Ayen spotted the death glare Hotaru was giving him as a result of slipping his arm over her shoulder. He had to say Yuna was taking it a lot better. It was cute seeing her face turn red like that again, but it was ruined by the Soldier of Silence stare. He could see why she was called that. With those eyes Ayen wished she would just yell at him like a regular woman. Ayen removed his arms from the two and then tried to relieve the tension by going over to the ship's railing and knocking on the wood.
“Nice hard wood, eh ladies?”
As soon as the words came out of his mouth Ayen realized how terrible they were. This time it was his turn for his face to turn red as he quickly spoke up again to correct his previous statement.
“I mean strong wood! I mean... Oh just kill me now...”

The High Summoner's blush began to slowly fade away when Ayen took his arms off of them upon Hotaru's glare. Her eyes only blinking as Ayen started talking about the wood on the railing of the ship. Yuna's naive nature coming to the surface as the innuendo went clear over her head and she wondered what Ayen was all embarrassed about.
"Yes..."
Yuna went over to the railing, her blush finally faded completely as she felt the strength of the wood for herself before smiling over at Ayen.
"It's nice and firm."

"I'll be in the lower deck if either of you need me."
Already the Soldier of Silence has had enough of Ayen and wanted to be as far away from him on this trip as she could be. She turned her back on them and began to head for the lower deck until suddenly she was hit with a powerful dark aura that stopped her dead in her tracks. Coming from within the Spiral. Causing her violet eyes to look over to the colossal tower they could see as clear as day even from here. Though she couldn't put her finger on it the Soldier of Death and Rebirth sensed that something was happening from there that'd soon decide the fate of everyone. Perhaps it was a mistake to have shipped out now.
But it was too late to turn back.

"Yes... It's nice and firm."
Ayen couldn't believe she just said that. It only served to make his face even redder, if that was possible, as he couldn't even bring himself to look at the woman now. Was she coming onto him or was she just that naive? Ayen had no way of knowing as he was unable to read anyone's mind while embarrassed like this. It shook his focus and that was key to any telepath.
"I'll be in the lower deck if either of you need me."
“A-all right!”
That was one less person to embarrass himself in front of us any further. Ayen tried his best to ward off the redness in his face, finally starting to will it away turn back to a normal shade of white as he looked over to Yuna and gave her a smile. As he turned around though he noticed that Hotaru was still there and looking out to the tower from afar. He glanced at it to and then looked back at Hotaru with a raised eyebrow.
“Oi! You okay?”

Still naive as ever Yuna continued to smile back at Ayen before looking out to the direction of Hallowton. Enjoying the gentle breeze of the wind through her hair and the sight of Jherra over that horizon as they sailed across the ocean on their way to Elim. Hopefully to find what they were all looking for. If anyone else from Spira was lost in this world she would find them and help get them home. That was her duty after all. To save her people. This time it was from the threat of worlds colliding than a monster attacking. Yuna could only hope they'd have a world to go back to when this was all over. She turned around noticing that Hotaru was also still standing there like something was wrong. Causing the High Summoner to worry.
"What is it?"

Saturn had lingered too long as Ayen caught her looking out towards the Spiral.
"I'm fine."
Then it was Yuna turn to ask what was wrong.
"Nothing."
Saturn took off for real this time, not taking another glance back to either Ayen or Yuna as she descended down into the lower deck to rest. It was going to be a long journey or an extremely short one depending how circumstances elsewhere turned out.

"What is it?"
"Nothing."
“If you say so.”
Ayen watched Hotaru walk off, resisting the urge to look at her rear but failing and taking a quick glance in that direction before looking back towards the ocean.
“Strange girl. Then again seeing that I shoot electricity out of my hands I guess I don't have much room to talk, do I?”

Yuna saw Hotaru off with a worried expression but if she said it was nothing then Yuna would trust that it was nothing. She turned her gaze back to the horizon alongside Ayen and leaned against the railing as she enjoyed the view while listening to the blonde speak.
"I wouldn't say that... A lot of people back home could use electricity on others. There's nothing strange about you from what I see."

“Oh?”
Ayen took a couple of steps closer to Yuna as he tilted his head.
“What about telepaths?”

"That isn't so common..."
Said Yuna with a smile and another light blush along her cheeks as Ayen moved closer to her. Remembering how close they were last night during their dance on the tavern's balcony. She took a couple of steps away from Ayen and looked at him.
"Where did you learn how to do that? Read minds, I mean."

"That isn't so common..."
“I had a feeling.”
A more genuine and relaxed smile graced Ayen's facial features as he noticed yet another blush on Yuna's face. This reoccurring change of color... If Ayen didn't know any better he'd think Yuna was a chameleon.
"Where did you learn how to do that? Read minds, I mean."
Ayen shrugged.
“I just could one day. Born with it.”

So it was genetic. Yuna saw the relaxed smile on his face making her own smile grow in response. It was nice to see him so relaxed and happy after how hectic the past couple of weeks have been with traveling to Hallowton, the attack on the city and the constant back and forths between Hotaru and himself. Losing your smile was a terrible thing and something she wouldn't wish on anyone.

"Were your parents psychic?"
“Not as far as I know. They seemed just as surprise as I was when my powers awakened. I was a normal kid, normal enough anyways, up until my sixteenth birthday until my powers kicked in. Suddenly I was reading everyone's around me minds, blowing stuff up with electricity and hovering up into the air. They called it some kind of “mutant gene” I dunno. All I know is it was enough to drive me and my folks up the wall. Literally in my case... That's why I used to always hang out at the Crystal Expanse before meeting you. It was the only place on Jherra where I could find solitude. But since it melted I guess that's out of the question for my future after this trip. Oh well. It was good while it lasted.”

Mutant gene. Yuna had no idea what that was. In Spira they would have simply called it magic. How else can you explain everything he could do? Especially being able to fly without wings. Even Yuna needed Valefor in order to fly. Otherwise she was grounded like most else in Spira and right here on Genesis.
"I think it would be amazing to fly without wings."
Her smile diverted into a frown momentarily as he talked about the lost of his place of solitude.
"Are you unable to get much quiet with Hotaru and I?"

"I think it would be amazing to fly without wings."
Ayen smiled at that comment. It definitely was a liberating feeling and something the blonde would love to share with somebody else. He'd have to remind himself to ask Yuna if she'd want to go on a flight with him one day. It wouldn't be the same as flying on her own but she'd be able to further understand what it was like and it'd be the closest she could ever get.
"Are you unable to get much quiet with Hotaru and I?"
“I'm not able to get much quiet with Hotaru period but that is neither here nor there. I can honestly say that I do not mind hearing your thoughts in the least.”
