Tori looked at her watch while pacing back and forth at the entrance of the forest behind her house with Lily, Nex, Shinta and Mary already present. Tori had sent a message to Kara, Ariel and Merida to meet them here as they had something important to share with all three of them. Tori was told repeatedly by the others to stop pacing but once she got going she couldn't stop until the thing she was waiting for came. And out of the corner of her eye she'd see someone coming along in the distance, finally ceasing her pace and turning to be in full view of the first person to arrive after receiving her message.

She had no idea what was going on. The princess only knew that Tori had called her, Kara, and Ariel to the forest to talk about something, but that was all she was going to say. After recent events she had no intention of stepping out of that house without her weapons and cloak should she need to make a run for it. "A'hm 'ere," Merida pushed back the hood of her cloak, and her wild mane of orange-red hair poofed out around her shoulders and back, "Yew mentioned it wuz somethin' important, aye?"

Kara didn't know what Tori wanted to meet her for she could only assume that it was an important matter with how urgent she sounded over the phone. The ex Woman of Steel greeted Tori's parents and then were led over to the back of the house where Tori and the others were. The only one she didn't recognize was Merida but there would be time for introductions later as she approached the group.
"I'm here."

Ariel couldn't help but wonder why on earth Tori had called her out here and it sounded urgent too which made the Mermaid begin to worry. She came around to the back of the farm and over into the entrance of the forest where the others were waiting for them all. "I'm here." Her eyes fell on Tori and she walked over to the girl holding out a hand to her. "Is everything okay?"

"A'hm 'ere."
Tori finally stopped pacing and looked over to Merida, pleased to see one of the three expected had finally arrived.
"Yew mentioned it wuz somethin' important, aye?"
“Yes. When the others get here I'll explain.”
"I'm here."
“Kara. I don't believe the two of you have been introduced yet. Kara, this is Merida. Merida, Kara.”
"I'm here."
“Lots of I'm heres,” said Nex, “I would have gone with a, “I have arrived!” myself.”
“That means exactly the same thing,” said Lily.
“Or does it?”
Lily rolled her eyes.
"Is everything okay?"
“Everything is fine and hopefully it will be even better than fine. Mary.”
Mary sat up from the nearby stone and walked up next to Tori to address the others.
“There has been stories told here since we were little that a long time ago someone from the desert came with a magic lamp in his pocket. But while up in the mountains he was attacked by a bear and lost it while trying to get away. It's a long shot but there's a small, small chance that the lamp is still in those mountains somewhere waiting to be found.”
“You all know the story I'm sure. Magic lamp, rub it and out comes a Genie to grant you three wishes.”
Tori held out her index finger towards Merida, Kara and Ariel,
“One, two, three.”
“You think we could ask for more wishes?”
“You know we can't.”
“But what if we asked for more genies?”
“Guy has a point.”
“I'd imagine the same rules would apply.”
“We don't need more genies there are six of us, if all goes well.”
Tori looked at Merida and then Ariel.
“If we're successful I can wish the two of you back to your respective worlds.”
Tori then looked at Kara and walked up to her, taking her by the hand and holding it up in her own.
“And I think you already know what I plan to wish for you.”

Home? If all goes well Merida could go back home? A light flared in the red head's eyes at this newly found hope. She'd see her mother, her father, and her pesky little brothers! Then they'd all be together happily and safe within the wall of their kingdom.
...or will they?
Merida's smile faded when this realization settled in. If there were others like Loki, gods with a power so strong they could reflect sword and arrow, then Merida may have to take a different approach to this wish. "...Toree, aye..." Merida sighed, "A' want tew go home. A'h really dew but..." It couldn't hurt to ask this of her. It was for entirely selfless reasons, right? "Instead of sendin' me home, a'd like a means to protect others from gods like Lokee. If anyone like 'im came tew ma home, we'd 'ave no way to defeat 'im or slow 'im. We'd be defenseless. A'h don't want ta lose ma family in that way..."
Merida wanted to return home more than anything, but she knew deep down this was a sacrifice that had to be made. She'll get another chance to return and this time she'll be able to keep her loved ones safe. Then, she heard something behind her. It was like hearing a small child sigh. Wait...she knew that sound. Merida turned and saw:
A Will-O'-the-Wisp.
Merida looked at Tori, wide eyed, and with a smile on her face, "That's a Will-O'-the-Wisp. Legend says they will lead yew tew yer fate. A'h think...they'll take us to yer lamp."

