights with armor piercing rounds. The remaining jets and helicopters in the air providing aerial cover for the soldiers on the ground who took full advantage of the runes now on their bodies, smacking the end of their rifles towards the face of the warriors opposing them.
The Xanarnis police led both groups to the light at the end of the tunnels. Rejoining outside at the back of the city and crossing the land heading for the port city of Ekaris which acted as a shelter for humans, or anyone else non elf, who had nowhere else to go. There they would wait until they received word from the Republic that it was safe to return.

So everyone was rejoined once they made it outside of the city, at least there is that, however Eleanor still thought that it was a bad idea to separate the people when they got to that junction point. What if one of the two tunnels collapsed and trapped, or killed, the people inside? Wouldn't that be a tragedy that could have been prevented? However at the same time Eleanor could see that if that happened at least half of the citizens would make it out...but then many would have lost friends and family, either way it was a double-edged sword.
Both of them could hear the fighting that was going on in the city and they hoped that whatever the threat was, it would be eliminated quickly, Eleanor wished that she could be there to help them since it was probably a small army trying to take over the city. However she knew that the people also needed protection as Delta seemed to have sensed what Eleanor was thinking as his yellow eyes scanned the area for any threats.

"Tch....fire does no good, huh?" He leaped backward, one arm rising up to grasp the collar of the tattered cloak shrouding his body. A swift pull, and it was torn completely to shreds, and sent flying to the winds above him. In the same instant, his opposite arm unsheathed the Z-Saber from his back, the blade flaring up with an ominous crackle and roar of energy, before settling into a barely-distinguishable hum. As he touched down again, he spared a momentary look upward to the aerial combat. The only real threat to them seemed to be the god himself, with no aerial units to oppose them. That left his attention to be fully focused on the ground.
The blade of his saber glowed blue as he leapt back into the fray. A slash at the knees of one knight, a spinning roundhouse to the head of another. A point-blank Zero Buster shot to the torso of a third. "Raijingeki!" And then the hilt of the Z-Saber crackled with electricity, and exploded in a broad cone of lightning forward.

Helios was watching the whole battle, and especially the god when he was working his power. the old dragon recognized what was happening when the god flung the lighting at him. To counter, Helios raised his hand forced a barrier of magic around himself, a last ditch defense against the attack. The lightning crackled against the barrier of magic before it finally dissipated. He growled to himself as he lowered his hand and dismissed the magic barrier. There had not been a protection spell set up specifically for lightning attacks within his own protections.
“I must be slipping. He is a human god. Of course he uses lightning. They love lightning.” As Helios grumbled he began drawing runes in the air in front of him, these ones glowing a light sky-blue color. In just a moment he had added an air element protection rune to himself that included lightning. Another moment, he put his thumb and fore-finger to his throat and they began to glow. “That was very rude, Lord Phalis. How do you have any followers with an attitude like that? Anyway. Attack me again, and I will feel the need to actually join this fight, instead of just making it interesting by evening the odds.” He said through a magically amplified voice so the people on the battlefield could hear him.

The pieces of the destroyed jet raining down upon his head did little to disturb the god while his men moved about and did their best to avoid it while others were crushed underneath its weight. The ground in front of the tanks going after the Black Knights would crack and separate them, pulling the knights out of harm's way as the tanks fell directly into the hole created by the God of Light's power. The men on foot raising up their shields and defending against the bullets of the gun turrets as Phalis threw more lightning at the aerial crafts up above. His eyes now on Helios.
"You already interfered. Your fate is the same as theirs!"
Phalis extended his hand into the sky and caused storm clouds to form above the battlefield. Rain pouring down and turning into acid threatening to burn through the Xanarnis forces and rogue agents on the field meanwhile he offered protection against the acid rain on his own knights so they would remain unharmed.
