"I think I'll go meet the other scientists first, then find a place to stay. They'll probably give me a place to stay since I'm a researcher here, but if not then I'm sure I can find a suitable accommodation for my time in Kari."

“All right.”

Sazan held up her index finger towards the top button, the floor they were on now, and went five buttons down before clicking. The elevator doors closed, and music from the speaker above began playing as the elevator went down, and stopped on the floor selected allowing the doors to open. They revealed a long corridor with several doors to the left and right with guards and scientists walking back and forth from and to different rooms. Sazan stopped one of the scientists that were walking by so she could ask them for directions.

“Excuse me, where do we go about researching the tower? Mr. Kain sent us.”

“It's just around that corner to your right,” said the man pointing towards the end of the corridor where it split off into two paths, left and right, “you can't miss it.”

“Thank you.”

Sazan walked down the corridor and turned right, exactly as the scientist said it was “can't miss” due to the large window on the wall by the door that showed the lab inside. The automatic door came open as she walked past the sensors on the door and the scientists looked over in her direction. One middle-aged male in particular stepped up from the group, with short black hair and green eyes, pushing his glasses up from the bridge of his nose before addressing the ladies.

“Can we help you?” he asked.

“Mr. Kain said to meet with you guys if Luna here wanted to become part of the Downward Spiral expedition.”

“Oh yes, Kain told us of your arrival,” replied the scientist, now looking at Luna. “Have you gone on many expeditions before?”

Sazan then pressed a button as the elevator went down for about five floors before opening, then they walked out of the elevator and into a long corridor with several doors left and right with people walking all over the place. This indeed did seem to be a good place to get lose, even Luna would have to see a map and carry one for a while before she familiarised herself with the layout of the area, though it shouldn't be too difficult as she wouldn't have to remember any trick doors or staircases like in Hogwarts.

Sazan then asked one of the scientists where the meeting point was as the scientist pointed it out, they were directed to a corridor where they were greeted with a large window on the wall that revealed a lab of some sort inside. They walked in, Luna being fascinated by the automatic doors as she looked around a bit before meeting a middle-aged scientist who asked if she had been on expeditions before. Luna smiled at that, "Yes I have with my father when we go and look for various animals for our magazine," Luna said honestly.

“This isn't exactly the same as looking for animals, just take a look at these symbols,” said the scientist as he grabbed a nearby datapad and gave it to Sazan. Images of various glowing blue symbols on the inside walls of the tower showed up, and Sazan flipped through each as the scientist continued to speak, “The writing of a super advanced alien race that are no more than mere chicken scratches to us.”

“Luna, take a look at this,” said Sazan passing the datapad to Luna.

Luna took the datapad from Sazan as she looked at the symbols, these must be the symbols that were on the tower and what the scientists are trying to uncover. Luna had taken Ancient Runes during her time at Hogwarts and some of the runes did look similar to the ones that were taught to her as she nodded, "Well some of the runes here are quite similar to the ones back home, for example this one here means power, and this one means home," she said pointing to two of the runes, "I'll need further research to figure out the rest of the runes, though usually there's a pattern that can be discerned, basically if I can figure out their equivalent of the alphabet then perhaps I can figure out words and sentences and everything else."

"Well some of the runes here are quite similar to the ones back home, for example this one here means power, and this one means home."

The scientists were amazed, and embarrassed, that this girl had figured out more about the symbols in just a few seconds than they have managed in the past several months.

"I'll need further research to figure out the rest of the runes, though usually there's a pattern that can be discerned, basically if I can figure out their equivalent of the alphabet then perhaps I can figure out words and sentences and everything else."

“That's incredible, Luna.”

“Yes... Incredible. We'll pair you up with one of our newer scientists. Mr. Lincoln!”

Theodore Lincoln turned around in his seat over in the corner and walked over to the others in the room. Smiling at Sazan and Luna as he was introduced.

“This is Theodore Lincoln. He just joined our ranks a few months ago. Mr. Lincoln, this is Grand Duchess Sazan and Luna Lovegood, the latter of which you'll be researching the tower with.”

“It's a pleasure to meet you,” he said shaking Sazan's hand.

“Likewise.”

Sazan couldn't help but smile at the man, after all he was handsome. She pushed those thoughts away however when she remembered she was a married woman while Ted extended his hand over to Luna.

“Are there any questions?”
