"It's complicated."
Came Zira's reply at long last and already she could see the hypocrisy in her words as it was Aminee who first said them and she who originally hard on her for it. The Firebird struggled to find the words to explain it all without getting too tangled up in all of the details that made it as complicated it was.
"To put it simply, we're enemies. Or at least we were. I'm not sure anymore. Either way it's inevitable that the two of us will have to fight sooner or later and this, what we feel for each other, it just doesn't work."

Aminee's eyebrow curled up when she heard the familiar words of her own come out of Zira's mouth and the Firebird must have noticed it too as already the Pop Idol could see the look of guilt visible on the woman's features but Aminee would say nothing on the subject as she now listened to Zira try to explain what were keeping her apart from this Maricul. "You may end this conversation at any time but while you still feel like sharing I want to ask, why are the two of you enemies to begin with? Why is a fight with her inevitable?"

Zira shook her head. There were no way she felt like going into all that complicated detail right now, especially when Aminee knew next to nothing about the supernatural world. They'd be here all week.
"I'm sorry. It's impossible to explain it to someone who has little experience dealing with the supernatural."

"Impossible or do you just not want to talk about it?" Aminee folded her arms, a small smile found on her facial features to let Zira know that she was just teasing her. "The supernatural doesn't really exist in my world. At least to my knowledge it doesn't. There's the belief and strange things that people write off as being paranormal but normally there are logical explanations too that one can find if they just know where to look." And after some of the things she's seen in this world already she was glad for that. "I miss my home. I had everything a girl my age could want. Fame, money, power, heh... boys. The total package."

Zira stuck out her tongue at Aminee and released a quiet laugh before listening to the woman share about her life. She had finally gotten her to open up just as she wanted to do. A reasonable doubt when it came to the supernatural sounded nice and it was something she always envied of the humans. Before the invasion many humans in the modern age had no reason to believe in demons. It was kept by many of them and they lived ignorant of it all. Now that ignorance was gone and they were constantly reminded of them at every turn.
"You were famous? What were you famous for?"

"I was a Pop Singer. I wrote my own songs, made up my own dance choreographs. That sort of thing." Aminee was reminiscing, remembering all of the times she was told she revolutionized music. How she was the next Michael Jackson. How she ate people like Miley Cyrus and Justin Beiber for breakfast. The memories made her smile but that all they were now. Memories. "My last album sold 40million copies worldwide. I've most likely been presumed dead so no telling how many more copies it's sold since."

"That's amazing."
She sounded like the female Michael Jackson, minus the album records but 40million albums worldwide were still a huge accomplishment nonetheless. It made the Firebird want to hear a sample of her music, assuming she had the desire to demonstrate. Something told her that wasn't the case right now.
"And you're so young. How old are you anyway?"

"I was eighteen when I came here. Nineteen as of last September. I've been stuck in this world for seven months." It was the first time in years hardly anyone made a big deal about her birthday. That may seem trivial to a lot of people but to the Pop Idol it only further cemented the realization of her situation. This wasn't her world and never would be. She didn't belong here but had no choice but to be involved in its affairs. It was extremely frustrating to feel so powerless. Especially for her, considering...
"How long have you been here?"

"Long enough."
After you've lived as long as Zira has one tend to lose all meaning of time. All the Firebird knew, all she needed to know, was that she has been in this world far longer than any of them should have been and it only meant that her own world was without their beacon of hope which she has became thanks to wielding the Force Edge. But for now all she could do was keep fighting to keep all of existence from unraveling more than what they already have.

"I see." Aminee's eyes went over to the exit of the room and then to her watch realizing just how much time has passed since coming up here. "It's getting late. I'm going to call it a night. It was nice speaking with you, I hope to do it again some time." The Pop Idol offered Zira a warm smile and then walked over to the ladder and descended down, heading back to the base where she could get a good night's rest.

"You too."
Zira watched Aminee take her leave and then returned her gaze upon the window of the tower. Although she knew she shouldn't, deep down inside the Firebird wanted to indulge herself in the emotions of the people here just a little while longer. Five minutes. Five minutes were all she needed and then she'd be content. That what she told herself anyway but after she concentrated and stretched herself throughout Isafaro five minutes became ten, ten became fifteen, fifteen became twenty and it continued until she finally drained all her energy and passed out inside the tower. Glad her family and friends couldn't see her now.
