Special Abilities: Loki's Veil
Diana has no instantly ready weapons for use, and is inept at most magic. Instead, she uses a form of emitter to propagate mental thought into auras. Each aura has different effects, and their limits make them about as powerful as any other spell. However, due to the nature of Loki's Veil, her powers are neither considered to be magical or technological. Instead, they are classified to be psychic by nature, and cannot be disabled by anti-magic or anti-technology abilities. Which is good, considering how one of her own fields is an magic stopper.
Loki's Veil consists of 2 main types of fields. Passive, and Active. There is only one passive field, known as Passive Veil. Passive Veil can only transition into Active fields, and Active fields can only transition back to Passive Veil. Each transition can only be done once per post, with one exception. In the case scenario where the field radius decreases to the minimum amount, the Active field is disabled and is immediately switched to Passive Veil, regardless of previous transitions. It is impossible for Diana to switch from one Active Field to another at any time.
This power is maintained by Diana's mental power, and certain thoughts or sides of her personality allow for use. Those who can manipulate other's feelings may not be able to fully shatter Diana's ability to use certain fields, but it certainly will be harder for her to maintain the powers. Unexpected effects may occur in these or other similar instances.
Weapons: None at the start
Personality:
Diana is very spiritual, believing in the ways of Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity, and various other religions. She believes in the spiritual realms and that humans are meant to tap into this world and use it for the betterment of the world. Diana also believes in evolution and trusts that humanity as a whole, if they strengthen their spiritual sides, will evolve into a race that can truly enhance the world around them. That's her greatest belief, and she thinks that if she can show the world through her own personal example of who she is, then the people who she lives with will grow to be like that, and that she will be able to connect with them for their perfection.
Because of this, she's quick to help others with problems, urging others to meditate and pray to the spiritual world. She scoffs at organized religion and magic, saying that the regulations of church and the focuses of magic dilute one's self from achieving enlightenment. Diana tries to socialize as much as she can, and hopes to fully synchronize her soul with someone else's, as a way to continue her path down the spiritual world. Government gets the worst of her emotions, as she sees them as a greedy monster who only wishes to enslave the natural rights to man for the desires of chaotic destruction. It was also government and politics, she says, that would corrupt religion and cause a situation where rules were obeyed not for spiritual enlightenment, but to climb a heirachy for wealth, which was against most everything she preaches of. Church goers she would refer to as "Civvies", Clergy she would call "Dull-Minds", and Government officials and politicians she grudgingly abhors and spitefully gives them the names "Smilers"... usually accompanied by a curse filled rant that's usually muttered or mentally spoken.
Diana meditates whenever she is alone, and often after meals. Her meditation begins with chanting before going into absolute silence as she clears her mind of all possible thought. Although she has yet to fully experience enlightenment, this procedure enhances her "psionics", which is just a fancy way for saying that it's the reason why she can focus her thoughts into auras. In her mornings, if she has the time, she'll follow up these meditations with spagyrics, using basic materials to create the various tinctures that she uses to further enhance her mental and spiritual capability. Although she would use other things such as talismans to enhance her powers, she doesn't have the tools or time to fully use them. So most the time, the girl simply waves her hand and settles for the basics. It wasn't a problem: She wants to explore and experiment with the new worlds, anyways.
She likes talking, often going into rants and preachings about her beliefs and how some objects work. In speech and with others, she tends to be more selfish and attention desiring, which has been with her ever since her social exclusion during her childhood days. Diana has a tendency to ramble and get angry, getting heated up into debates over her philsophy and goals. Though at some point she'll gain control over her thoughts, she's very violent and loud when debates come into play, which is a sign of her own inability to really talk to anyone. She never prays before meals, eats and drinks whatever she wants, including alcohol, and prefers salty and spicy foods over bitter and dry. Fruits are her favorite foods, especially mangoes. Diana does have an allergy to raw tomatoes, which often causes her to vomit, among other things.
Despite her goals, she's often paranoid and fearful of strangers, and avoids contact with people she doesn't have to meet with. Diana puts her entire being into research, and travels anywhere and does anything she needs in order to obtain proper materials or information for enhancing the Loki's Veil. She is quick to spend her money, and does so often for her "sciences". Despite all her beliefs, she's very materialistic and secluded when in a social situation, the very opposite of her spiritual desires. Perhaps it's better to hold a one-on-one event with her, rather than forcing her in very social situations. Her desires for the Philosopher Stone was originally for her ability to use magic, so she could fit in with the people she lived with. However over time, this view changed into a desire for an extended life and for easy access to all magic so she can enhance her aura; perhaps she could even spread the aura to other people. Because of these desires, and her contradicary nature, she is considerably pure and impure at the same time, and would never be able to obtain what she wanted through her current means. Not without a form of absolute transmutation would she be able to.
