Argus swallowed nervously, the lump remaining briefly in his throat, and nodded at Sazan. Amoura may be able to handle an angered woman but that was because she was also female. Wait, why was he comparing himself to his doppleganger? Oh the joys of being below yourself in terms of popularity–literally.
"U-Uh if I may?" Argus was running prayers to any existing god that Sazan won't strike him down where he stood, "Instead of just remaining out here and arguing why don't we go sit down somewhere, have something to eat and calmly talk about what we should do?" Ever the peacemaker.
Michael raised his eyebrow at Argus' suggestion, sighed, and the black fire extinguished with a sharp hiss, "To talk or not to talk is up to my wife."

Sazan glared at Chloe, then Argus, then back to Chloe. She wanted to blast something. Or if nothing else, hit something. That something would come in the form of the nearby wall as she left a hole in it from connecting with her right hand.
“Give me my aunt's body and I'll go.”
It was a simple request and one The Hybrid wouldn't take kindly to if denied.
“That's all I ask.”

Chloe had to refrain a groan. Handing over Ranko's body was the last thing she wanted to do. What if Sazan found a way for her soul to return to her body? What if her soul found a way back to her body all on its own? Either way it presented a huge risk to her rule as Empress. Something she simply could not allow. Though Chloe expected she would regret these words, and that it would only make this situation far worse than it what it was, it didn't stop them from coming out of her mouth. "I'm afraid I cannot do that. I am sorry."

"I'm afraid I cannot do that. I am sorry."
Argus froze in place and could feel the hairs on his back stand on end. Did Chloe just tell Sazan, the daughter of a powerful paradox that could wipe planets out of a solar system if she wanted, NO?!
"How dare you!" Michael exclaimed and the fires returned brighter and hotter than ever, "You killed a member of our family and we want to have a proper burial for her!" Like Sazan, Michael's eyes turned black, and he began to tap into the arcane magics to prepare for force if need be, "You will give us her body!"
"I'll just..." Argus pointed to the side, "Watch. Ya know. Since I don't want to be on either side." All three of whom were present were considered family to the hybrid and if he had to choose a side, it would break it apart. As he had stated, he leaned against the wall and just watched.

“You would deny me even that? You would deny me from burying my own flesh and blood!?”
Sazan moved in what looked to be an attack until Kaso and Alexander stepped up, Kaso standing to Chloe's right and Alexander to her left, both in front of their Empress now with swords at the ready.
“Get out of the way. This doesn't concern you!”
“When the Empress' life is at stake, it does concern us.”
“Stand down!”
“Or you'll what? Stab me?”
“Our weapons may not do much, but if there's a Ranko in your world then I will assume I am there as well. And I will also assume you know all too well the dangers I present to you and your comrades. We'll say it again; stand down!”
Sazan growled and took a couple of steps back to stand next to her husband, still staring daggers into the new Empress of Jherrazad.
“Give me one good reason why you can't release my aunt's body to me. One good reason!”

"Gentlemen, please..."
In an instant, Sparda had appeared beside Sazan, his blade at the ready. A sardonic smirk of amusement crossed his face as he glanced from Kaso to Alexander and back. "You say that as if you believe you stand a chance against the three of us. I alone could stiff-arm you both at the very least."
Despite his sarcasm, there was a darkness in the demon's eyes that made it very clear he could - and gladly would - back up his every word. If it came down to it, a battle would surely be theirs. That aside, the Dark Knight then turned his withering stare upon Chloe.
"Consider your answer carefully, Chloe. If it's the wrong one, trust me, you'll go down in history as Jherrazad's shortest-reigning ruler."

Chloe raised her eyebrow when Kaso was able to make Sazan stand down. It made her wonder just what in the hell he was referring to that would make the angry witch back off. For now though, Chloe wasn't going to question it and just be grateful that at least one angry person was out of her face for now. "Ranko's human soul has moved on but her demon soul is another story. There's the chance her demon soul could return to wreak havoc so we're keeping her body as a security measure."

