The Supreme King took a look around and frowned. This was as good a place as any for what he had in mind. His mind took in the area the cold not really bothering him. It touched him, but he wouldn’t let it concern him. Even though the added protection of his armor it was still a bit nip, but he had work to do. Why let such a small thing stop him from it?

His eyes wondered beyond the expansive however. Somehow. The Light of Destruction had also reached this world. It had to be dealt with. When and how were the question. Still the he was drawn to it. A clash between the two was inventible. However it would be on his terms. His gaze returned to the present. And then there was the matter of his other self.

He had been careless the first time. This time there would no such luck. He meant to stay and so far the sway he held over his other half was unchallenged as it should be. The two others that were linked to him were far more challenging. Yubel he thought he could at the very least trust not to kill him. Honest on the other hand was another matter entirely. What effect would killing him have? Would it harm himself as well?

a figure darted over the landscape. white wings spread wide behind her, the female dove into the valleys and let her wings brush against the snow. this place was so beautiful! it was absolutely wonderful and she couldn't believe it. "nebulas this place is so wonderful! look all this snow!" the female exclaimed as she calm to a halt in the air. the wings barely moving behind her. the wind pulled at her long brown hair and she smiled. pale grey eyes scanned over the landscape again and rested on the black and white tiger below her. "mistress would you quit flying around so much! and please put on your cloak you don't need to get sick." the tiger called up to her cloak in it's mouth. usually tigers can't talk but nebulas was very special to her and they were connected in a unique way. with a bit of a frown, the female dropped to the ground and grabbed the cloak. her wings folded behind her but didn't completely disappear.

"you worry too much neby. I'll be fine. it's not like there is anyone else out here anyways." the female leaned down and placed a soft his on his head. a soft smile came over her when his gold and pink aura came into sight. it was a beautiful shade of gold with streaks of pink running through it. "mistress quit looking at my aura." the tiger muttered softly before looking away from her. the female blushed and began to walk a little bit. "sorry neby you know I can't help it at times." another soft breeze blew and shifted her hair about her shoulders as the female turned her attention to the land. out in the distance she saw something. well more of she saw the aura of something. her wings shifted slightly and nebulas came up to her side pressing his head against her shoulder. the most prominent color she could see was black, but every now and then a bright color would show it's self. "w-who is that over there?" she wondered placing a hand on nebulas' head.

The King took a look around. His eyes narrowed a bit. There was something here. He wasn’t alone, but what was here is the question. It was something about it. Though it was too late to stop what had been planned here. There was something strange about the presence. He frowned. No, it was more than one. Two of them he knew. Or rather his other half did. Perhaps now would be the time to eliminate them.

His frown turned into a smirk as he started forward. The less people Jaden had to help him the better as his other half saw it. Still the question of Honest weighed heavily on him. It would be more difficult to dispose of him because of his connection to him, still he would figure out a way.

A ball of fluff could be seen roaming the area of the Crystal Expanse along with that of a Cat. Pharaoh to be exact. A small Yellow orb floated inside of that cat. Banner was getting quite impatient. ”Are you even sure of where we are?” he asked as it wasn’t as if he had a choice. His cat had chosen to follow Winged Kuriboh and it did love to have him around. ”Kuri” it said turning around to look at them before pointing to the person in front of them.

Banner frowned. ”Well you would be cranky to if you were stuck inside of a cat.” he mumbled before the odd pair finally reached the two. Winged Kuriboh appeared beside them as Pharaoh yawned letting Banner out of it’s stomach. ”Kuriii.” it said to them. Although to them that didn’t mean much. Banner appeared beside of his cat in a semi transparent form. ”Allow me. He wants to know if you’ve seen a young duelist in black around here.”

