History:
Not much is known of the past for the one called Devlen. When he appeared on the shores of Castillia he made sure to write his name in history by cutting down the royal army with his Lue’Zhan. Devlen would skyrocket himself to the top of the most wanted list within Castillia during the short war and when his father was assassinated Devlen took over ruthlessly beating back an Ajerian offensive and and took lady Cyris as his personal body guard. For Devlen, his time was spent with politics for the time being, messages from across seas lead him to crossing the Chaos army and he brought the fight to them.
In his absence the Kingdom was looked over by his delegates, Devlen and Cyris along with several hundred warships sailed for the unknown lands where they crossed the Chaos lords and utterly destroyed them. He claimed the land sending word back to the mother land to take control of it before it fell to lost hands. The Dematri army moved on back to the capital where Devlen and Cyris would settle for a short while being stuck back into the world of politics. The two, Cyris and Devlen, would marry and attempt a life of peace.
This was until the prison tower exploded releasing the Ajerians once again. “What do you think caused it,” Devlen asked Cyris looking at the ruins from the old village port.
“The Ajerians are loose,” Cyris simply said to him. She knelt down and placed her hand against the ground. A moment later the entire ground lit up with different paths of green energy, it traced out footsteps, drag trails, and even hidden areas. Both of her eyes began glowing brightly until she stood up and the energy in the area faded away again, “They scattered. By essence they could be everywhere in this city. The Judgment were also present… And a true blood.”
“True blood?”
“Yes, a living Ajerian, one of the last of his kind. The feeling of his power, it’s ancient,” She brushed the dirt off her hand and looked at Devlen with concern in her face, “Devlen, a full blooded Ajerian is a fearful creature. The ancients wrought fear in even the Knights of Chaos, Amon, the leader of the Abysmal Knights feared the Ancients wrath. They are legends and myths feared by all demons in the underworld. If this is truly what it seems, we may be facing the worst nightmare Castillia has ever seen.”
Devlen looked around at the setting and began to smile, “If that’s all, then this will be easy.”
“There’s something odd about this…”
Devlen began at once setting up defensive measures in order to halt an uprising. He sent message to Saitarus to send additional troops. There were a lot of preparations to take before the strike would happen, if it would happen. For starters, Devlen moved the Lue’Zhan out away from the throne room spreading them to strategic positioning throughout the lands of Castillia. This thinned out Devlens guard considerably leaving him wide open to assassination attempts, just as he wanted it. If an assassination attempt was put on his life, he had a chance to capture the assassin and interrogate them for information. Of course, this relied on the off chance that he would be attacked.
Devlen was standing on the overlook to the city and watched as several explosions took out large sections of town, each one a different color than the last. His eyes widened as more explosions lit the area up, “What is happening?” The Ajerian War had begun. The explosions he was watching were Ajerians self-destructing their power into miniature atomic bombs. Whoever was behind the attacks knew of the Ajerian physiology, they had to be ancient in order to fully understand the extent of the explosion an Ajerian could put off.
Cyris never returned to Devlen leaving him to believe she had died in battle. He fought his way through Ajerians until he faced off against the Old One and went to combat against the elder True Blood Ajerian. The Ajerian retreated after several skirmishes to the Tenth gate and Devlen followed bringing the fight head on to the Ajerian and eventually cutting him down. The lost power of the true blood warrior opened the tenth gate completely and Devlen stared into it.
It took a year maybe two before he decided throwing things through the portal was deemed safe. He set up a legion of a hundred men and together they marched through the gates ending up in Genesis.