History:
Diana was born into the Denarius family on May 25th. Her family owns a company known as the Lady Fortuna, which specialized in metal works and furniture. She lived as a the daughter of a wealthy family, a privileged kid. Her education was mainly in business and science, but she quickly moved into philosophy and literature where she flourished. Friends were few, but she spent a good deal of her free time playing with her father or younger brother, both of which were usually busier than her.
At the age of 13, she was sent to an academy that specialized in magic talent. Although she had a strong understanding of magic, she had very little capability to cast spells. For the first year, she would be a special student and would be considered a lower student, only capable of taking classes in magic theory and potion craft. By second year, she would come across the field of alchemy, and would continue her studies there. In alchemy, her questions would spark inspiration for the project to combine the magic theory with old alchemy to allow for transmutation without the need of catalysts, thus making alchemy as efficient as other standard magicks. Though her name would never come up on official records, she had a reputation as a silent sage, but was often at the knife's point for ridicule.
Diana attended a Christian church since birth, but despite being baptized, she was agnostic. Her studies in magic gave her doubt as to God's supposed position as an almighty person. Rather, she wanted to investigate the position of humans between the physical world and God. This gave her the drive to pursue the philosophies of Taoism and Buddhism. By the time she was 15, Diana was sick of her school and church and left both in exchange for working. Working with a family relative and with funds from her family, she would start the alchemy branch of Lady Fortuna. Although it had little success in her home world, the works of her alchemy would attract business in foreign worlds, which would become the main source of profit for her. Using this money, Diana continued research on alchemy and, more importantly, using it alongside technology to give her the powers of magic.
She aspired to achieve the impossible goal of the Philosopher's Stone, a perfect mass made entirely of spiritual power. To devise a formula, one would have to first determine the cost of a spirit. A human spirit is a human's ability to live. Not just a spark of life, but life in itself. It's safe to say the cost of a human spirit is human life. At the same time, however, a transmutation like that would most likely fail, and the resultant would be an imperfect form. Arguing in terms of Buddhism, all life is connected. In Christian terms, all life is created by God.Because of this, one would have to sacrifice all human life, or sacrifice God, in order to properly create a philosopher's stone. Stubbornly continuing for her goal, she turned to Taoist ideas of manipulating spiritual energies and chi as the reactants for the Philosopher's Stone. When Diana managed to propagate her mental thoughts to solidify her aura into the basics of Loki's Veil, she knew it had begun.
Without a word to anyone, Diana left her family and home area, traveling to the more technologically advanced country of her neighboring area of Kankei to continue her research. By this point she was 18, and would continue her research there. When she arrived, she used what little money she carried with her to establish a position within the company Juperos Research, who worked on escavating ruins. The world was slowly deteriorating due to years of misuse of spiritual powers, the main reason being due to a series of wars over mana-rich areas of the world. However, this lead to a better connection between the physical world and the Void, which was being investigated by the Kankei, who would then slip secrets of potential mana and power to the other nations.
Diana, with her Loki's Veil, was sent as a medic for excavation projects to search through the recent ruins, marked as the infamous Juperos Dungeon. They had only made it through a small part without much success, however Diana managed to salvage an OoPArt from one of the guardians: A steel plate. Upon closer inspection, it was not a plate, but rather an organic metal that expanded upon consuming energy. This lead to several breakthroughs in the technology, using Juperos Steel to create unbreakable siege lines. After her first successful discovery, she left her position as a medic and moved to the labs to research both use of Juperos Steel (Which would eventually materialize into Land Protector), along with her own aspiration to obtain the Philosopher's Stone. When the Lost World was discovered, and a exploration camp was put in the energy-rich land, she moved there and began real work on perfecting her aura. The researcher was estatic and embraced her new life. Although it was much more difficult than one would desire, the more laid back style of leading and the freedom she had was very suitable for her to delve more into her research for the Philosopher's Stone. Within the Lost World, she delved into her original spagyrics (plant alchemy), as a supplement to her meditation, so her aura would be more focused. By producing and ingesting tinctures, Diana managed to focus her mind enough so that Loki's Veil could be split into either one for pure healing, or one for pure meditation.