"Security measure? So you can keep the fires of lust for your new found power roaring?" Michael snapped his gaze to Sparda and narrowed his eyes to slits. If there was one thing he didn't miss while he was gone, it was the Knight's tendency to brag about his capabilities. The Crow snorted and set his sights on the Kasul wielding vampire, "What you are doing will lead you down a path you will come to regret," he snarled.
"Are we...sure we don't want to have something to eat and drink to soothe our--"
"No!"
"Just a suggestion. Gods." Argus rolled his eyes and resumed staying out of the mess.

There was a lot of things she wanted to say, and even more things she wanted to do but to the surprise of everyone standing there, Sazan took a deep breath and calmed herself down.
“Michael, we're done here.”
Sazan turned around and began walking, fully expecting Michael to be right behind her. She didn't care what anyone else in the castle did because whether they'd like it or not, one way or another, The Hybrid would have her aunt's body!

Sazan left and Chloe looked relieved. Whether she was willing to admit to it or not, a battle with Sazan would have done drastic damage to the Empire she's just inherited from Ranko during their last confrontation, if you could even call it a confrontation. That only left Argus and Sparda, between the two it was only Sparda who strongly opposed what she has done. Chloe turned to Argus first however. "Argus, could you meet me at my chambers later to talk in private?" Then she turned to Sparda. "Do you have anything else to say?"

"Yeah but while the thought is on my mind..." Argus paused and watched Michael and Sazan leave the castle, relieved that there won't be another big scene from the duo but he highly doubted that would be the last of their attempts. If Sazan was anything like her mother it was guaranteed. If Chloe was capable of making her walk off he saw no reason to bring that topic up. "Have any of you seen Amoura? Ever since that incident with Miracle I couldn't find her anywhere."

Was that it? Sparda hadn't at all been expecting Sazan to simply back down like that. Maybe she had chosen to merely bide her time and wait for a better opportunity to get Ranko's body back and exact her revenge.
For now, though, there was a more important point raised; Amoura's whereabouts.
"I have no idea, come to think of it," the Dark Knight mused, glancing at Argus. "Maricul's throne room was the last place I saw her, before she headed off to track down the Shroud and we deployed against Veran... She couldn't still be searching for it, could she...?"

Chloe looked at Argus, it took a moment for the realization to settle in but once it did a worried expression soon overtook the vampiress' pale youthful features as she thought back to that horrible day in Utopia and the noticeable absence of Amoura after everyone met up at Maricul's palace. "You don't think.... she's...." Chloe bit her tongue, unable to bring herself to say the words. Just the thought was bad enough. "No. I'm sure she's fine." But she didn't sound sure.

"Yeah...I'm sure she is. Maybe she's off doing her own thing. I'm sure she's done that without telling anyone where she's gone," Argus gave Sparda an "I know this situation all too well" look and mustered a small grin, "Oh well. The incident with Veran may have upset her so I'm sure she's alright. In the meantime..." He clapped his hands together and rubbed them, "Mind showing us around? I've never been in a fortress or castle this grand before. Sure, hell had it's own little spiffy areas but this takes the cake."

"I'd be delighted to." Chloe smiled and dismissed Kaso and Alexander as there were currently no reason for them to be around. The vampiress was more than willing to give Argus the grand tour, and Sparda if he chose to stick around. "May as well start with the throne room." said Chloe as she opened up the double oak doors unveiling the long maroon carpet path to the single throne that was once sat upon by Empress Ranko. Like with everything else inside the castle, the floors, walls and ceiling were all black making the maroon carpets and curtains match well. Though she may change them. For a vampire staring at red all day could drive you insane.
"And of course this is where I sit." Chloe walked over to the throne and sat down. A look of great satisfaction washed over the vampiress' face knowing that this was all hers now. All of it. Not half, not a quarter of, but all of it. It was easy to allow yourself to be carried away by it all. But she quickly remembered she had company and snapped herself out of it long enough to sit up from the throne. "Over to the right of this chair is my chambers." Chloe approached Argus and whispered, "I have a Queen Size bed." before giggling. That's right. She giggled.
