History: Ares; God of War, son of Zeus and Hera and the half-brother of the hero Hercules who's destruction he obsesses over. The other hero of Greece who became an object of obsession, but for different reasons, was Xena who he wished to lure back to her days as a feared warlord. His schemes often reflected this and they often failed but he was never discouraged. Ares would become mortal twice, the second time willingly to save Gabrielle and Xena's daughter Eve. Being restored to his godhood both times by the help of Xena.
After the Twilight of the Gods, Ares is one of the few Olympians left and continued to act as foil to Hercules and Xena, the latter of which ending upon Xena's death in Jappa. His plans for the future of Greece would change drastically as his realm started to collide with another and he found himself in Genesis. Though strange and foreign to him, Ares could sense all those who waged war against each other and saw potential to find new warlords and worshipers to serve him as he could also sense the return of not one, but two old friends close by.
