Name: Garrus Vakarian
Aliases: Archangel
Age: Unknown
Gender: Male
Species: Turian
Alignment: Good
Canon or Original: Canon: Mass Effect
Date of Birth: Unknown
Place of Birth: Palaven
Physical Appearance:
Personality: Not one that enjoys being tied down by rules and regulations Garrus Vakarian has a strong sense of right and wrong and always stands up for what's right, willing to go to almost any lengths to get rid of a threat and hates it when the scumbag gets away. While ruthless to his enemies Garrus is often courteous to those who are close to him and remains calm and reassuring to victims of wrong doings.
Special Abilities: Garrus possess military training and is very handy with almost any weapon he can get his hands on, assault and sniper rifles especially. In addition Garrus is also considered something of a tactical genius which he proved on Omega by holding off three different formidable factions on his own. He is also knowledgeable in first aid and electronics (repairs and hacking).
Weapons:
M-15 Vindicator: A battle rifle favored by assassins and elite mercenaries that fires in highly accurate five round bursts and can be pulsed for rapid fire. Deadly at range, very accurate, and effective against armor, shields and biotic barriers.
M-29 Incisor: The Incisor is one of a new wave of military and police sniper rifles designed to overload active defenses such as shields. Firing three shots with each pull of the trigger, the Incisor's burst is so fast that all three rounds will be in the target by the time the barrel has moved a millimeter, increasing its stopping power without sacrificing accuracy. As an added benefit, the noise of the burst is comparable to a single rifle shot in duration, making it no easier to locate the sniper by sound.
History: Garrus Vakarian was raised on Palaven and later received military training like all turians at the age of 15 but chose to follow in his father's footsteps and become a C-Sec officer on the Citadel but later grew tired of all the red tape and opt to join Commander Shepard on the hunt for Saren, a fellow turian. Garrus hated him for being a disgrace to his people and led an investigation on his treason but turned up no evidence until the arrival of Commander Shepard and the Normandy Crew.
During his time on the Normandy he would learn that just because you can do anything doesn't mean you should, while he wanted to kill Saren under the impression that he was too dangerous to be kept alive he learned that it was better to take him in alive and find out more about his motivations and only choosing to kill if there is no other option. He disagreed at first but later understood where the commander was coming from. They would eventually catch up with the rogue Spectre but there was no reasoning with him, or taking him in alive. He was killed in action, his army of Geth which he was working with forced back and the Reaper, an advanced machine race that wiped out all of galactic civilization centuries ago was defeated but the Reaper threat was not ended.
The Council did not want to acknowledge the Reaper threat as a reality and sent the Normandy on a mission to silent these rumors of their existence once and for all. That mission would see the destruction of the Normandy and the death of Commander Shepard by an unknown alien ship. Garrus and many of the other crew members survived and all went their separate ways without Shepard to hold them together and the Council buried anything that was found on the Reapers. Garrus would return to C-Sec for a time before becoming a mercenary and making a name for himself on Omega. They called him "archangel" for all his good deeds.
It would be a good two years before Garrus uncovered that Commander Shepard was alive and needed him for a new mission concerning the Reapers, by then the fight with the major factions on Omega has come to a head and it was up to them to take the last stand. The battle was beginning to shift in their favor until suddenly Garrus was surrounded by a blinding white light. He could hear the cries of Shepard fading all so gradually before he awakened in a daze, hurl to a new conflict on a new world that was not his own and so, the next chapter of his story begins.
