The time is now
We see flashes of the blond child with the gray eyes,
the noir haired boy with the pale complexion,
the neon sign trashed on the ground,
and one final look at the large black Gothic house where they lived.
We come for the traitors of our court and the remainder of our world
Suddenly the child's voice could be heard by all in Hallowton, echoing across the walls of every building and into the homes of every resident as dark storm clouds concealed the blue skies above turning day into night.
Make way for our creator – the one whose hand bring judgment
When the citizens of Hallowton, who left their homes to follow the sound of the voice, looked up they would find looking down upon them...
The vengeful face of a god long thought dead.

Where one might expect mass panic, there was for a long moment a deathly silence. No whispers of fear were uttered, no breeze rode the night - not even the creaks of swinging doors could be heard as more people joined the crowd that looked upon this god.
Then came the echoes. Deep, chilling footsteps reaching out into the darkness as a lone, violet-clad demon traversed the streets. His namesake blade in his right hand, and the sleek silhouette of Revelation in his left, the Legendary Dark Knight turned his cerulean gaze up to the disturbingly familiar figure that floated above the town, looking almost balefully down upon them.
"Never..." Sparda murmured to himself. In the still of the night, though, his voice carried like the whispers of a ghost. "Never did I think I'd see your face again..."

Zira tossed and turn in her sleep inside her room at the mansion. Family and Arashi alike plaguing her dream as Maricul proved to be the only pleasant part before she was snatched away. Finally her sleeping state could take no more and she woke up with a death grip on her own sheets. The Firebird didn't even have time to calm down as a familiar force caused the small hairs on the back of her neck to stand up.
"No. No it can't be."
Zira quickly got up from her bed and equipped the Force Edge and Ebony and Ivory from her world before going outside to see the one face in her life she thought was actually behind her. But no. There it was in all it's divine glory looking down at the populace of Hallowton, Sparda already on the scene. Pure rage burned inside of the Firebird just at the fact that Mundus was hovering above them.
"YOU'RE DEAD! YOU HEAR ME!? I KILLED YOU, YOU SHOULD BE DEAD!"

Grey Everlost had only been in Hallowtown a day; he had learnt of much from the library he'd scoured this past 14 hours. His studies finished and his eyes bleary and tired, he reached inside a coat with pockets deeper than a black hole. He was about to bring out some sort of paper, until the echo came. He smirked and simply drew out his scythe instead, then with his free hand retrieved a pistol. "Sounds like this might be- " He was about to say fun; stopped by the massive sight in the sky. The face vaguely familiar, he suddenly recalled it from a small book in his own library; something about a god destroyed. He stared at it with his dark hair finally sitting somewhat orderly, and his blue eyes glanced over the features and recalled the words echoed.
Speaking to his jacket, it seemed, he whispered in an annoyed tone, "I'll get you back, Sister. I'll get you back with the power of a god"
And with that, he stared at the sky's new image, more than ready to fight to the death for his sister. His scythe glinted slightly, and he sighed with feigned annoyance. "What a nuisance."

Stone eyes in the cloudy sky looked down to see the masses staring up at him not out of fear but in awe. Within the mass would be a pair of eyes that struck a memorable cord with the Prince of Darkness. The eyes of betrayal.
"Sparda..."
His voice was like that of thunder, threatening to destroy the eardrums of the peaceful residence in Hallowton. The demon outstretched his arms and then pointed a finger at the wound in his chest.
"I haven't forgotten that day."
Another familiar cry gathered the Prince of Darkness' attention as he turned slightly to the right to see one of his many creations down below unleashing their anger towards his presence.
"Zira... You still wear their skin? Very well then. If you are so intent on living like them then you will die like one of them!"
Mundus had moved his hand to launch his first attack until he noticed a third person down below that stood out from the crowd of Hallowton natives.
"What's this? You too?"
A strong blast of demonic energy shot out of Mundus' palm, colliding into the ground at the center of the city causing the ground to collapse and people to fall in the hole left behind in the blast. Their screams would soon fill all of Hallowton as climbing out of the hole in their place were the legions of hell. Legions that Sparda and Zira would no doubt recognize.
"Rise my people. Let us take this world into the nineth circle of hell!"

Grey was quick to act on this god's magic; he jumped high and called out "Levi!".
Hanging suspended in the air, he looked down into something that caused even the youths conviction to falter momentarily. Looking back to the god, he sort of growled and then seemed to concentrate.
"Illius!", he cried, and it seemed that about 20 new copies of Grey appeared, all just as strong willed in appearance as the original. Most of the copies then raced off, leaving only 4 Greys behind. The first larger squadron quickly raced about the hole, trying as hard as they could to save as many they could.
"Why does everybody bloody love their magic!?", He muttered as he and several clones raced to drop people out of the city.
"It's such a nuisance for me . . . ". The second squadron of Grey's split into teams of two; one left and one right. They smirked, nodded at each other, and aimed their pistols at a small steeple of a church in the town. Firing, they unleashed a barrage of bullets, seemingly at each other. It gathered into a sphere of dark energy, however, and was building exponentially by the bullet; two reloaded as the other two unloaded their clips into the new shadow orb. Finally, all four stopped firing, and rushed the now massive orb, and using their scythes, launched it to the god, screaming a cry that sounded more desperate than brave. "For Lia! Dark Death Cannon!"
It traveled quickly, and split into a hailstorm of black missiles. As it flew to the god, all the Grey's stopped to see if the attack would indeed do anything. . . . "And this is why people don't go to Church on a Monday" the original Grey mused with a smirk.

