Name: Vergil
Aliases: Dark Slayer, Nero Angelo, "Gilver"
Age: Unspecified, but presumed between late 20s and early 30s
Gender: Male
Species: Hybrid - demon / human
Alignment: Neutral
Canon or Original: Canon
Date of Birth: Unknown
Place of Birth: Unknown
Physical Appearance: Credit to extremeboyz of deviantArt for this magnificence.
Personality: Vergil's personality is almost the complete opposite of Dante's. Even though they are twin brothers, Vergil is calm, cool, and collected. In Devil May Cry 3, Vergil is shown to have a fondness for reading books. He is quiet and prefers swords over guns, since he considers firearms unworthy of a "true warrior". His quietness is not due to a lack of self confidence however; it is because he never shows fear over anything.
It would appear that Dante and Vergil were close at one time during their childhood. After the boss fight with Arkham in Devil May Cry 3, Dante and Vergil finish him by each of them firing one of Dante's guns, simultaneously saying a catchphrase, "Jackpot", after Dante asks his brother, "Remember what we used to say?".
Unlike Dante, Vergil is willing to embrace his demonic heritage, and seeks to emulate his father's power and cold persona. While Dante seeks to protect humanity from the demons, Vergil wants more demonic power, regardless of the consequences to those around him.
Despite his normal personality of cold dismissal, he does cherish two things: the Devil-blade Yamato, a dark katana left to him as a keepsake by his father and his own half of the Perfect Amulet, a memento from his mother. In Devil May Cry 3, Vergil seems to reveal some of his feelings by claiming to Dante: "Might controls everything, and without strength you cannot protect anything, let alone yourself.". This may be a reference to their mother's death. It may also imply that Vergil seeks power as compensation for failing to protect her. His failure may also have made him forsake close human relationships.

Special Abilities:
- Superhuman Physicality: Much like his father, Vergil's body is honed to superhuman peaks of physical capability. While much stronger and more resilient than even the majority of greater demons, his emphasis is placed on his blinding speed, equally keen reflexes and razor-sharp senses.
- Dimensional Cloak: Vergil is capable of grasping the very fabric of space itself, tearing open a portal into a pocket dimension he uses both to traverse long distances quickly and hide from those by whom he doesn't wish to be found. While within its boundaries, he is impossible to sense from outside by any means, be it telepathy, smell or aura sense; to those outside this dimension, it is as if he doesn't exist at all.
- Rift Blades: This deadly technique is the result of the growth of Vergil's demonic power and swordplay skills. The pocket dimension within which he conceals himself is put to use to devastate his foes; slashes of his blade leave dimensional tears in their wake which open over the matter of his target and close a few moments later, taking the enclosed matter with them as if it is not cut or damaged, but merely ceases to exist in this world.
- Devil Trigger: Though he thoroughly resents Mundus for having enslaved him, Vergil came to appreciate the dark power bestowed on him. Almost as a show of grudging respect to the Prince of Darkness, he maintained as his Devil Trigger the imposing demon form he had taken while subjected to Mundus' will. Commanding gargantuan physical power with each swing of his massive sword, he abandons notions of subtlety for an overwhelmingly powerful offence and seemingly impenetrable armour.
Weapons:
- Yamato: The famed and feared weapon of the Dark Slayer has found its way home. In his hands, it strikes with such inconceivable speed and power as to be able to cleave through almost anything with just a single clean cut left in its wake. His foes often don't even realise they've been struck until their bodies fall apart.
- Summoned Swords: A staple technique among his arsenal is Vergil's ability to condense his demonic energy into floating hardlight swords which he hurls at enemies as ranged projectiles. So long has he kept this weapon in use, he has honed it to levels of lethality far beyond anything his brother had witnessed in battle against him; the swords can seek out and follow targets, move at supersonic speeds and be triggered to explode with enough force to topple whole buildings.
