"Wait!" Before Zira could reach the exit the Pop Idol stood to block her path. "I-I'm sorry. I overreacted before. We both did." Being slammed against the wall a couple of times was a bit more than simply 'overreacting' to Aminee but there was no point getting in all of that. "This world is hard enough to adjust to without adding all the supernatural elements that you and your friend provides so I acted harshly. I apologize."

"It's fine."
Zira stopped her path towards the exit and instead turned back around towards the window of the bell tower and walked over by the wall next to it, leaning next to it while folding her arms and looking out the window back to the vast metropolis forever in darkness.
"So what's your story? How did you get involved in all of this?"

Aminee put her gun away, she wouldn't be needing it. Her eyes returned to Zira and upon hearing her question the Pop Idol struggled to find the words to answer it. Clearly not wanting to go over the rape that broke her. At the end that what it all came back to. She had no reason to want to get involved with the cause here. She felt no moral obligation to anyone. It was payback. That all it was. Isafaro's dogs hurt her and while she couldn't kill anyone she wanted to hurt them right back.
"It's complicated."

"Is it complicated or do you just not want to talk about it?"
Zora didn't expect an answer to that question and she wasn't pushing for one. If Aminee rather not talk about it then the Firebird would respect her privacy and instead disclose some information about her own life and motivations in the hopes that it would help earn the woman's trust and she would be willing to open up to her. True, Zira could just as easily read her mind and know everything but what was the fun in that? Aminee wasn't her enemy and there was no real need or rush for the information so mind reading wasn't an option to the Firebird.
"I'm on the road of redemption myself. My father was a monster and for a while, years really, I was just like him. Living day by day stepping on anyone who stood in my way. Together we conquered the whole world back in our realm and twisted it, turning it into a post-apocalyptic nightmare where people did everything and anything they could to survive. One day I came to a realization, while reading human emotions no less. I realized everything that I've done up to that point was wrong and then worked to rectify my mistake. To atone for the sins I've committed against man. I defied my father and fought against him."

"It's complicated!" Aminee snapped back, coming off a bit more aggressive than she intended. While she apologized for her earlier behavior and harsh judgment that was not a permission slip for Zira to go asking personal questions about her life, but it certainly wouldn't stop the woman from going into her own. The Pop Idol simply listened to the story and then tried to put images to the words the Firebird was saying, having to constantly remind herself that she was in fact a demon and not a human woman. "So, if you're a demon does that mean your father is the devil?"

"All right, it's complicated. I get it. No need to get snippy on me."
Zira couldn't help but smile a little at Aminee's next question, her ignorance of demons being made clear and the Firebird felt guilty almost that she was about to remove that ignorance with knowledge, but at the same time perhaps it was better this way. It was only a matter of time before she'd see a demon with the intent on taking her life. Best know what to expect beforehand.
"My father was the devil but that is not so for every demon. I guess in a way we are all sons and daughters of Lucifer, as you know him, but demons mate and have families just like humans do. Some times they cross-breed with other species. My friend Sparda for instance, he fell in love with a human woman and had twin sons who are human, demon hybrids. My father chose to mate with a vampire woman and created my sister who is a demon, vampire hybrid. Like all things it depends on the individual."

Demons, mating, having babies and even cross breeding? Aminee had a headache already. The Pop Idol liked it better when they were just monsters who tried to kill you or stood as metaphors for your own personal issues that hold you back in your life. "As we know him? What do you know him as then?" This could be a wasted question as the devil was known to have many different names but she'd thought to ask it anyway. And one more thing, "Vampires can have children?"

"Mundus the Prince of Darkness."
The Dark Emperor, the Devil King, Pluto, Devil Prince. These were just some of the titles her father held in the past after rising to power in the Demon World.
"Two millennia ago, during one snowy night in the Human World, my father was born into the depths of the Demon World. After that he quickly rose to power and planned an assault on the Human World, not content with just ruling over the Demon World. But one of his chief generals, my friend Sparda, he awoke to justice and fought against Mundus and his armies single-handedly, doing the impossible and defeating them before sealing up the gate to the Underworld. Sparda is regarded highly in my world by the humans, and detested by the demons that only do evil. He was the inspiration for my own awakening."
Zira turned back around to face Aminee before addressing her next question:
"In my world they can."

