Soon the three of them arrived at Sector 4, home of the resistance, it was the one place where Vulture's men could not penetrate and where refugees and resistance members alike call home. Nadia waved at the guards as they took a look at them and waved them in, "Welcome back Nadia, how was patrol?" one of the guards asked.

"Boring as usual, picked up a woman here who's looking for her sister," Nadia said pointing to Kat.

"Her sister? Here?" the guard asked looking at Kat suspiciously as Nadia nodded.

"Yeah I thought the same thing too, but she seemed to be genuine in her goal, I thought I'll just let her be here, but I'll keep a close eye on her," Nadia said as Rebecca guided Kat through the rebel base.

[Chloe/Kat]

Kat looked around the front of the military base as they arrived. It looked the same as any of the others she had seen since arriving in Isafaro, the only difference were the lack of a Vulture insignia and the soldiers wearing blue, no doubt in order to differentiate themselves from the enemy. How the Vulture hasn't been able to take this military base back yet were beyond her knowledge but then again the war wasn't her business or her problem. She just needed to find her sister, for good or for bad, Kat needed to know her fate.

"Who's in charge here?"

It always amazed Nadia to see the resistance base look so efficient, she had never seen a base that was so efficient before, everything was where it should be and everyone knew what everyone's other roles are. It also amazed Nadia to see that the defences are just as good as ever, even though they were always constantly attacked she was sure that the defences would always hold.

So who's in charge here?

"That would be Imai Katayo," Nadia replied, "we'll take you to her now," she said.

[Ayen]

As the group entered the military base and traveled the halls for Imai's office they would be stopped by their top general, The Genius, who was heading in the opposite direction from them before spotting.

“Ms. Cassel, Ms. Chambers, who is this?”

Ms. Cassel, Ms. Chambers, who is this?

The two soldiers saluted when they met their general, the one in charge of their missions and overall person to go to when in dire straits. "Her name is Kat sir, we picked her up during our patrol where we encountered a hostile enemy, she was a civilian being harassed by said enemy and we rescued her. She's here in Isafaro looking for her sister based on a series of tips, we couldn't let her go unprotected especially in the slum area so we thought that she would be well protected here in Sector 4," Nadia said.

[Chloe/Kat]

Kat was confused when she saw two adults saluting a child who appeared to have been ripped out of the early 1900s. At first she thought this kid must have been the daughter of Imai or something but they were acting like she held a high rank in the Resistance. Were there no child labor laws in this place?

"I'm sorry, I'm confused here. Why are you guys saluting a kid?"

[Ayen]

"Her name is Kat sir, we picked her up during our patrol where we encountered a hostile enemy, she was a civilian being harassed by said enemy and we rescued her. She's here in Isafaro looking for her sister based on a series of tips, we couldn't let her go unprotected especially in the slum area so we thought that she would be well protected here in Sector 4."

"I'm sorry, I'm confused here. Why are you guys saluting a kid?"

“They're not. Don't let appearances fool you. I may appear as a child but I am much more older than the three of you of you put together. Now, who was this enemy you speak of? Was it a Vulture soldier? Are you sure you weren't followed?”

"The enemy was some sort of living virus sir, we didn't stick long enough to know what it was capable of, but it did seem it was capable of teleportation. We don't believe it was a Vulture soldier though we are not 100% sure if that's true or not, and along they way we used several counter-evasive movements and made sure to use every confusion tactic in the book. We're certain that we're not followed by anyone," Nadia reported.

[Chloe/Kat]

"Okay..."

This place was strange. First they put barcodes on your flesh, then they had living viruses and strange women with swords who just walked up to you casually, and now they had generals who looked like little kids but were actually older than you? Kat decided it was best to just let it be and stay on point with why she came to this world to begin with.

"I'm looking for this woman."

Kat pulled out the picture of Chloe and held it up for Genius to see.

"Have you seen her?"

“A living virus? I doubt it was part of Vulture as well, if it was then it would have been trying to hack into our systems by now. Not wandering out into the open harassing random civilians.”

"Okay... I'm looking for this woman. Have you seen her?"

Genius viewed the photo of Kat's sister and instantly memories of that night on the Black Desert where she discovered the truth about Yahweh and Beelzebub, as well as the origin of the Arashi, came to the forefront of her memories. But since then the vampiress has never laid eyes on the former Empress of Jherrazad again.

“Yes, actually. But not for a long time. You won't find her in Isafaro. After the war with the Netherrealm Chloe fell off the face of the planet and is presumed dead. I know that's probably not the news you'd want to hear, but it's the truth.”

Kat hardly believed it when Genius said that she had seen her sister. At long last after months of searching she was finally getting somewhere. She owed Nadia and Rebecca a great thanks for bringing her here, but as she feared the answer was something she didn't want to hear. Some of it didn't make sense, like the Netherrealm. She didn't know what the Netherrealm was outside of being a location on a video game back home. But war? Presumed dead? No...

"Presumption isn't the same as fact. Where was she last seen?"

[Ayen]

"Presumption isn't the same as fact. Where was she last seen?"

“The Empire of Jherrazad located in the black desert. Where she went from there, is anyone's guess. That was six months ago.”

Chloe could be anywhere on Genesis now with the current time gap, and that was assuming she was still on Genesis and didn't fall through some dimensional vortex between now and then. The chances of Kat finding her sister were slim, and it was impossible to say if there were anything left to find given what word came about the Empress' mental state in the aftermath of her battle with Ranko.

“We'll do everything we can with the resources provided to help you track down your sister, but we can make no promises. Until then if you'd like a place to stay you're welcomed to remain here. I am sure Ms. Cassel and Ms. Chambers will be glad to see to your needs during your stay.”

The two soldiers were surprised that their commander had indeed seen the woman's sister, however it was not the news that they wanted to hear and neither would Kat as Rebecca put a reassuring hand on Kat's shoulder, "I'm sorry," she said in sympathy.

“The Empire of Jherrazad located in the black desert. Where she went from there, is anyone's guess. That was six months ago. We'll do everything we can with the resources provided to help you track down your sister, but we can make no promises. Until then if you'd like a place to stay you're welcomed to remain here. I am sure Ms. Cassel and Ms. Chambers will be glad to see to your needs during your stay.

The two soldiers went to attention and saluted, "Yes sir," Nadia said as Rebecca was glad that at least Chloe was alive and that the rebels were going to help Kat find her. she would also help Kat since she didn't like to see people sad nor did she like them to be hurt either, "Come on Kat, I'll guide you to your room," she told the woman.

[Chloe/Kat]

"Six months?"

Kat couldn't believe her sister had been MIA for six months. There was no telling where she was now, or what condition she was in, but regardless of that, Kat wouldn't give up the search for good or for bad. She had to find out what happened to her sister or risk the chance of never having a good night's sleep again.

"I'm not done yet," said Kat to Nadia and Rebecca before turning back to Genius. "What was my sister up to before her disappearance?"

[Ayen]

"Six months?"

Genius nodded.

"I'm sorry."

"Yes sir."

"Come on Kat, I'll guide you to your room."

"I'm not done yet. What was my sister up to before her disappearance?"

“Leading a nation. Your sister wasn't just living in Jherrazad; she was the Empress of Jherrazad. She ascended the throne after killing the former Empress who would later return to life as Queen of the Netherrealm.”