Winged Kuriboh turned to him and gave him a puzzled look. ”Kuriii.” it said in response to that. Banner let out a sigh. ”I know you asked for Jaden, but I doubt they know him very much.” he said before focusing his attention back on Ailis. ”I am Professor Lyman Banner. And this is Winged Kuriboh and my cat Pharaoh.” he said introducing them all.

the female's eyes widened as a few people seemed to appear in front of her, well not really people. it was more like a furry floating thing and a cat that just yawned out a ball of energy. out of surprise she jumped behind nebulas and he took a defensive position. fangs bared, he let out a low growl. "um who are you guys?" the female muttered poking her head up from behind nebulas. carefully she climbed onto his back her wings shifting a bit for balance. "mistress I believe one of them isn't actually real." the female tilted her head to the side as she laid on nebulas' back. "hmm well there is a gentleman with a black aura standing not to far from here. perhaps that is the man you are looking for?" smiling the female ran her fingers through nebulas' fur, eyeing the group before her.

shifting her wings a bit, the female sat up so she was riding the big tiger. "my name is ailis and it's a pleasure to meet you guys. but let's go see the man and see if that's who you are looking for!" gripping onto nebulas' fur, she gave a small tug and he took off in the direction of the black aura. she was nervous about approaching someone with such a dark aura. but it didn't always mean something bad. perhaps he is a trapped human being? whatever the case may be she wanted to give him a hand. wings spreading behind her, the feathers ruffled in the wind. "mistress is this a good thing to do? we've never had a good run in with black auras." the tiger questioned rumbling beneath her. "hush nebulas perhaps there is something we can do to help this one." ailis smiled warmly as her fingers ran through his fur.

Banner stared at her as he adjusted his glasses, not that he really needed them anymore. He coughed into his hand. A black aura? Well that certainly could mean many things, but it didn’t necessarily mean it was Jaden. ”Actually I don’t think that’s…” he started as she ran off and he was left with his hand outstretched. ”a good idea.” he finished as Winged Kuriboh started to wonder off in that direction.

”And where do you think you’re going.” Banner asked as Winged Kuriboh turned around and pointed at the direction Ailis had gone. ”Kuri.” it said as Banner frowned. ”Wouldn’t you rather just play a nice safe game of cards?” Banner offered before Pharaoh jumped up and swallowed the orb and Winged Kuriboh took off after them.

The King stared out at the crystal expanse as the two stopped. What could those two be looking for, if he was lucky he would eliminate them without too much of a fuss from his other half. He started walking in the direction of the spirits he felt when he was interrupted by the appearance of another. His eyes took her in. Was this the one he had sensed? His eyes fell on the tiger for a moment as he considered her question.

No, they were still out there and coming fast he turned his attention back to her for the moment. ”You may call me the Supreme King.” he said as the other two finally arrived and Banner floated back out. ”Pharaoh why do you insist on carrying me around?” he said as he took in the scene in front of him. ”On second thought that might not be so bad.” he said as Winged Kurbioh stepped forward and puffed up obviously not afraid of him.

”Yes that’s him.” Banner said uncertainly as Winged Kuriboh got closer and closer it’s light starting to pierce the darkness to his soul. The Supreme King put a hand to his head as the aura about suddenly changed rapidly back and forth as if fighting for control. For a few second it would seem as if the light had taken control as his aura would be filled with it only a hint of darkness ”Winged……” he said taking a long pause in between as if it was difficult for him. ”Kuriboh….” he said as Banner started to smile before the Darkness surged back stronger than before.

The Supreme King hadn’t been expecting him to fight back that hard, but he wouldn’t allow him another chance for that connect as his duel disk activated and the darkness around him seemed to grow to encompass the entire area.

upon her approach, the white tiger slowed and the female climbed off his back. her wings shifted behind her and pale grey eyes settled on the man before them. his aura seemed to flash between her eyes and that is when she finally understood. that cat with the talking ball and furry thing with wings were looking for this man. but there was something wrong. the black aura seemed to be covering something, almost smothering it. for a second she could see the light of the other boy's aura leak through. it seemed to be in response to the furry thing with wings. "you must be the duelist! my name is ailis and this is nebulas. we happened to be wandering around and saw you standing here." the female was smiling brightly at the young man but nebulas was moving in front of her to protect her. ailis's eyes widened when his the thing on his wrist activated.

"mistress I don't think he wants to talk..." nebulas mutter baring his fangs at the young man in black. ignoring him and his warnings, the female moved to stand in front of him. the darkness seemed to leak from him and with a simple raise of her hand it stopped. "why are you doing this young one? the group behind me only wants to help you." bits and pieces of what was happening seemed to flow into her mind. there was a boy trapped inside that dark shell and she was concerned. sure she didn't know who these people were and who knows what kind of dangers she was getting herself into, but she wanted to help. "mistress please let's just walk away from this, you don't know what you are getting into." nebulas growled again his two tails seemed to brush against him.