"I see..." The story was a little different in Zira's world, for starters demons were actually real. Though in her world the devil is believed to have been an angel in heaven first, an archangel if Aminee was remembering it right, and then fell from heaven with a group of angels that rebelled alongside him. From there different people came up with different stories and what the devil actually does. It never interested the Pop Idol though. Until now she never believed in any of it.
"How is that even possible? I thought vampires were supposed to be dead."

"Their bodies are reanimated when the disease kicks in after being bitten. It's not crazy to think that it would include procreation so they'd have some way to carry on though it's rare for two vampires to have children together. It usually happens by accident between a vampire and human lover."
Anything more than that on vampire procreation and Zira would be just as lost as Aminee was. The Firebird never really thought to ask for many specifics and there were some things you just never wanted to know. Having sex with one in general was already intense, Zira didn't want to imagine what it'd be like having a child with one. Though that was something she'd never have to worry about. The only vampire she ever slept with was of the same gender as her making procreation impossible.
Zira lowered her head and got lost in deep thought. This time because of Maricul. It was hard for her to focus these days as the vampiress always found a way into her mind and talking about vampires, vampire having sex and making babies no less, was just asking for it. Maricul had three children, each from a different father. One from the Demon Slayer Dante himself. And all three times Maricul left her children to fend for themselves. Could a relationship really work between them? Would they even be able to raise any kind of a family together? The answer was obvious and that why she hated asking it to herself. She knew she could never have anything serious with Maricul and that hurt her more than anything.
"Sorry. I spaced out for a moment there. Was there anything else you'd like to know?"

"Disease?" Aminee walked over by Zira's side and took a glance out the window of the tower before looking back at her. "Never heard it refer to as a disease before. Makes sense I guess. What's on your mind?" The Pop Idol could tell something was up with Zira. The way she just blacked out like that with no prior warning, staring out into space. The signs were all there. Of course if she didn't want to talk about it Aminee would respect her privacy as Zira respected hers.

Now it was Zira's turn to be on the receiving end of a question she didn't want to answer but at the same time she thought it would be good to finally get it off of her chest. And as strange as it was, talking to a stranger about these sort of problems were far easier than talking to a close personal friend about them.
"There's this girl. Maricul. She's everything parents warn their children about and more. It started out as a fling at first. Just one of many on her resume. But before we knew it the two of us were developing strong romantic feelings towards one another."
Halfway through Zira leaned up against the wall next to the window where Aminee now stood and stared up at the ceiling.
"The problem is she and I stand for everything the other despise."

"Maricul?" Odd name. "Does she know you're a demon?" Aminee couldn't relate. She was still young and hasn't been around long enough to fall in love with anyone. But there were plenty of people back in her world who has fallen in love with her and her music. The Pop Idol wondered what they were doing now. Had they presume her dead and are now mourning or have they forgotten her entirely? "Let me guess, she's a demon hunter."

"Yes. She knows."
Maricul knew everything really. More than any of her friends and family members knew. And Zira could tell she knew a lot more about Maricul than anyone else who knew her. It made the Firebird feel guilty. Guilty because she could open herself up more to enemies and complete strangers than that of friends and family. But there were just some things the people close to her couldn't understand. Amoura and Sparda in particular.
"No she isn't a demon hunter."
Zira wished her problem was that simple.
"We're just on opposite spectrums."

"I'm sorry I don't understand." Aminee sat down underneath the window still of the tower, pulling her legs close together and holding them to her chest while resting her chin on top of them. "If she knows you're a demon and doesn't care what's keeping the two of you from being together exactly?"
