History:
There was, in the Kingdom of Hyrule, a young boy named Link, born to the Hylian race, grew up by himself. With no parents to speak of, he mostly raised himself when the time came to be raised, though one could say he was helped along by the other inhabitants of his little village, called Ordon. In this little village, he became known by the town as a sort of errand boy, trusted by many to carry out any task requested. And, in an effort to feel at-least semi included in the village’s daily life, he would gladly take the tasks given to him, not caring what they were. Often, they were mundane errands; fetching something from one person to another, making deliveries from shop owner to another to stock the other's shelves.
At the age of seventeen, he'd become a rancher, and it was this age that his life would change, and that his life would change those of all beings in the land. Ordon's local blacksmith and only warrior one day requests Link to deliver the Ordon Sword and Ordon Shield to the royal family in his place, who'd made a special request of it. Preparing to leave, the town is attacked by a brutal force, kidnapping the children of the town, including two of Link's friends. Link eventually comes to a place called the Faron Province, which has become shrouded in a mysterious energy simply called Twilight; the abilities of this energy are able to turn Link into a wolf, and as it turns out, the realm itself is inhabited by strange creatures called Shadow Beasts.
But, help for the young hero isn't far off, as he's freed by a girl named Midna, the princess of the twilight realm. With Midna's help, he breaks the hold of Twilight over Faron Province and delivers light back unto it, returning to his original form. Through this event, Link befriends Midna, who agrees to travel with him for the rest of his journey to help. However, the Twilight King, Midna's father, is not the culprit behind all this, but a mere puppet in a rather age old game. Though he does have power over Twilight and wishes to spread his realm over all of the land, his puppeteer is Ganondorf, who, using Zant as a front, covered the land of Hyrule in Twilight and forcing it's Queen, Zelda, into a tight spot; she could either give up rule to save her people from death, or watch them suffer making a stand. In an effort to save her people, Zelda relinquished her royal power to Ganondorf, leaving the last thread of hope open to be grasped by Link only, who possessed the last piece of the mythical Triforce; where Ganon had that of Power, and Zelda of Wisdom, Link’s was the Triforce of Courage.
Through his many trials and tribulations, Link grew heavy-hearted, but a sense of will and perseverance is what saved him, pushing him forward until Ganon was defeated, Zelda's reign restored, and Midna back in the Twilight Realm, severing the connection between the two worlds by breaking an object called the Twili Mirror, as Link watched beside Zelda. After being thanked for all he'd done, and refusing the title of knighthood (needing no title to justify service to his Queen), Link mounted his horse and took back off for Ordon. However, the boy in Hero's clothing, though hero he was, felt almost unaccomplished, unsure, and, in a strange sense, a feeling of loss; it was then that a rip opened itself up into the universe, and the Hero of Time and Twilight ended up somewhere totally and completely new.