The Supreme King only gave Ailis a single glance before diverting his attention to Winged Kuriboh and Banner. ”This doesn’t concern you.” he said simply as Banner took a step back as he looked at the Tiger for a moment before turning his attention back to Ailis. ”I’m afraid that’s not Jaden.” he said as Kuriboh puffed up more as if it alone was determined to get it’s friend back.

”I’m afraid that is his darker half.” he said as he eyed the tiger again. ”Yes, well I agree with the Tiger. Perhaps it is time to go.” he said as his usual cowardice set in. He really didn’t want to be part of whatever the other hand in mind. ”Kuriiii.” Winged Kuriboh said as it puffed itself up. Banner shook his head as The Supreme King drew a single card.

He placed it on the duel disk as Evil Hero Infernal Gainer appeared beside the him as he lifted his finger in the direction the two were standing. ”Yes well I think it’s time we got going.” he said as the monster charged forth ready to destroy both of them where they stood.

without a second thought, the female moved in front her companions. her aura flared and her wings wrapped around her completely blocking his attack. with swift movements, her wings pushed the being back and nebulas lunged tearing it to shreds. "mistress! stop acting so rash!" the tiger growled standing between the dark man and the female. wings folding behind her, ailis blushed slightly and looked down. "I'm sorry neby but they were going to get hurt." the female tugged at the edge of her shirt playing with it lightly. nebulas growled and turned so he was facing the dark young man. "you there boy in black. I suggest you stop your attacks against us." the wind blew softly and white feathers seemed to move and dance around the female. ailis winced slightly and the sharp smell of blood filled the air.

nebulas let out a low growl when the smell of blood hit his nose. the female wouldn't say anything and neither would he. "these men claim to be your friends! how could you attack them! they just want to help you!" the female cried out to the young man. she could see the aura of someone fighting against the darkness. it broke her heart to see such a person trapped. "while you are at it let that boy go! you are doing nothing but hurting him!" the wound on her wing bled and the red looked odd on her white feathers. she wanted to talk to that boy. the one that was being drowned by darkness. maybe she could coax him back out in the open. but if she tried to connect with him it would leave both of them open for attack. the female bit her lip nervously as she walked up next to nebulas and placed a hand on his head.

Banner closed his eyes as the attack closed in and turned his head. He didn’t want to watch. It would seem however that fate had other plans for him rather than die again. It would seem the person that had joined them decided to save them despite not really knowing them. Banner eyed her for a small second before his gaze hardened slightly as Winged Kuriboh puffed itself up. Nebulas however would find itself only scratching the armor on the monster.

The Supreme King leveled a stare at the new comer. She had deflected his attack, but not without some difficultly and she had hurt herself to do so. How foolish of her. And for what? Total strangers. ”Why do you interfere? This isn’t your fight.” he told them simply. He simply gazes at the tiger. It would seem he was more of a threat of the two. Perhaps it would be unwise to leave them about if they would be insistent on trying to stop him every step of the way.

His eyes fell on the tiger as it spoke to him. Even she in the short time would be able to tell the difference in his voice. Before when the aura had been light it had be purer. Now as it was filled with Darkness that voice had a hollow sound to it. ”I would suggest you learn your place cat.” he said not impressed with him. He was a bit of a hindrance actually, but he would ignore him for now as his eyes moved to Ailis.

He stopped at her statement as his eyes narrowed. So she could see his other half could she. Well how unfortunate for her. That really meant he couldn’t let her leave here alive. He would leave nothing to chance this time. He was determined to not leave anything to chance this time as he had done last time. And that had ended up costing him. He drew another card from his deck intent on playing it.

Soon Nebulas would step away from Ailis at the same time. ”I’m sorry about this, but if I said it out loud he would hear me. Please don’t resist.” he said to Nebulas. Nebulas might not like it, but Banner needed a body to help anyone in this situation. In a few seconds there would be a fully formed seal on the ground. Baner focused and held both The Supreme King and his monster still where they stood.