Those lost to the fires of hell would be enslaved by it as former humans crawled out of the hole and joined the rest of Mundus' armies as devils. They charged towards Sparda, Zira and Grimm weapons from spears, lances, scythes, swords and their own claws striking down upon those who would dare oppose the will of the Prince of Darkness. Following in the footsteps of Vergil who once succumb to the same will. The will that Sparda once followed before his betrayal.
Mundus took the hailstorm of black to the chest but stood unmoved by the blast. His third eye opened wide and emerging from it a blinding white light as his counter-attack soon came into play, a thin narrow beam of strong demonic energy shot out from the third eye looking to destroy the original Grimm in one blast. The same one used to punish the traitor Trish many years ago.

Just as he had disposed of Trish, Mundus brought forth a lance of pure white energy to run through the interloper who had attacked him.
Just as he had failed to dispose of Dante the same way, he would not find his mark this time.
In an instant, Sparda was stood in front of Grimm, eyes glowing an infernal red - and the beam of energy simply stopped dead in front of him, as if deadlocked against an invisible barrier. The Dark Knight kept his eyes fixed upon Mundus, filled with contempt and vengeance, before he almost casually inclined his head upwards and sent the searing energy beam skyward, out of the way.
"I don't suppose the old dog's learned any new tricks, by any chance?" the demon called, his voice dripping with sardonic malice. "Because if he hasn't, this is going to be a painfully short fight..."
Revelation's blade wreathing itself in black miasma, Sparda's in crimson flames, the Dark Knight readied himself for a battle he had thought he would never have to repeat. Mundus' legions surged forth like a great swarm of unholy locusts, set to devour all in their path; all that awaited them was the darkness of oblivion as Sparda swung Revelation in a horizontal arc and sent a wave of opaque fog rolling forth, a manifestation of the seething menace of his nigh-countless familiars.
The Prince of Darkness' many soldiers rushed headlong into the wall of fog, intent on breaking through to bear down upon their master's nemesis... They didn't come out. One by one, they were swiftly consumed by the unseen darkness within, their very souls rent from their bodies and consigned to join their destroyers in servitude to Sparda. Not even their bones remained to mark the silent massacre.

Led by the tip of her blade the Force Edge, the Firebird charged into the mass of demons with a Stinger but at the last fraction of a second she moved to the right and hit them hard and fast with a Million Stab. A High Time was performed hurling many lesser demons into the air as she switched to Ebony and Ivory to blast back some more of the demonic forces back before following up with an Aerial Rave and a Dance Macabre.
Zira wished her sister could have been here and she would have been in a heartbeat if it she wasn't already needed elsewhere. But that did leave the question of where Argus was now in this time of crisis. Technically he was Amoura and he would have sensed the Prince of Darkness' return so where was he? Fire burst out from her fingertips and consumed the demons opposing her as for now she would have to leave the old man himself to Sparda. It was a good thing Other wasn't here. Then they'd never hear the end of it.

Post by Lord Beelzebub on Feb 19, 2012 20:32:01 GMT -6
A great evil has arisen over the landscape of Hallowton and the spokesman of darkness could keep quiet no longer.
For months now he has chosen to remain in the shadows. Manipulating things behind the scenes to where even the strongest of men were ignorant to his influence and presence but now it was time for the Lord of Demons to return to the forefronts of this war.
He moved like lighting and roared like thunder. Lord Beelzebub appeared in the skies in all his glory and slammed his body into that of Mundus which would cause massive damage on impact.
There could only be one Prince of Darkness.

Mundus was knocked backward through the air by the power and sheer body mass of Lord Beelzebub. His eyes looked over to the demon recognizing his power as equal to his own before drawing a large demonic blade from his sheath and holding it upright as he charged towards the other Prince of Darkness, the false Prince of Darkness, his shoulder ramming into the demon to force him back before bringing the blade up in an upper-cut formation for his chest.

Mundus would meet nothing but air as already Lord Beelzebub was above him.
His eyes and mouth lit up like fire, smoke left his nostrils as his black wings began flapped through the air. A great roar shot out of the mouth of the great beast laying waste to Mundus' armies and the people of Hallowton as the flames of hell poured out of the eyes and mouth of Lord Beelzebub into the wound left behind by the great Black Knight centuries ago.

...Wait a minute. Where the hell did Beelzebub just come from?
The soldiers had been repelled for now, but Sparda was fixed upon the sight above him, and frankly dumbstruck. Had Beelzebub sensed this god amongst demons, this perceived threat to his own power, and come to remove it?
Slowly, the Dark Knight made his way over to Zira, lashing out to cut down the occasional demon footman who got too close. Through the streets, great plumes of thick black smoke rose up seemingly out of nowhere as the demon pitted his familiars against Genesis' devil, rising as a great barrier to keep his infernal flames from progressing any further.
"Are you seeing what I'm seeing, Zira?" he asked the Firebird. "I... I actually don't know what to do about this. Do we just let them go at each other's throats or...?"
Inside, Sparda was laughing in spite of himself. Despite the insane danger the town was in, there was something morbidly hilarious about this situation.

The Firebird looked above her in shock at the sight she was present to see. Two devils, two gods of demons, two Princes of Darkness battling it out for supremacy. Two beings that were the same yet at the same time remarkably different from each other. Zira would be all for letting them battling it out if they weren't so dangerously close to innocent people that could get caught up in the crossfire.
"We need to guide this fight away from the city."
Preferably without interfering in it directly but if that what they had to do that what they had to do. Zira made a run towards the hole Mundus had created, slicing through the demons that attempted to stop her before coming to a stop before using her own power to seal it off so no more demons could enter the city.

Mundus didn't wait for the fire from Lord Beelzebub's mouth to reach him and instead charged head first into the flames with a Prop Shredder, the spinning sword repelling the flames away and sending them towards Sparda, Zira and other innocent bystanders be them demon or otherwise as he quickly closed the gap between himself and the opposing god with the same move.
