Hallowton. In recent times it had served as a magnet for demonic activity, mischief, and -on more then one occasion- destruction. It was a wonder the entire city hadn't been reduced to rubble by now with all of the events of just the past two or so months alone. But it seemed that it was all in the past and the city was on the mend. Slowly. But on the mend nonetheless. Maybe a sign that the end of this horror was on the way? Or had it already passed? Had she missed that much?
Saasha made her way through the streets of the city, surveying the new damage, old scars, and ghosts. It had a long way to go, but at least it was still standing... For the most part at least. She turned her eyes over the buildings carefully, searching for anything out of the ordinary. It had been months since her departure from the world with her master. Business is what had called her back again. Much to her regret.
It was not that she didn't like Genesis, but she did not feel a strong connection with it either. Personally, she would have loved nothing more than to have remained in either her world or her master's. and after having it revealed to her that contrary to her initial belief her father was not in this world anymore, she had even less will to come back. But. Duty was duty and she had a few things to get done to finish her job. One of which was helping to thin down the demon population. Now that she didn't mind in the least. However, the other chores lined up for her? Not so much.
As per usual, her beige messenger bag hung cross-wise over her shoulder and tapped her thigh as she walked. Her brown leather jacket had been layered over a black turtle neck sweater and hung down to her waist. The bottom of the sweater had been tucked into her dark jeans, revealing the plain black leather belt around her waist. On her feet were a pair of matching black leather boots. Overall a very none-outstanding ensemble, but then again her black-tipped orange hair caught enough attention usually. No need to add to it.
And it was like this that she made her way down the streets that would eventually lead her to the forest. Of course she could have just come into the world at her destination... But that would be doing things the easy way. Besides, she needed the semi-fresh air.

A dark shadow slink through the streets, yellow eyes glowing. Fangs snapped at the air as the form of a midnight black wolf limped down a dim ally, her fur dirtied and one back leg slick with blood. She left a trail behind her, her ears pinned as she continuously glanced over her shoulder as if to make sure she wasn't being followed. To any normal on-looker, the she wolfed appeared to be just what she was; a wolf. But to anyone who could sense spiritual and/or demonic energy, they would feel from the wolf a small amount of red, demonic energy. It rose and fell with her emotions. When she stopped ad glanced over her shoulder, the red energy lowered and a pale yellow, human energy spiked.
Some could be confused by this.
Slinking around a corner, she caught the scent of an unfamiliar person nearby, but her senses were so clouded by pain that she couldn't make out what they were. Or where.
Every second that passed, the wolf grew weaker. She'd been walking all day and was exhausted. Finally stopping beneath a crumbling stairwell, she dropped to the ground and curled up, motionless. The wind whispered through her fur gently before dying down, the sun tossing rays of light to come filtering down on her dark fur, warming her pelt and bringing a quiet sigh from her.
Her eyes looked up to see the person she had smelled earlier, but she did not move.

The smell. The smell was the first thing that caught Saasha's attention. Blood. Demon's blood. Fresh too. Her eyes narrowed as she stopped at the entrance to the ally, still watching the path she had been following- waiting. She may not have been under the order to protect anymore, but that did not mean that Saasha wasn't under the influence of old habits.
That is when the second of the scents stuck her. Human. A mix of the two. Either some poor mug had just become lunch or the two were a complete mix. Now that would be interesting... and coincidental.
Saasha turned as the wolf fell to the ground in a heap. Bloodied, battered, and weak, this being needed help. Too bad it was in the town. Not exactly the best place for an injured demon to be. Especially with who was standing over it.
As the fallen beast's eyes turned upward to meet her own brown ones, it would be met with a hard, cold stare of uncaring indifference. Watching, waiting, unmoving... Hungry.

A low, warning snarl rose in the wolf's throat, her neck fur standing on end as she watched the person warily, her own gaze just as hard. She was not afraid. There was something bigger out there she feared...
As if her thoughts summoned it, the hulking form of a shadow burst from beneath the feet of the person standing in front of the wolf. With a yelp of surprise and a fearful snarl, the black wolf leaped back, landing on three legs, her injured back one held up off the ground. The shadow demon hadn't given up like she had thought.

Saasha didn't budge. No flinch, no hesitation, no surprise. She had seen too much in her time to be shocked now. In fact, her hands didn't even move from her pockets. They didn't have to. Something else moved for her.
The shadows that lined the ally suddenly morphed and melted as rows of gnarled, misshapen hands sprung forth to seize the creature. Shadow demons. They all reached from the depths of the darkness to pull the 'thing' back into the ground, to drag it into the depths once again.