Soon after she would hear Banner’s voice coming from Nebulas. ”Please. You must try to break through to Jaden. I know hes in there somewhere.” he said to encourage her before going back to focus his energy on the seal. He would do his best to keep it there, but eventually his energy would give. He could only hope by that time she had reached Jaden.

there was twinge on her consciousness and she realized right away that someone had joined in his body. "banner you can have the body for the moment. I need neby back in here if I'm going to be able to do anything."

[/i] ailis let the words flow into banner's mind even though she did not actually speak. her eyes were set on the man before her and the darkness was almost smothering her now. the seal hummed beneath her feet as she slowly made her way towards him."mistress be careful, you have only done this once and there is much more darkness this time. don't let it swallow you." nebulas whispered in her mind as she stopped right in front of the young man. "I apologize for this but apparently you are holding a young man in there against his will and I can not let that continue to happen."

the words were soft as she reached up and placed a hand on his head. the darkness seemed to rise up and wrap around her wrist almost pulling her into his mind. a soft white glow edged her and her wings flared before ailis stepped out of her body and into the young man's. why she was doing this was beyond her. she always liked to help people, even ones she didn't know. the darkness seemed to soak around her as she entered his body. his mind was a dark place and she could see a small light but there wasn't much more than that. "hello? is there anyone in here?" the female called in the dark place she was in. perhaps she could find this young man and help him come back out.[/blockquote][/size]

Banner was a bit surprised as he heard Ailis’ voice. So it would appear as if they had a link of some kind. Not that it was really of significance. He continued on in his work. If Banner had his own face it would’ve harden a bit as he struggled to keep both of them in place as Ailis approached Jaden. The Supreme King’s eyes narrowed a bit as he struggled to move, but found himself unable to. Instead his eyes fell on the tiger now. As he noticed Banner missing. So this was Banner’s doing. He would make sure to be rid of him as soon as he got out of this.

He wasn’t expecting what she did next. Which was she entered his mind. It seemed another had that troublesome ability to go inside another’s mind. However did that mean her body was left here unattended? It was a matter for another time. For now his energy would focus on trying to escape the seal and his monster would no doubt be struggling against it was well.

When Ailis looked around what she would see wasn’t what she would expect. She would see mirrors everywhere. Each holding a memory in it. The first one she looked in she would see when he had been in an alternate dimension trying to save his friend. In doing so he had been the cause of his other friends death. He had killed all of them as their life energy had been used for something else. A single card that to this day he hadn’t used.

The next mirror she would come to was a picture of the The Supreme King standing in the middle of a village. A village he had raised killing hundreds of innocents. Something Jaden had been to powerless to stop. Too weak to put an end to. Something he regretted whole heartedly. By now she would notice there were thousands of such mirrors which should lead her to an interesting question. Were they all of such painful memories?

If she chose to check the next one to see it would be the newest one. The one from Isafaro. Where he had left the city just in time, after the outbreak, to see all those people die. Even if they hadn’t been their normal selfs. It had been another event that again he had been powerless to stop. He had needed more power to prevent that from happening, but he knew he didn’t have that.

After that she would see a boy in a red jacket his eyes hollow staring at the ground. That was Jaden, but he was lost in his own memories at the time. Memories of people he had hurt. People he had been unable to save.

the mirrors that seemed to form around her were very interesting. letting her fingers brush against them, she pulled back when they fractured slightly. this boy and this place were so unstable. the memories that filled the mirrors were painful ones and it broke her heart to see them. this boy felt responsible for so many things. there were so many things within him that were eating away at him. no wonder this boy was covered in so much darkness. "jaden? are you here?" the words were barely above a whisper as she crept passed the mirrors. a feather drifted in front of her face and she shifted her wings. huh they actually transferred over with her this time. the sharp smell of blood filled her nose and she flinched. it was very lonely in here and she didn't like not having contact with nebulas. she felt very alone. probably like how this boy felt. as she ventured further, ailis found a boy in a red jacket. his expression was one that broke her heart even more.

his expression was one of defeat and loss. his feelings were almost overwhelming as she approached. "jaden can you hear me? jaden you don't know me but my name is ailis. a few of your friends asked me to come in here. my god I am so sorry. you poor thing." ailis whispered the words as she stepped closer to him. she didn't know what to expect from the boy but she was worried there might be something more than just the young boy here. outside nebulas kept his hand on the king's forhead. he needed to keep contact with him otherwise it would be very difficult to get ailis back into her body. with a quick glance he could see banner struggling to keep the seals in tack. letting a small amount of his power soak into the seal, nebulas strengthened it slightly to stop the king and his monster from moving completely. "banner I'm helping you but I can only do so much. if this takes to long then she might not be able to return." nebulas let the words flow into banner's mind.

