Dave has spent lots of time wandering around the meteor. It had been a pretty uninteresting three years for him, and he often went off on his own (more often accompanied by Terezi) to explore the unknown reaches of their temporary home and fast-moving transportation device. They often joked about how large it was. Hell, it fit all of Can Town (the Mayor was a pretty chill bro) in one room. Not that Can Town itself was very large. It was made out of cans, after all. But when Dave inexplicably wandered into a city, shit got real for real. He looked around, apparently able to see perfectly fine in the dark city even with his sunglasses on. What, did you expect him to take off his shades? Who did you think he was, someone who wasn't really awesome and generally the coolest person ever? You should be ashamed of yourself. Go sit in the corner for ten minutes, you deserve it. Anyway, he was pretty confused, and you would be too, if you were in his red shoes. One moment he was on a giant rock in space and the next moment he's in the middle of who the fuck knows where. To be honest, he wasn't very surprised - not much surprised him, anyway - but he was slightly confused. Maybe it had been three years, and now he was to meet up with John and Jade? What a totally not cool place to have a meet up. This place sucks.
What was a little worrying, though, was that no one else seemed to be here. Not anyone from the meteor, at least. There was no Karkat, or Terezi, or Rose, or Kanaya. Not even the Mayor. Oh, Mayor. Dave hoped he would be okay. Out of everyone, the Mayor was obviously the most important. He did have an entire city of Cans to look after, you know.
Utilizing the mystical powers of his badge that let him speak, he spoke.
He didn't see many people, but the occasional passerby looked nothing like the people listed above. This was beginning to get very strange, very quickly. He pulled down his hood and cracked his neck - that thing is hot, man. It also makes him look pretty hot, if he does say so himself. Still, there was the whole problem with this city that boggled him.
Dave kept saying 'we' but he was starting to get the feeling that he was alone. Still, he was unsurprised. Leave it to the coolkid to not be surprised, right? It'll all work out in the end. Hopefully.