If she hadn't been in such a weakened state, the wolf would never had shifted back into her human form. Exhaustion clouded her eyes as she watched the smaller shadow demons drag the larger one back where it came from, it's defiant shrieks ringing in her ears. Golden eyes landed on the person who had not even moved an inch. What an amazing thing she could do.
The wolf-turned girl sat on the ground, her injured leg stretched out while the other curled below her, ready to push her into a standing position if the need arose. Her wolf ears were pinned against her midnight hair, tail wrapped around her waist, the tip flicking back and forth like a cats. Finally, she spoke, her voice slightly hoarse. "Thanks, but I'm guessing you didn't save me because of compassion." her gaze didn't waver in the slightest, despite how easy it was to see she was very tired.
It looked like this person was on a mission. She was sure rescuing her had not been on her to-do list.

"Good guess."
She gave the obviously meaningless compliment roughly. Pleasantries could be saved for later when she was more sure of who this was.
"I don't like demons in this town. Especially ones that bring trouble with them."
Ironic and hypocritical. But that was life in a nutshell.
"But we can talk over tea and cakes later. Right now, either you need to get out of sight of the people, or I can do it for you."

So her theory had been correct.
Shifting slightly to get more weight off of her leg, the wolf girl replied, "I am often mistaken for a dog. I guess I could shift back..." she trailed off, wondering if she had enough energy to do so. Shutting her eyes, she furrowed her brows in concentration. Black fur scoured her skin as her bones twisted into the shape of a wolf, golden eyes blending with green.
Turning her head to lick at a cut on her shoulder, the she wolf gave a soft sigh and looked at the other female in question. Would this work?

"Oh yes, a bleeding wolf trailing behind a random woman. That won't attract any attention. Just duck further into the alley."
She ordered with slight exasperation. She didn't have time to deal with this... She needed to get to the manor. However, something tugged at her to stay. And naturally, her nature took her over and her curiosity prevailed. Curse it all.
"Let's get out of sight first, then we can talk."

She had forgotten how bad her injuries would look to other people. Ducking her head in a nod, the black she wolf rose to her three paws and limped deeper into the ally, slinking out of sight as she vanished into the shadows. Her golden eyes flashed from over her shoulder as she waited to see where they were going.

Saasha followed quietly behind a few paces, making sure they were not followed and that the wolf didn't sprint off. Not that it could with that leg. So far, the fact that she was being so cooperative worked well in her favor however, and warranted Saasha's shoulders relaxing a touch as they progressed farther into the alley.
Past the broken and cracked windows, past the jagged stone work under their feet, past the reaches of the sounds of the city streets, deeper they went. Taking this turn, that fork, this corner, until finally they reached their destination and Saasha came to a halt. An opening in the narrow alley that led into a rather sizable ring of stone walls. It was large to be sure, but barren. Just a circular courtyard of sorts with nothing out of the ordinary to make it stand out at all. And that was why Saasha had come here. It was secluded- out of the way. Perfect.
A bird flew over the open top, cawing down at the strange pair. A breeze ruffled the dead leaves dotting the area, curling them over themselves like waves in an invisible tide. It was quiet. Until Saasha's deep, smooth voice chimed out in the low light of the shading walls.
"What in the world took a bite out of you?"

The black she wolf followed quietly, the every so often scraping of her nails on the concrete ground and her panting the only sounds around them for a time. Why was she being so cooperative? "Well look at you!" she told herself. "What choice do you have?"
As hey came to their destination, Rina instantly sank to the ground and placed he head on her paws, heaving a sigh, her sides rising and falling with the action.
"What in the world took a bite out of you?"
Looking up at her words, the she wolf tilted her head to the side like a curious pup and then shifted back, remaining seated on he ground. The bird that had flown overhead had circled back, and she glanced up at its cry, watching it for a moment before replying. "What attacked me are called Hallows. I live out in the desert, and when I'm in my human form, I run into one, they attempt to eat my soul. I shifted just in time...but it clipped me on my leg before I could." she frowned. "And then that shadow demon came after me." she finished.

"Sounds like you are good at making friends. So I will tell you what-"
Saasha crossed her arms and leaned one shoulder against the entrance way rather aloofly. A rather interesting contrast to her previous stature.
"Since I don't think you came to cause any trouble- at least not on purpose- how about this. You keep your nose clean while you are here and I might be able to get you some help with your pest control problem."

Snorting at the word "friends", she watched how the woman's demeanor changed. She seemed much different from before
[color=yellow"I can do that. It's not often I end up getting chased by hollows, but when I do, they tend to make a big deal out of it." she made a face and frowned.
