‘‘You lost, Ghost--wha?.’’ A woman in tattered, leather armor stumbled forward and fell to the gravel. What just happened? Wasn't she just facing her puppet master and about to find out a terrible truth? She got to her feet and brushed rocks off her skin. She was home. Strange. Was this another trick to break her? All of her senses said this was real, but her paranoia was screaming otherwise. One hand rested on her gun while the other opened the door. There was no one home. Everything was as she had left it.
Leaving things to chance wasn't in her book anymore. Both guns were ready to fire at anything that appeared to be amiss. If her family was home, if they were her family, they'd sense her presence.

It was early morning and Sazan was snuggled up next to her husband underneath the covers on their bed. They had decided to sleep in today, wanting a well-deserved break from the drama of the worlds and after the incident in Isafaro it was going to take another disaster to get her out of bed and away from her husband again. And of course right on cue Sazan would sense something coming from downstairs, something she has not sensed for months.
The hybrid quickly got up from her bed and put on a sky blue colored pair of Pajamas to cover herself, grabbing the 11mm Blessing and slowly proceeding down the stairs to the floor below. Brown eyes coming on a figure she couldn't believe was actually there. She blinked a few times and rubbed her eyes, even pinched herself to make sure she wasn't dreaming before descending down the last couple of steps and out into the open for the woman to see.
“Amoura?”

Amoura?
"...Sazan?" Amoura lowered her guns, "I...how? How did I get here? I was talking to Tajna one moment and the next, I appeared in front of the house." Something was amiss. The place looked a little more worn by time, her coat was still hanging by the door but it had collected some dust in the fabric, and her favorite books were no longer on the coffee table. "How much time has passed?"

"...Sazan? I...how? How did I get here? I was talking to Tajna one moment and the next, I appeared in front of the house."
Sazan was speechless, absolutely speechless. It was as if she saw a ghost, and for all the hybrid knew she was seeing a ghost. But the scent, the power, it was all the same. This was Amoura, it just had to be. She was back! Sazan put away her gun and wrapped her arms around Amoura holding her into a warm and tight embrace as tears of joy fell down her cheeks.
“It's you! I can't believe it. It's really you!”
"How much time has passed?"
Sazan paused the celebration and stepped back, trying to find a way to tell her gently but there was just no way.
“You've been away since my wedding night.”
Sazan remembered that day almost too perfectly. It had been like a slice of heaven at first, until the reception moments after that provoked the First Aspect causing everyone to retreat to Utopia and then Amoura to begin her search for the shroud. Whatever happened between now and then, it was obvious that something or someone took her outside of space and time. With Tajna's name having been uttered that much was self-explanatory.
“You've been gone for a year and six months.”

Amoura embraced Sazan tightly. Gods, she didn't know if she was going to be able to see her again and it was wonderful knowing she was out of that hell. Sazan answered her question as to when she was last seen: Sazan's wedding night. Aside from Veran's sudden intrusion, it was a beautiful evening. Everyone had smiles on their faces and the burdens of an impending doom had been lifted from every shoulder. "Okay and how long ago was that?" Amoura wasn't expecting that length of time to pass. A year and six months. "Well, I have a lot of catching up to do." She sat down on the couch and patted the empty space next to her, "Tell me some important things that happened."

"Well, I have a lot of catching up to do."
“Girl, you don't know the half of it.”
"Tell me some important things that happened."
“Well, after you left for the shroud Miracle sought out to finish the work Aper began leading to many having to hold her off from destroying the tower. After that my mother tried to merge every single universe together so she could rule over it all, of course we managed to stop her though I use the term we loosely since I wasn't present for that. Vulture led an army into Hallowton and seriously wrecked the place, killing the Queen and nearly conquering us until Arix returned and helped force them back. The Queen's daughter Princess Lori ascended the throne upon the Queen's death and she has been ruling ever since. I got a job as the Queen's lead royal adviser and now I've been appointed as Grand Duchess of Hallowton. And my aunt was killed, went to hell, raised an army and came back conquering half the continent before we all banded together and forced her back into the desert where she was recently beheaded...”

Amoura looked like a deer caught in the headlights. Ranko dead again. Vulture attacking Hallowton. Maricul being her bitchy self. She certainly missed a lot. "...damn. Things weren't that eventful for me. The last thing I remember was Tajna teasing my curiosity of who was behind Veran's mask." The Night Angel twisted a chunk of leather that had been torn from her armor between her fingers, "I can't recall much else. I know we got into some sort of fight, I kept laughing at his attempts to break me, and now I'm here. Don't even know why the fight happened in the first place." It was so strangely fuzzy. But why?

