Aliases: Maylene. Mey Rin’s first assignment as a sniper was to Japan, where they mispronounced her name as Mey Rin. Since she had just had a major life change in her new employment as a sniper, she decided a name change was also called for, and decided to adopt the mispronunciation as her name. She did not change it back when she began working for the Earl because she still identified, and still does identify, herself as a sniper, even if only secondarily.

However, she makes for a very clumsy maid, in large part because the glasses the Earl gave to her cracked not long after she got them, but she refuses to replace them.

Also her eyes are blue in her imagination when she is gushing over Sebastian. This is a highly important point that must not be glossed over.

History: Mey Rin worked as a maid for the Earl of Phantomhive until he was turned into a demon (but she just thinks he left). She loved being a maid, but she was employed because of her superb sniping abilities rather than her skills at cleaning, which at first were severely lacking but had improved much by the time her employment went defunct. Still, she has been finding it difficult to find work. Up until she stumbled into a portal to Genesis, she had been living with Bardroy, Finian, and Tanaka, her old co-workers, in the Earl's mansion, to which the servants are awaiting his return. It has been almost exactly a year since the Young Master and Sebastian left, and she misses them both terribly. She hopes to see them again one day, not knowing they are demons and how unlikely that is to occur. She still wears the clothes and glasses that the Earl gave to her, in his honor.
I have only a few more things to say on Mey Rin’s personality. The reason behind Mey Rin’s sudden complete personality change, which includes even a shift from a heavy bubbly Cockney accent to a plain English accent not unlike that of Ciel Phantomhive, that occurs when she is sniping or feels the need to be very serious is actually a very psychologically heavy one. In her previous employment as a sniper, she was forced to kill people she did not believe deserved to die, including the day Sebastian found her, when she was about to kill a father on orders. You see, her own father had died in combat. It was highly traumatic for her, and she hated to bring a similar fate on someone else; but she felt she could not make a living in any way besides sniping, and she had to eat. She had thought she would need to remain a sniper until she found a husband, but her work kept her away so much that she could not find a suitor, plus the few dates she managed to attain did not approve of her work, or rather were too intimidated by it. Her sniper employer also required her to loose her Cockney accent, because he wanted all his employees to reflect the high standing of his organization, and a Cockney accent did not at all fit the repertoire. Alone and despondent, she was overjoyed when that butler Sebastian noticed her potential and employed her under the Earl of Phantomhive. She knew her life had changed, and she also saw her appearance had dramatically changed, so she almost subconsciously decided to change her personality, which was actually a reversion to the personality she had had before she became a sniper, the personality she had had as a young girl, when she was clumsy and spoke in a Cockney accent.
