History: Loki was born as a misshapen Frost Giant to the Giant Laufey and later adopted by King Odin and his wife Frigga. Growing up and competing with Thor for the crown of Asgard. Something he later found that he would have never truly gotten. During Thor's coronation, Loki assisted the Jotuns into entering Asguard and attempt to steal the Casket of Ancient Winters out from under their noses. The attempt was a failure but Thor opt to counterattack and Loki joined him to Jotunheim. A counterattack which would lead to Thor's banishment.
Loki learned that he was a Frost Giant and that Odin didn't just adopt him out of the goodness of his heart, but from the belief that through Loki he'd be able to create peace between Asgard and the Frost Giants. Enraged, Loki shouted at his father until the stress of everything caused Odin to fall into the Odinsleep leaving Loki to take over Asgard as its king. To ensure Thor would remain on earth and Odin would die, Loki lied to his brother about his father's death and that he needed to remain banished to keep the peace and then went to the Giant Laufey giving him a chance to slay Odin in his sleep for return of the casket.
Loki plans would be foiled upon the return of his brother. The two would do battle which would end in Loki's defeat and presume death as he fell through a wormhold created by Bifrost's energy. But one should know better than to presume anything in this world. The wormhole brought Loki to an unknown part of the universe where he met "The Other" a servant of Thanos who offered Loki the chance to rule earth in return for the Tesseract. Receiving his Chitauri Scepter as a gift, Loki agreed and went to earth in search for the Tesseract that remained on its surface. There he did battle once again with his brother and the other heroes brought together to form The Avengers. He were defeated, bashed by The Hulk and brought into custody by Thor but before they could return to Asgard the conversing of the realms brought them to Genesis. In the forest of Moon Valley and Loki saw that time to escape and resumed his search for the Tesseract that appeared to have also been lost amidst their arrival.
