History: In the fairytales the young girl meets the handsome prince, falls in love and then they ride off to live happily ever after.
This is no fairytale.
Princess Ariel had everything a young girl could want, a loving family, friends, a beautiful voice like no other and her own little spot in the sea filled with treasure. Yet she found herself constantly longing for more in her life but what more could you possibly want?
One day while visiting the surface Ariel would quietly observe the birthday of a human male named Eric. She had always held a fascination for the human race despite what her father said about them being dangerous, but there was something about this one who was different from the rest. Though she couldn't for the life of her put her finger on it.
The birthday party would come to an abrupt end when a terrible storm hit the ship and destroyed it, Ariel quickly swam to the prince and saved his life, bringing him up to shore and singing to him before having to lead when he began to regain consciousness. It was in that moment she decided that what she wanted more than anything was to become human so she could be with him.
And that's when the cunning Sea Witch made her move.
After an argument with her father Ariel was taken to see the Sea Witch named Ursula who promised to turn her human in exchanged for her voice and if she couldn't receive true love's kiss within three days she would belong to the Sea Witch forever.
Foolishly in love with a man she had never met, Ariel agreed to the terms and became a human but was stripped of her voice leaving her unable to speak to the prince but that didn't stop her from communicating with him. For a while everything was going great and Ariel couldn't have been happier but by the time the three days would come to an end the prince's heart would fall for another leaving Ariel's in pieces.
Broken, Ariel spent her last remaining hours as a human on the same shore she brought the prince to when his ship was destroyed and thought about all she has given up and all of the pain she has suffered, taken by despair and cursing herself for not listening to her father. It was there she waited and hoped for a miracle, a happy ending to magically overthrow this terrible tragedy. But it never came. The sun rose on the last day and Ariel fell back into the sea and into the arms of the Sea Witch, her soul now forever belonging to her. For the next two centuries Ariel would do her biding, luring unsuspecting men with her intoxicating voice and hypnotising them with her eyes before piercing their heart with a dagger and burying them in the sea where the witch would claim them as she did her.
