Update: Fixed the deal with the systems32 (as far as I know) and Windows Updates started up again but after finishing the batch and restarting I've received...
the dreaded BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH! -dramatic music plays-

All it took to fix was a system restore thankfully, though I had to reformat again anyway. Turned out of all the discs I used last time trying to figure out how to do this right I only needed four of them so pretty sure I reformatted the right way this time. Not out of the woods yet but I'm back at the point of updating where things started to go downhill with no problems so we'll see how it goes.

Goodness, son. What the devil did you do to your computer? I installed some things I didn't need and were uncompilable with my system in the last reformat so I had to reformat again to get things running right. Update: I've successfully downloaded and updated AVG, Spybot and malwarebytes' onto my computer. I have AVG and Spybot set to auto scans and updates. At the present time I'm unable to set malwarebytes' to auto-launch once a month (as it can't auto-scan/update in the free version) because I keep getting an error 0x80070005: access is denied message. I may have to wait for my friend and resident computer expert to come online but that setup isn't needed right now so I'm installing Zone Alarm Firewall. |

I meant what did you do to warrant a reformatting. He's been having problems with updating, downloading programs he should be able to download and pulling up certain sites. |

There are still some sites I can't load up, ProBoards being the main one. I was able to pull up Support through pasting the IP into the URL field of my browser (I don't know what it's called) but I can't test with this forum on mine yet because now they're having problems.

Update: Turns out it was a DNS issue preventing me from loading up certain sites. I have that resolved, now I just have the win32fruadload to deal with.