Jaden continued to stare at the ground as she called out his name. It was just another memory right? At least that’s what he thought. Another memory of someone he had caused harm to. Another he had been unable to save. His head turned very slightly when she said it was someone she didn’t know. Was it someone he had hurt, but never knew?

There were plenty of those. His eyes turned to gaze at her seeming to stare at her, but in reality he was staring through her. A few of his friends? So it was someone he had hurt that his friends had asked to help then? He didn’t respond, but his gaze shifted slightly as if he was making an effort to remember her. To put a face to something.

Considering what she had seen so far it would be a safe assumption to make that he was trying to match how he had hurt her. Banner glanced over at Nebulas as some of his power leaked through. ”Right.” he said glancing at The Supreme King and his monster. It seemed as though neither of them had anything to say. ”Let us hope she can reach him before then.” he said. This was the first time he had used this magic in a long time making it difficult for him, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t going to put everything he had into it.

the boy looked so sad and she could see it in his eyes. he thought she was someone he couldn't save. it was clear across his face. the female shifted her wings behind her as she approached him. she was afraid to touch him but she was going to have too it was the only way she could pull him back. she needed to speak to him and convince him this wasn't his fault. "jaden,I am real. I am standing in front of you right now. i'm here to help you. please answer me." she begged softly as the female pushed a piece of hair behind her ear. it had been so long since she had been inside someone's mind. it was almost suffocating as she edged closer to him. her connection to nebulas had been severed the farther in she got and she was slightly worried. if this didn't go well she could die. no pressure or anything.

fingers shaking, ailis extended her hand and lightly placed it on his shoulder. he felt cold and almost not there. she let her fingers grip his shoulder and let her aura wash over him as a way to get his attention. a few feathers floated passed her face and she blew them away. great she was molting from the stress. "jaden listen to me. there are people out there who are worried about you. you need to fight through this and get to them. banner and kuriboh, they are here for you. we just want to help you." she felt like a mother consoling a child with the tone of voice she was using. aura flaring she pushed back the darkness in hopes to keep herself from slipping. this was getting dangerous and she wasn't making much progress. hopefully she could help this boy.

Jaden blinked at her words, but still they meant nothing to him. He was still determined to put a name with her face. As if somehow that would solve all of his problems. Like with that one action it would make everything okay even if he was trapped. Try as hard as he might however he wasn’t able to do it. He couldn’t do it. Why? He at least owed it to them to remember what he had done to them didn’t he?

He didn’t move as she got closer. She’d pass right through him like all the others wouldn’t she, but then she didn’t. He didn’t notice it at first and wasn’t even focusing on her words until he noticed that she hadn’t gone through him. She was still there. There was a bit more life in his eyes now as he started to think about what that could mean.

His mind wasn’t able to process it. But his features shifted slightly to something curious now. He tried to remember what she had said. It was difficult, but he was determined to do it. He was finally able to process it after what seemed like a long time for him. Banner and Winged Kuriboh. Hadn’t he heard Winged Kuriboh a while back? And Banner was here as well. He began to look around for the two as a small lightly would suddenly appear fighting off the Darkness that had been threatening her.

That small action was beginning to take effect, but he had a far way to go before he beat his own Darkness, but it had caused something. A memory. That he had people who cared about him waiting. Friends that might miss him. He hadn’t been able to save everyone, but did that mean he had to hurt more people? “Who. Are you?” he asked. It was quiet, but still it was more than he had said since coming here. Unknowingly Ailis had sparked a fire in Jaden, one that he desperately needed to fight the Darkness.


Outside The Supreme King gritted a bit as it was becoming harder and harder for him to keep Jaden in check, but unfortunately it was getting harder and harder for Banner to keep him in place even with Nebulaus’ help. ”I think our time here may be just about up.” he said to Nebulaus through the link they shared. ”If you have a way to contact her I would advise getting her out soon.” he said. That was the major worry. Of course after getting out they would still need to get away unless she had managed to reach Jaden somehow.
