You know what I find hilarious about us (people) in general? We get so caught up in the hype of things we don't realize how good or how bad something really is. I think Final Fantasy VII is the finest example of that. Final Fantasy VII is said to be the greatest RPG of all time, perhaps even the greatest game of any genre of all time. And you know I sat down and played it, and I thought it was a pretty good game but the greatest of all time it is not. I would actually say it's one of the most overrated video games of all time and by saying that I'm sure someone will come along in the future and claim it's one of the most overrated, overrated video games of all time. See what I'm getting at?
I come back from a 2 day ban, now I wasn't online at all because I figure I was spending too much time on the Internet anyway, so I come back from a 2 day hiatus and I'm hearing about this "post" that people are getting all worked up over. So naturally I ask, "Well who posted it?" The answer? "Veran." Oh I'm smiling now because I know whatever it is, it's going to be good. If there's one thing I could always count on from that guy is that whatever it is, it's going to be good. But when I finally get on to check the forum I see the post is gone. "TOS Violation!" ... So now I'm curious because we have Utena running around calling it the most sickening thing ever made and I LOVE sick things. I PM Veran, "What did you do!?" he's kind enough to show me the post and I read it and....
What was the big deal? I actually thought it was good and I stand here as one of the Arashi biggest critics. Funny thing is while I was asking on MSN I don't believe I ever got an answer. If it's only because it's revolting then how come none of you took offense to the twins that were decapitated by Amoura in Doomsday? I mean they looked like kids. They probably looked around the same age as Miracle. I didn't see any fuss over that. I get it. You have a right to be offended at things but you see normally when people are offended at something they explain why they're offended. You can't just be offended for the sake of being offended it doesn't work like that!
So I would like to take this time to challenge those who didn't like the post, TOS violation aside for the moment, why? Why didn't you like it? If you don't know how to explain your reasoning here, let me show you:
Person: Why don't you like the Arashi plot?
Me: I don't like it because the prophecy was taken off a video game. That's like copying and pasting lyrics and changing words around. I also don't like it because the Arashi are unbeatable opponents. I like a challenge and all, but if the challenge is so impossible the person who created it has to give you the guidebook on how to beat it then something is gravely wrong with the challenge.
Now this is usually when someone would quote me and probably say something along the lines of, "Well it's not meant to be a challenge you can overcome in that light. It's like a natural disaster. You can't fight a natural disaster. You can only savage what you can but you have to work together with your neighbors to do it."
In civilized society (stop laughing I'm serious) we would call that a conversation!
Now you try.
