A grin found its way to her lips as he reached out and shook her hand. So he had manners after all. "Likewise," she said, turning and leaping up into a tree that leaned to the side. She walked along the narrow branches as a child would upon the curb of a street, arms out for balance, her tail flicking behind her.

"So...I'm hesitant to let you study my runes, but..." she glanced at him briefly, considering. "I have a friend who's been wanting to study them..." she frowned and watched her feet as she continued back and forth along the branch. Senji was a good friend, but she had never allowed him the chance to study her runes. She didn't even know much about them herself...that was one reason she refused. She was afraid to learn of them. What if he found something that she didn't want to know?

"I guess you're a good excuse to let him." she finally muttered, making up her mind. If two people took an interest in her runes, then it must mean she was meant to know.

And she'd rather not wait around to see if a third person showed up.

Too late. The Soul Reaper Xemnas had been watching the battle, waiting to intervene and strike the "Hollow" down. Sadly the demon ran away, and the Hollow ran after it. He hadnt been sensed yet due to Xemnas concealing his spiritual pressure. When the hollow ran away, Xemnas simply walked quickly after them. Why waste energy running after them when he can clearly sense their spiritual pressure from a distance? It didnt matter, for they were still close by.

Drawing his Zanpakuto, he approached them just as they were shaking hands. Pointing his Zanpakuto at the one called Ansem. Only now did he let his spiritual pressure be felt. Being just under the head Captain of the Gotei 13 in terms of power, such a spiritual pressure could make a normal human sick and immobile. Ansem would be able to move for sure, Xemnas could feel how powerful Ansem was. However he didnt know about the demon's power. Ansem's power of darkness seemed to cast a veil over her spiritual pressure. It was strange.

Xemnas flipped up his hood, causing his white hair to spill out over his shoulders. "Hollow... The time has come to cross over into the afterlife, You can go peacefully, or by the blade. Your choice. You have thirty seconds to make up your mind.", Xemnas said, with his orange, emotionless eyes staring deeply at the heartless.

Ansem was about to answer the girl when another voice called out to them, he turned and his eyes widened to see that it was Xemnas, but yet…it wasn’t Xemnas. There was no way that Xemnas would try to attack Ansem seeing as how they were allies, and his manner of speech was different then to what it usually was, not to mention that the magical pressure was different as well as Ansem’s eyes narrowed. The man called him a ‘Hollow’, whatever that meant, and judging by his words he wanted to send Ansem to the other world as he chuckled, ”You wish to kill me? How funny, regardless I am not this ‘Hollow’ you speak of, I do not even know what a Hollow is,” Ansem said, ”begone from my sight lest I be forced to fight you and summon my army of Heartless upon you,” he said as he unleashed a surge of magical pressure that flattened the ground beneath him as he levitated above the ground.

The appearance of someone else made the wolf girl shift into her wolf form on instinct, midnight fur sweeping across her pale skin as her bones shrunk and twisted into the shape of a canine. She seemed to disappear into the shadows, blending in perfectly. Only her golden eyes gave her away, the orbs burning like coals as she gazed silently as the newcomer spoke, pointing a sword at Ansem.

"Hollow... The time has come to cross over into the afterlife, You can go peacefully, or by the blade. Your choice. You have thirty seconds to make up your mind."

The hell was a hollow?

Hoping to remain unnoticed, the she wolf slunk off to the side, her own demonic energy rising to clash against the power of spiritual energy. Her red aura wasn't like theirs...instead of growing stronger on its own, it seemed to rise each time theirs did, as if to make her stronger only if necessary. She crouched down somewhere behind Ansem, her tail flicking back and forth in a very cat-like fashion.

For some reason, she didn't feel like running.

Xemnas noticed the other shift into a wolf form, with her siritual pressure backing up this other's to completely match his. Interesting... this one wasnt a hollow, lacked a hollow hole, and yet he felt just like one. He scratched his chin in contemplation , his eyes dipping downward as his face showed deep thought. "I see.. forgive me, you are similar to a race I am charged to exorcise. To satisfy my curiosity, I will fight you both. If you dont wish to fight, then I will not." Xemnas lowered his blade but did not put it away.

The man then seemed to calmed down when he realised that Ansem was not a 'Hollow' as he apologised and said that he did not want to fight unless he was attacked. Ansem closed his eyes and breath in and out before opening his eyes and nodded, "Very well I understand, I have no wish to fight you," he said as he looked at the wolf girl, "and I'm sure my 'friend' does not wish to fight you either I hope," as he looked at the Xemnas-like person, "now...who are you and what were you talking about before?" he asked.

Her golden eyes burned like coals as she listened to the exchange, ears swiveling atop her head to catch their words. Her fur smoothed out, shoulders relaxing when things began to calm down. Shifting back into her human form, she stepped back into view, eying the newcomer warily and swishing her tail behind her.

