The Fires That Burn Within [Ailis]

ailis watched him. she saw the spark that seemed to ignite within him. there was a change in his aura. a change in the entire place. it was small but it was noticeable. hopefully that would be enough. there was a shake as she felt the shift and for a brief second she could hear nebulas calling her name. was it time for her to leave? no she couldn't leave yet. she wasn't about to leave him like this. she was running out of time and she knew it. ailis wrapped her arms around him and pulled jaden into a hug. it was what he needed and it was the best she could do. behind her, the female's wings spread lightly. the light wrapped around them and the darkness no longer clung to her. "jaden. my name is ailis. you don't know me but I'm here on behalf of some friends of yours. then sent me to tell you to fight him. jaden nothing you did is your fault. you tried the best you could. those things are in the past and you can only look forward to what the future holds. just try to hold out and don't let the darkness consume you anymore." the female whispered the words to him as she gave him a tight squeeze.

when the female pulled away from him, she stumbled slightly. this was taking too long and she was going to end up fading away at this rate. "jaden don't let it swallow you whole ok? banner and kuriboh still care about you and are waiting for your return. so come back to them." ailis gave him a warm smile as she stepped away from his light and into the darkness. it was time for her to go. "ailis! you need to get out now! we can't hold him much longer!" nebulas' voice rang through her head and the female blinked. pushing her way through the darkness, she stepped out of him body and back to her own. nebulas also jumped back to his own body with banner. but for a second neither of them moved. it was jarring to step back into your own body after being out for so long and she needed to get her head straight. beneath her she could feel the seal fading.

blinking furiously, the female jumped back to stand by kuriboh and nebulas. "I think we are good for now. I started something and I hope that will be enough for him to push through. I did the best I could. now we can only hope, but we need to get out of here the king isn't going to be too happy with me." ailis muttered softly as she leaned against nebulas for support. her wings shifted at her back to try and help balance her but she was weak. "mistress let's get you guys away from here. banner you are welcome to stay within me for now." nebulas nudged ailis onto his back as they all took off in a sprint to get as far away as they can. ailis gripped his fur and tried to stay awake as they fled.

Jaden hadn’t been expecting her to hug him. After all he had only asked for her name, but he didn’t protest it, but it was strange since he still didn’t try to go against it. It was during that moment that he first truly noticed her wings. Was she an angel as well? It wasn’t the best time, but he was starting to become aware of his surroundings. All the mirrors. Were these all people he had hurt? People he was still hurting?

It was at that moment she decided to speak. Ailis. Jaden was usually good with names when he wasn’t giving people nicknames that he thought they should have, but that was for another time. Fight him? Then they hadn’t told her everything. The problem was he was him. It wasn’t just someone using his body. It was a him from the past. A him that the Darkness chooses to reside in. Something that it had used time and time again.

He was still listening to her however. At her next words he paused. He hadn’t been able to save them though. No matter how hard he had tried. Look forward to what the future held. He wondered that for a bit. It was him that had done all of this, but not the him that most knew him as. He needed to put an end to it. He needed to stop himself. He gave her a small nod. ”I’ll try.” he said. When she stumbled Jaden reached out and helped steady her.

It was odd her being here. It was odd being in this entire situation to be honest, but he knew that he couldn’t give up for the sake of his friends. Even for the sake of those he didn’t know. Whatever his other half had planned for this world it wasn’t going to end well. With her finals words after that she was gone. As if she had never been there. Jaden got the odd feeling of the Darkness trying to close in again, but he couldn’t give in, not now. There was too much at stake. The only question was how to fight it.

Outside the Supreme King was trying to get the Darkness to close in around Jaden, but it wasn’t working. No matter how strong the Darkness he put in that light refused to go out. His hand finally moved as the seal broke over his heart as his hand pulsed with Darkness. He was ready to aim that Darkness at the people who had originally dared to oppose them, but they were long gone. He allowed himself to fall to one knee. What had caused this? His supposed friends? If that was the case he would have to make sure he had nothing to fight for. He would need to speed his own plans. And the next time he saw her she would regret it.

Banner and Winged Kuriboh traveled quite a distance before they finally stopped. Banner left Nebulas and gave Ailis a sympatic look. ”I know you did not have to help us. I am grateful for that as well. I hope what you did in time will get Jaden back. For now however I do not believe it is safe for you to travel with us. I’m sorry, but we must part.” he said as his cat once again ate his orb as it trotted off Winged Kuriboh close behind.
