Sharingan: Madara Uchiha possesses the Sharingan because he is in the Uchiha blood line. The basic Sharingan allows him to see the flow of colored chakra to distinguish one person from another, has the ability to see through illusions, and allows the person to copy someones moves including ones that require chakra as long as it is within their capability.
Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan: Madara also possess the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, which is the most advanced version of the Sharingan. The Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan gives the user even greater abilities than that of the basic Sharingan. This includes Amaterasu which is a fire summoned through the eyes. It is near impossible to extinguish the fire without the person who summoned its will to extinguish it. The other of the jutsus is Tsukuyomi, a powerful genjutsu. With the ability of Tsukuyomi, the user puts its victim under a trance where even time is affected. Together, the two jutsus form a even more powerful jutsu, Susanoo. Susanoo is a embodiment of the user, though is not shaped like the user. It is a giant warrior with its own weapon. This susanoo wields a katana that is extremely powerful, able to destroy a mountain with one blow.
Rinnegan: Madara possesses the Rinnegan, but cannot activated it with the Shanigan activated. The one ability that is Shanigan is that of the susanoo which just makes it even more overpowered. With the Rinnegan, Madara has the ability to use all chakra types, but have yet to do so. He can absorb energy attacks with the Rinnegan.
Nature Release: As an Uchiha, Madara has fire release abilities. He can use great fireball jutsu, great fire destruction, great fire annihilation, and dragon flame release song. He was also given the cells of Hashirama Senju, he greatest enemy, and was given the wood release jutsus. This allows him to use nativity of a world of trees, advent of a world of flowering trees, and the ability to create wood clones of himself out of plants surrounding him.
Physical Prowess: Madara is a skilled fighter with his fists and swords. He was able to block a kage's strongest attack without any protection.

History: Madara was the leader of the Uchiha clan along with his brother Izuna. They were the first to waken the Mangekyō Sharingan within the Uchiha clan. They began to conquer clans surrounding the Uchiha clan, eventually becoming one of the strongest clans within the world. However, Madara was using the Mangekyō Sharingan to much, and began to suffer blindness. He took his brother's eyes and transplanted into himself giving him the Eternal Mandgekyō Sharingan. However, despite the success of the Uchiha clan in their battles, they found another clan equally as strong as their own, the Senju clan with their leader Hashirama Senju. Madara found a eternal rival in Hashirma, battling him countless times. However, Hashirama wanted peace for their clans, and prompted a peace treaty with the Uchiha clan to form the village hidden in the leaves. However, Madara didn't want peace, but the clan did, so Madara gave in to the clan's wants and agreed with the treaty. When they elected the village's first leader, Hashirama was elected, which caused Madara to be furious at the Senju, claiming that they are going after the Uchiha. Trying to rekindle the flame of hatred between the two clans, Madara tried to get the Uchiha's to form a rebellion, but they would not listen, so Madara left. He went out in search of the nine-tailed fox. Eventually, he did find it, and when he did, he took control of it with his Sharnigan. He attacked the village hidden in the leaf with the nine-tailed fox, but he was not successful. Hashirama got Madara to go to the location that would eventually be called the valley of the end. Their they fought to the death, with Hashirama coming out as the victor. However, Madara did survive the battle and gathered the DNA of Hashirama and was able to gain the Rinnegan and wood release. However, despite this new abilities, Madara passed away, though there is no record of how.
The next appearance of Madara Uchiha was during the Forth Ninja War when he was resurrected by Kabuto. Kabuto resurrected him by using Impure World Resurrection. Due to the affects of the resurrection, Madara will regenerate endlessly, though it takes a long time, until a suicide attack is used, or the soul is sealed. Kabuto gave Madara his free will, and more of the cells of Hashirama making Madara even more powerful. He began to fight the ninja, winning every battle, however, he became too strong, and Kabuto tried to release him, but it failed. Madara severed his bond with Kabuto, making him immortal.