However, Kankei back in the original world was under revolution, and the entire area was reformed. Although the new government had not done anything as radical as one would expect, they did take direct control of Juperos Research, with the intent of using the company's monopoly on Void exploration to recolonize the country. Although it certainly wasn't a problem, the people at the Lost World revolted heavily, enjoying their style of life away from the more organized ways of the Kankei and of Juperos Research. After a skirmish along the edge of the Lost World, the two made agreements for a hands-off policy for government. While the Kankei kept out of Lost World's business, the colony would send their discoveries and suchnot to the government. Natural thing, I suppose. Here, she would not only assist in venturing and establishing more land in the Lost World, but also study more and more for her aura. Using a Psi-Emittor she managed to get from butting heads with the army, she perfects her auras to the current point, and discovers Heat Death and Golden Transmutation. From then on, she would use the combination of her current auras to be a siege-support unit in fighting, and as a helper as she continued her work in anti-magic.
During one solo exploration, however, she managed to find an obelisk with designs resembling the Tree of Life found in Qabala and Jewish scriptures. Lured in, she mistakenly touched the obelisk, which was only reflecting her inner desires. She was absorbed into the obelisk, and is currently in a limbo state, fighting mentally as she tries to get out. As this happens, her aura has gone awry, causing her mental self to materialize in other worlds. This is how Diana appears in this current world outside of most other worlds.

Passive Veils:
Tree of Life
The basic field generated by Diana. This field is always in play unless one of the other Active Fields are used. As a default field, it symbolizes her default mindset, slightly altered due to the focus she maintains in order to keep her powers ready for any form of alteration. The field is a light blue, but is not uniform in color. Instead, a large and complex design covers the entire area where the Veil is in effect. Anyone within the field radius will find magic spells are slightly easier to cast and are more efficient, and all healing effects used inside the field will be more effective.
While Passive Veil is in play, Diana's mind is at more rest compared to the fields of Active, and it allows her to expand her influence. Rather than having the field's radius decrease, the radius will increase at a steady rate of 10 meters for each post that passes until it hits maximum field. When Diana first enters a thread, the field radius of Passive Veil starts at a minimum of 30 meters, and has a maximum of 75 meters.
Magic power increase is at 3%
Healing increase is at 5%
The field's intention is not to improve healing or make spells stronger, though that is a side-effect to being within the field. The true purpose is to set a default setting where Diana can regenerate the field lost within Active Field.
Negative Field
Though it isn't a Passive Veil like Tree of Life, the Negative Field does not act like an Active Field. Not entirely, anyways. Negative Field can only be activated under one instance. In the case that an Active Field reaches its smallest radius, one can opt to activate Negative Field rather than Passive Veil. During Negative Veil, the field radius expands to the maximum value for the Active Field (75m if not specfied), and carries on the effect for one more post without any difference. However, as soon as this post passes, the field shatters and is replaced with a Negative Field. During Negative Field, the Active Field that was used will stay in effect, and will keep all previous properties, such as following Diana as she moved, etc etc. But now, the effects are changed, and in most cases, completely reversed. Field radius does not drain at all during this period. After 5 posts of Negative Field, unless influenced by outside effects, the field vanishes and turns into Passive Veil, starting at the miminum field radius of 30m. Negative field is the effect of having no emotion, and first happened when Diana's mental thought process and focus was completely shattered. Though she retains basic thought, the field itself suffers greatly. Due to the fact that Land Protector does not ever shrink in size, it is the only ability that cannot be used to activate Negative Gate.
Here are all instances of Negative Field.
Heat Death: Rather than absorbing all magic to turn into fire, all magic has been enhanced and is now cast at double power. This also makes Diana very weak to any magic attack, due to the sudden change in field attribute, Diana's body and spirit has not fully adjusted to the new situation.
Golden Transmutation: Probably the worst of the Negative Fields. All objects that were created or altered using Golden Transmutation shatter, returning to their original form, permanently until Golden Transmutation is used again to restore the objects.
Ephermal Field: All people within the field are locked in movement and cannot exit the radius.
Melee Crash: The field becomes non-existant, instead of the characters. Diana fears this Negative Field like the plague.
Poem for Bragi: Spells become weaker in power.
Apple of Edun: Wounds will refuse to heal, and status effects become more potent, almost to the point of deadly in some cases.
Gravity: Only used during special cases. Gravity is weakened, allowing for effortless fights within the air, as if characters were capable of flight. When Gravity Negative Field ends, all characters in midair are teleported to the ground, and suffer no damage from crashing onto the floor. A special note for Gravity is that its Negative Field can be activated immediately, as soon as it's necessary, there is no prerequisites for activating the field, due to the fact that Gravity's field radius never decreases.