She said nothing, preferring rather to remain out of the conversation for now.

"When a soul is passed on to the next life in my world, that soul would go to the Rukon District or Rukongai. Once there, if they have any spiritual energy, they can go to the academy there to become soul reapers. after six years in the academy, or less, they can be accepted into one of the 13 court guard squads. The highest rank of each of these squads is captain, and the one below is lieutenant. I was the lieutenant of the command squad, squad 1. I was able to reach my limit in power, and was more than capable of reaching captain. I left, and was branded a traitor for it, and barred from ever coming back." Xemnas explained.

"As for a hollow, a hollow is the result of a soul not being sent on to hell or Rukongai. The soul 'Hollows' itself out and grants the newborn hollow tremendous power. as a price, they always have the urge to devour souls of living or nonliving souls. Their aura is most of the time dark in nature, so that is how I became confused. Oh.. I almost forgot... my name is Xemnas." Xemnas said, sliding his zanpakuto into its sheath.

Ansem listened to the explanation patiently as he digested it, it was an interesting notion, something that he never thought about. The afterlife was a concept that eluded him, after all he couldn't die, he would simply be sent back into the darkness and then who knows where...of course the thought of 'dying' terrified him, it would terrify anyone but he didn't often think about it. He raised an eyebrow when the man explained that he was branded a traitor for simply leaving, "It sounds quite harsh, being branded a traitor simply for leaving? I can't imagine many organisations even doing such a thing," Ansem remarked.

Another species it seemed that Ansem could experiment with if he ever captured one, these 'Hollows' seemed to be interesting and he could tell that they would have great darkness in them and therefore creating powerful Heartless, "And where would these Hollows usually reside or go to? Is there a specific place they are drawn to?" Ansem asked curiously as he smiled at the man's name, "I had a friend named Xemnas...he looked just like you," he remarked.

This was something she had heard of before.

Despite this, she continued to listen, and learned of a few things she didn't know about. After his lengthy explanation, the white-haired male stated that his name was Xenmas. She glanced at Ansem as he said he once had a friend with the same name and looks as the male who stood before them before she too, spoke up in answer to Ansem's question about Hallows.

"And where would these Hollows usually reside or go to? Is there a specific place they are drawn to?"

"I've seen them," she stated, taking one step closer, her wolf ears flattened back still in slight caution. "They chase me when I'm in human form, but the moment I shift into my demo form, they lose interest. I nearly lost my head one time when one of them caught me asleep." she could still see the eyes of the creature. It's eyes had been blood red and full of hunger. For what, she hadn't known.

Now she knew. They fed off of human souls.

"Their hunger clouds most of their intelligent thoughts. If it didnt, they would have figured out how to devour souls that are non human. as for your question, they do not appear until they attack, though usually they are drawn to lost souls that have yet to become hollows. Sometimes they will even devour each other." Xemnas answered, head cocked to the side out of curiosity. Why did this man want to know this?

"Why do you wish to know this?" Xemnas asked

Ansem was surprised that the wolf girl had seen the Hollows before, and escaped, he had a little bit of interest in her now...for her to be brave enough to attack him was one thing, but to survive something that ate human souls? That was indeed a thing that Ansem would find interesting as he smiled at her, "You were quite lucky to survive that encounter," he said.

He then turned to Xemnas as he asked him why he wanted to know where the Hollows congregate, "Isn't that obvious? So I know which places to avoid," he said simply though in reality he would find it hard to capture a Hollow. If they attacked lost souls then it would be much harder as Ansem had no clue on how to find a lost soul, but he would perservere and continue on with that line of thought and attempt to find these Hollows.

Blinking at him, she replied, "I hate to admit it, but you're right." Maybe she would just stay in wolf or demon form from now on. Getting her human soul eaten by a Hallow was not on her to-do list. As the two males continued to exchange words, Rina glanced over her shoulder at the glittering lake behind her and Ansem. Her tail swished nervously, wolf ears twitching atop her black hair. Well wasn't she a bit paranoid now? What with their talk of Hallows and all. She'd seen on night before last, so of course she had reason to be nervous.

But what she didn't know that being nervous instead of calm made her demonic energy lessen and her yellow, human energy spike.

The energy spike was enough to grab ahold of his attention, but it was not enough to draw any hollows out. They preffered to be where large populations of living people dwelled, where lost souls would more likely to be. "Is something bothering you? If you are worried about the hollows, you shouldnt. You are more than powerful enough to protect yourself. Do not worry." Xemnas said to the half demon in response to her reaction.

He looked between the two, smirked, then turned, starting to head away. "Sorry for my mistaking you for a hollow. I must be going.", Xemnas said as he walked onward, toward Hallowton.
