History: Every culture has their own legends and myths that are able to transcend the trials of time. Some myths are even popular enough to make it into multitudes of writings, but have you ever wondered why? Would you believe me if I were to tell you, it is because those said myths are actually true? Well, I believe I can tell you of one in particular about the man in this story. The myth in question is of Fenrir, a son of Loki, the fabled monster of the river Ván. However more to the point, this story is about someone who shares the blood of Fenrir, Alexander Gray. His family has always been in the shadows of the world, keeping their bloodline a secret, as to not cause imbalance to the order. Over the centuries, the bloodline has waited for the rebirth of Fenrir, expecting there to be another Ragnarok.
As a boy, Alexander knew of his family's blood and their plans, for it was discovered that Alex was the descendant. Alex was always a kind spirit, tending to the younger children and the girls his age, going out of his way to help them at any time. It was one day when Alex was 8, a few of the kids got lost in the woods just outside of the town they lived in. Becoming worried, Alex run into the thick forest looking for his friends. It wasn't long before he found them by their voice. He discovered he was able to hear things he normally couldn't . However, what he heard made his heart stop. He couldn't turn back on his friends, so he charged forward to their aid. Things seemed to become a blur as Alex was running to the children, however he wasn't worried about menial things as that. Focusing on his friends, he hurried to them. Upon arrival, his fears rang true, as he stared down a large brown bear.
"I'm going to keep him distracted. I want all of you to run home, as fast as you can. Don't turn back... No matter what." Alex spoke to his friends without adverting his gaze from the bear. The moment the kids began to move, the bear decided it a good idea to charge them. Alex was honestly scared for not only his life, but his friends as well. The massive creature was barreling to Alex and the kids. Time seemed to freeze for Alex. He was begging for someone to help give him the ability to save his friends. That's all he wanted. He didn't care what happened to him as long as they were safe. At that moment, there was a warm feeling from within Alex. He lurched forward the moment that feeling began to grow, and turn into pain. He could feel his body begin to change, his hair became thick, and more sprouted from his skin. His hands turned into paws, his something began to push out of his tail bone and the back of his neck. His bone structure started changing as well, and it caused Alex much pain, but he couldn't scream out. His nose now a snout, teeth are fangs, Alex stood on all four of his new legs, and time returned to normal for him. Alex wasn't sure what had happened, but what he did know is that he was stronger. His prayer was answered, and now has the strength to save his friends. His stood as tall as the full grown bear and began to charge it.
Alex's speed and strength seemed to him as that of a super hero, considering he is a child that's how he thought. He didn't kill the bear, but only hurt it to force the creature to leave. Before long, adults from his family found him in the woods after the children ran home and told them what happened. He hadn't changed back yet, and it had already been over an hour. He didn't know what was going on, nor how long he would be like that. However, after members of his blood line arrived, he back to calm down. They knew that Alex was the true descendant of Fenrir, and would have to bear the burden of fighting if there was another ragnarok. Eventually, he turned back to normal and was back in the care of his family. They returned home and decided to begin physical training for Alex each day after he returns from school. That part of his daily life never changed, so Alex enjoyed every day of school.
Many years have passed, and Alex is now 21. His training never stopped over the years. He knew how to fight and defend himself, as well as survive on his own in case something were to happen. He grew up as a kind person, who spoke and acted properly, as someone of noble blood would. Alex was unable to live out on his own, for his family believed having mundane mortal things to worry about would interfere with his training. It never seemed to end in Alex's eyes. He has had to change forms multiple times for multiple reasons. The worst was just to get used to the pain it caused. His training is something he got used to, like a normal person would with getting a cold or a head ache, which is something that never happened to Alex. He was always healthy, due to his power.
Never once changing his feelings of his heart and soul, Alex is still a very kind person who puts others before him, neglecting things that should be special to him alone. Like today, it finally dawned on his that it was his 22nd birthday, and he was out in the woods. He smiled slightly and sighed deeply saying "Oops.." to himself. Alex wasn't one for self celebration, so he decided not to do anything. The friends he had didn't mention anything about it to him all day, so he figured they had forgotten. Things like that didn't matter to him, so he decided to stay where he was. However, it wasn't long before he began to feel weak, but not because he was tired or exhausted. He tried his hardest to stay awake and not pass out as he attempted to make his way out of the woods, but to no avail. Alex blacked out, and he fell into darkness.
It seemed as though only a second passed as Alex slowly began to regain himself. A water drop landed on his cheek and caused his facial muscles to flinch. He slowly opened his eyes and was taken aback by what his sight greeted him with. Lest he was a fool, he knew that there should be dirt and grass below him, however he was laying face down on stone. Cold, wet stone, that appeared to have come straight out of a history book. He slowly pulled himself to his knees and warily got to his feet. He placed a hand on a wall near him and began to walk out of what seemed to be an ally. The stone wall felt both smooth and rough under his fingertips as he used the wall for support. As Alex approached the end of the path, he could hear voices of people in that direction. His keen hearing could pick up things like that, which he was used to, but his head was still a little foggy and couldn't make out what they were saying. He noticed it was night where he was and most likely rained at some point, as the ground and walls were still wet. Upon reaching the end of the ally way, Alex froze in place as his slowly lifted his head to look at the buildings surrounding him. He recognized the architecture as something of Victorian era Europe. He shook his head and began to walk forward. He didn't know where he was going, but he decided to just keep walking. He had to regain his strength so taking it slow was his only option as he attempted to figure out where he was, or even how he got there.
((If I can get the stick out of my butt later, I'll probably spruce up the layout of the bio. I just made this real quick and got lazy with those details zz))