Virūpākṣa
Virūpākṣa, or Koumokuten, the Heavenly King of Nagas, whose name translates to "He who sees all." This field was originally going to be called "Garden of Eden", based off the initial effects. Rather than focusing so hard on a single emotion, Diana began to instead, transmit her emotions into the world around her. This resulted in the earth becoming more saturated, which spurred growth in the ground around her. Even desolate areas would begin to flourish with plant life of Diana's specific desires and choice. Plants wouldn't grow if she refused them to, so it seems as if she has complete control of the plantlife as long as she continues propagating her thoughts. Due to the fact that she did not need as much focus as normal, the properties of the field would be more like a passive field, where the field grows in size until a maximum of 50 meters. After this, however, she seems to be unable to maintain the field, and it begins shrinking until it hits the miminum field radius of 30 meters.
A second effect began to form as Diana began to meditate while activating Virūpākṣa (she claimed the flowers helped her calm down on some worser days). She seemed to be able to sense the presence of others at the very edge of the border. It came to Diana that when her thoughts were used to create the flowers, that the flowers could then send back thoughts to Diana, meaning that she could see and hear through the flowers. While it wasn't omnipresence within the field, it was very strong to a point where she could move her consciousness to different flowers, and see from multiple points of view, a most frightening thing at first, but it turned out to be very useful for recon and... well, just about any time. Although it wasn't nearly as permanent as Tree of Life, it made a good substitute, and as a Passive Veil could be used right after an Active Field was deactivated. However, because of its status as a Passive Veil, it cannot be put into overdrive using Negative Gate.
She also seems to use Virūpākṣa whenever she needs to pick herbs for alchemy. Reasonable, since most worlds don't seem to have watercress or horsetail as a natural plant in the area.
Active Fields
Heat Death
A mistake during production of Golden Transmutation lead to the creation of Heat Death. Using the basic array for creating Quintessence Morphs, an anti-magic field was created. During Heat Death, all spells are deactivated and any cast spells will only release small flames and embers. While the flames do no damage, if someone was to cast a shield or barrier around them, they would find themselves to be enveloped in flames. Heat Death does not affect magic that is part of a person's natural body.
Heat Death drains field radius at a rate of 10 meters per post, until a minimum of a 5 meter radius. If 5 meters is reached, the field automatically ends and switches to Passive Veil.
Golden Transmutation
The goal of Loki's Veil was to forge an eternal Philosopher's Stone. Golden Transmutation is the finished product. During Golden Transmutation, those inside the field will experience a very minor defense boost. Diana however, can use field radius to use transmutations. Transmutations include turning materials to different metals, changing the shape and size of an object, and changing color.
Transmutations are permanent and will not fade after Golden Transmutation is deactivated.
Field Radius goes down at a rate of 5 meters for every transmutation. Minimum field radius is 15 meters, and Passive Veil is activated as soon as minimum field radius is achieved.
Land Protector
By focusing energy into what alchemists would consider energy from Jupiter, I can cause the Juperos Steel to consume the natural aura of the Tree of Life, and expand until it covers an area. Unlike the others, this field is a physical object, which means that I don't need to keep focus after the original summoning to keep it maintained.
Land Protector, the greatest siege field of Diana. As used, the field fades and zooms in until it only covers a single, very basic circle within the whole intricate field that was the Tree of Life. Upon activation, the entire field area around Diana changes to the metal known as Juperos Steel, an indestructible organic, crystal compound. Due to the physical and magical nature of Juperos Steel, all attacks that involve piercing through the ground, coming out from the ground, or targeting the ground are rendered null.
Land Protector can only have a maximum field radius of 35 meters. While Land Protector is active, Diana cannot exit the Juperos Steel, nor can the ground covered by Juperos Steel be moved by any means. However, this also means that Land Protector can be kept active for as long as necessary.
Ephermal Field
A field forged during her days within the Juperos Research group at Kankei, using the idea of what were known as Pylons. Crystals formed a field where warriors and entire colonies could be transported nearly instantaneously, even from light-years away. Upon study of the wavelength of such a psionic ability, Diana found that an energy infusion would allow the mind to attain similar lengths of psionic energy. Although the study of proper infusion has not lead to any success, Diana keeps a certain amount of psionic energy within her talisman, allowing her to make small uses of the energy field. Although teleportation across dimensions and entire worlds is not possible with such small amounts of energy (if it was, she would have gone back home already), she has managed to rearrange entire structures and even animals within the effect of the field. Although the field can be activated at any time, a single teleportation causes so much strain on the mind, that if it's not used at the maximum 75 meters, then Diana's focus would shatter, automatically Negative Gate. If it is activated at max radius, then Passive Veil would automatically be used.