Kara's eyes began to water up by the time Tori took her hand, unable to keep the tears in her eyes from falling down the cheeks at the realization of what Tori was doing for her. They weren't tears of sadness, but tears of joy as she embraced her friend and held her tight.
"Thank you, Tori! Thank you so much!"
Kara heard something that sounded like a small child sighing and released her hold on Tori to turn around to see the object surrounded by what looked like blue flames to her. Listening to Merida's explanation before looking back at the others.
"Let's go."

Ariel's eyes lit up in excitement at the story she was hearing. A magic lamp? Genies? Three wishes? She could wish for anything, then. She could wish to become human, a real live human without ever having to worry about being touched by water again. But then she heard what Tori had intended to wish for her and that smiled faded somewhat. "But, if I go home I'll never see you again." Ariel had grown attached to the people here, it was true that she missed her home and family but if she went back she would just miss them all too. Ariel couldn't win either way it seemed.
Ariel was the next person to be lured towards the Will-O'-the Wisp and started to move towards it, hunched down slightly. Bringing up her hands and trying to catch it only for it to vanish and then reappear a little further on out down the path it was meaning to lead them on. Ariel straightened herself up and looked over to Merida. "What is it exactly?"

“If you're sure that's what you want.”
"Thank you, Tori! Thank you so much!"
“It's the least I can do after everything you've done for us.”
"But, if I go home I'll never see you again."
“Don't think about it. Just remember the good times we shared.”
"That's a Will-O'-the-Wisp. Legend says they will lead yew tew yer fate. A'h think...they'll take us to yer lamp."
"What is it exactly?"
“Our ticket to getting you guys wishes fulfilled.”
"Let's go."
Tori led the others through the forest following the Will-O'-the-Wisp. The closer they got to one it disappeared and then another showed itself just a little further down their path. This continued until Tori and the group found themselves in front of a dark cave entrance. Lily grabbed a lighter from her pocket and handed it over to Tori to light the way inside the cave. She slowly entered the inside and began to look around before looking back to the others.
“Stay close.”

"A' Will-O-Tha'-Wisp is a bein' o' magic. All they dew is lead ye' to yer fate." Merida explained as they followed the blue-dotted trail of Wisps, "They appeared ta me thrice. First, when a' was a wee lass. They led me out o' tha forest durin' the time when Mor'du, a be-ear and a' best o' legend, was still runnin' 'round tha land. Tha secon' time, I wuz led to a witch o' gave me a magic spell tew change me mum." Merida took out her sword and cut down some of the branches that stood in everyone's way, "Ye see, me mum an' I didn't see eye-ta-eye an' she wanted me ta get married. I wanted to change ma' fate by changin' ma mum."
The archer looked over her shoulder and gave her friends a forced smile, "An', well, she changed into a bear. Tha' third time, I was led to 'er when ma father was 'bout to kill 'er since he hunted bears."
Speaking of bears, that cave looked very dangerous. It wasn't because there could be a chance of a cave in, no. Bears loved caves. Caves usually had bears. Merida swallowed and had her bow ready. "Careful..."

"You turned your mom into a bear?"
And Kara thought she used to give her mother a hard time. Raising a child that could cause your entire house to collapse if she wasn't careful couldn't have been easy but it never came to animal morphing. Although there were times where her dad acted like a bear when he was mad.
Kara did as both Tori and Merida instructed and kept an eye out for anything outside of the group that moved. If they ran into trouble the former Woman of Steel feared that she wouldn't be much help without her powers but no good could come from dwelling too much on that fact. She could only hope that the genie in the lamp wasn't just a myth.

"You turned your mom into a bear?"
“That must have been some adventure.”
“Is it safe to assume you were grounded for life after that?”
“I'd change my dad into a bear but most wouldn't notice the difference.”
“Really, how could you try to change your mother like that?”
“Oh, like you've never done anything wrong in your whole life.”
“Mary likes Twilight. That's pretty wrong.”
“Nex!”
“Oh? You like stalker vampires who sparkle in the sun, do you?”
“Shut up!”
“Guys, be quiet!”
"Careful..."
“She's right. You never know when we might run into... MOR'DU!”
The others jumped at the sudden shout, Tori spun around and gave Lily a disapproving stare as Lily was beside herself with laughter.
“What is the matter with you!?”
“It was only a joke.”
While Lily continued to laugh the others suddenly went dead silent, Lily stopped laughing and looked at them strangely.
“What?”
A growl met her question and Lily felt a shiver shoot up her spine as she turned around and saw...