"...damn. Things weren't that eventful for me. The last thing I remember was Tajna teasing my curiosity of who was behind Veran's mask."
Sazan never thought about what lay beneath Veran's mask. She always assumed that it was a vast abyss of pure darkness that threatened to consume you if you opened it. Some questions were better left unanswered, and what lay beneath the mask was one of them. The hybrid didn't know just how close to the truth she was.
"I can't recall much else. I know we got into some sort of fight, I kept laughing at his attempts to break me, and now I'm here. Don't even know why the fight happened in the first place."
“I thought Tajna was helping us stop The End. Why would he want to break you?”

"That's what I can't remember. It's like someone put a block in the way of those memories," Amoura scratched her scalp and only then noticed her hygienic state. Her hair was untamed, slightly oily, and the smell made her nose wrinkle. There was dirt, caked blood, and other messes blotched onto her skin and destroyed armor. "Could I, er, shower first? I'll tell you more once I'm clean."

"That's what I can't remember. It's like someone put a block in the way of those memories."
“We'll figure it out, Amoura. It's what we do.”
"Could I, er, shower first? I'll tell you more once I'm clean."
“Of course! Help yourself. Everyone is going to freak when they see you're back.”

"I'd freak out too if someone disappeared for that long and suddenly returned." Amoura got up from the couch and stretched. "I won't be long." She walked towards the stairs and stopped at the first step, "Sazan? It's really good seeing you again. You'll let the others know I'm home, right?" The Night Angel didn't stick around to hear her answer since she knew Sazan would be eager to tell everyone she was home.
But something wasn't right.
While she gathered her clothes that had the "sat-inside-the-furniture-for-too-long" smell, she tried to recall what happened at Utopia. Did Tajna get sick of her behavior and sent her away from any chance of saving the universe? It was an unsettling prospect, but she had another event going on: reunion. She didn't want to look battle-worn and stepped into the restroom to shower off any trace of it. Everyone will have questions and she'll have to be prepared for quite the bombardment.

"I'd freak out too if someone disappeared for that long and suddenly returned."
“I mean the good kind.”
"I won't be long. Sazan? It's really good seeing you again. You'll let the others know I'm home, right?"
“Absolutely!”
Sazan ran upstairs to her room and over to the right side of the bed where Michael was still sleeping and began to shake him back and forth.
“Michael, wake up! Something incredible has happened you're not going to believe it!”

"Five...more minutes." Michael groaned in his sleep and swatted at the air in front of him, "Five more minutes, blast it! The concoction isn't rea--huh?" He sat up and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. The poor guy's hair was so disheveled, one might think his head was stuck in a toilet then flushed. "News? What news?"
Glass shattered from the downstairs bathroom. The sorcerer grabbed his staff leaning against the bedpost, wrapped the blanket around his waist and bolted down the stairs before his wife could say anything in protest. "'ey! Who's in there! I'll knock down the door!"
"You do that and I'll skin you alive, you bastard!"
Michael froze in place. "...Amoura?"
"...is about to take a shower."
"...right. Uh...Sazan? Robe? Please--oops!" He grabbed the blanket that was now slipping away from his waist.

"Five...more minutes."
“Seriously?”
"Five more minutes, blast it! The concoction isn't rea--huh? News? What news?"
Sazan brought a hand to her mouth to giggle at Michael's bedhead before lowering it in order to speak, but she only got the chance to open her mouth slightly before the vampire was already storming downstairs towards the noise the Night Angel had made.
“Dammit. Michael!”
The hybrid chased him downstairs to the bathroom door.
"'ey! Who's in there! I'll knock down the door!"
“Michael!”
"You do that and I'll skin you alive, you bastard!"
"...Amoura?"
"...is about to take a shower."
Sazan crossed her arms in front of her chest and simply gave Michael a look to know that he screwed up.
"...right. Uh...Sazan? Robe? Please—oops!"
The hybrid's eyes went south as a small smile curved her lips.
“Maybe we should go back to bed.”

"Well, I suppose we co--" Michael would have finished the sentence, and with a devious smirk, had it not been for the sudden disruption around the house. Mirrors were shattering. The smile was wiped off his face and the staff began to hum just as the last one cracked. "Sazan, when Amoura came here, did you sense anything different about her?"
"What about me?" Amoura had stepped out of the restroom, hands on her hips, her body covered by a white, fluffy towel and her wet hair caught up in another towel, "And what was with all the glass shattering that I heard? Do we have a robbery taking place?"
"No. We could have invited a poltergeist in here somehow but that'll take a little time to figure out."