Melee Crash
After her first encounter with teleporting, Diana wondered whether someone could be put in a state where they were transported, but still existed in the original location. Though this was one of the first experiments that would take the life of a researcher, Diana had successfully created Melee Crash. Although it didn't actually destroy melee weapons, it caused all matter within the area to become intangible, but visible through an opaque view. If you've seen Starcraft, think of detected cloaked units, but these units can't be hurt, even if you know where they are. In this instance, all melee combat is rendered unusuable, and instead, magic is the only form of damage that can actually hurt enemies within this location. Even magically enchanted weapons will not harm enemies; While the magic eminated from the blade will cause harm, the weapon and/or fist itself will simply phase through the person. Melee Crash drains the field at an astonishing rate of 20 meters per post.
A note: No, we will not be having instances where a sword is phasing through a person, and then when Melee Crash is no longer in effect, the other person suddenly has a sword in their gut. Or something similar. In those cases, the sword/weapon/bodypart will continue to phase through the person until it is removed. So don't even try for something like having someone's arm come out of another guy's chest... though it would be kinda funny.
Poem for Bragi
As part of her original study, she found that there were ways to enhance the two side-effects of Tree of Life, leading to the duality of Poem of Bragi and Apple of Eden. Poem of Bragi is the side of magic. By propagating emotions into the air rather than the earth, a human's mental and magic side are enhanced. Magic cast time in the field is reduced by one post, and all mind-related status effects are released. Silence, Deafness, Confusion, Charm, and etc. Note: Those who were already deaf or mute will not miraculously have their speech or hearing by the spell. Also to note that most mind-control effects will still be in effect unless otherwise permitted by the people placed the mind-control in the beginning. This is merely for fairness.
Poem of Bragi, due to being a variation of a Passive Veil, drains field radius at a much smaller rate than expected, with the field decreasing at a rate of 5 meters per post. The miminum field radius, however, is rather high at 35 meters. This means that even if the field stays for a long period of time, it is not meant to stay as long as most others. Accumilating enough radius for the initial startup may also take longer than some would prefer.
Apple of Eden
The other half of the original study for the Philosopher's Stone, the physical enhancement caused by Tree of Life is boosted by enhancing the Passive Veil. As how Poem of Bragi improved mental awareness and magic, Apple of Edun enhances physical health and heals wounds. Those who are under effects of fatigue and low morale will be improved drastically (Once again, there may be certain scenarios where this will not be in effect due to fairness of the battle in play), and all people within the field will be under a "Regen" effect, their wounds healing at an accelerated rate, even without a healing spell/item used on them. Status effects like Stun, Poison, Blind, etc, will also be reduced, and may fade faster than expected, or may be cured instantly. (Note: People who have always been blind will not suddenly see, and there will be scenarios where this effect is disregarded for the higher purpose of keeping an RP moving and fair.)
Apple of Eden, similar to Poem of Bragi, drains field radius at the rate of 5 meters per post. However, the miminum field radius is at a ridiculous radius of 50 meters, meaning that even if one is to activate the field at the maximum 75 meters, it would not last as long as some other fields. A temporary field for healing, it's best that all healing spells and procedures be conducted within the field and with haste before Diana is forced to use a different attack.
Gravity
Psionically induced magic that imitates heavy gravity. Unlike the Final Fantasy series where the Gravity spells would damage at a fixed percentage, this spell simply creates a gravity field. All aerial abilities are heavily disabled, preventing flight and even simple jumps. Even projectiles are not free from the anti-gravity, as even bullets will find their range heavily disabled and their arc altered so badly that, unless you factor in the gravity, most projectiles will hit the ground a few meters after being shot... Some magics may even be suspect to the field's powers, and simply trying to shoot from afar will not change anything, as projectiles that enter the field from outside will instantly be put under Gravity's effect.
However, the field is probably the most painful out of all the fields. It can only be activated at a very strict 40 meter radius, not an inch more or less. Although the field refuses to drain and will remain at the same radius through the entire post. However, humans are not usually adapted to extra gravity, and staying within the field for too long will certainly damage the body. In fact, after 3 posts, Diana's body will start feeling pain at all joints, a sign that the field must be deactivated. If Gravity is not switched to a Passive Veil, Diana risks breaking bones, and at some scenarios, having entire limbs be torn out of their sockets. Research has been conducted to see if this painful downside can be removed, but Diana refuses to try any experiments due to the potential damage it could have on her body.
