There was unease between the citizens of Xanarnis and the elven people that were brought in after the Sith attack destroyed their home. People of Xanarnis was already protesting their presence while the elves themselves were weary to trust any of the humans on board that actually wanted to help them. Peace negotiations weren't going to be easy even now. Already the elves made assumptions that they were only looking out for their own interests in helping with the attack. In a way they were. But how could they not see the benefits of befriending them? Doing so would provide them with one less enemy here in Elim. Ashley would have to tread carefully when speaking with the elves.
Ashley was in her office at City Hall looking out the window that oversaw the fountain up front. She heard footsteps behind her as one of her people stepped into the doorway of her office to speak with her.
"Madam President. That woman we found during the attack wishes to speak with you."
"Send her in."
The man nodded and then headed out to fetch the Warrior Princess as Ashley turned away from the window and waited.

Xena entered Ashley's office, her eyes examining her surroundings as she walked. The Warrior Princess was still adjusting to this new world and this city was unlike any place she visited back home. Though many things weren't all that different from her home, war for instance was more or less the same but with even deadlier weapons than she came to know. But the buildings, weapons, equipment, even things like medicine has changed sufficiently. Xena came to a stop a few feet away from the entrance of the office, looking over to Ashley and greeting her.
"Nice place."

"I doubt you came all this way to compliment my office."
Ashley walked over to behind her desk and took a seat. Offering Xena the chair across from her desk if she wished it before continuing.
"What is it you wish to discuss?"

"Now that you mention it I do have a few questions."
Explained Xena, seeing Ashley invitation to sit down and choosing to remain standing.
"I'd like to know more about that 'thing' back in the village that was being attacked."

"The ship?"
Ashley observed her style of dress. A fish out of water story if she ever saw one. At least in Xanarnis. Anywhere else in Elim Xena would fit in well enough. Though some places an outfit like that is bound to get unwanted attention. She looked like the type who could take care of herself though.
"We weren't able to learn much about it aside from the damage it was able to do to the elf tribe. Somehow or another the ship was destroyed while in orbit and that's the only reason we aren't faced with an invasion at this very moment."

"I'm not talking about the ship."
This would probably come as a surprise to Ashley, then again it was hard to tell. She showed all the signs of a good, strong leader. Authoritative, straightforward and nigh impossible to read when it came to her facial expressions. Wasn't afraid of sacrifice either by the looks of it. But that little girl back there... It made her wonder.
"I'm talking about the child that killed those men back there."

"Las Plagas. She's a demon under our control which is summoned upon in only the dire of circumstances. Don't be fooled by her appearance. She is not a child. She's a dangerous entity that would very well be destroying large parts of the continent right now had it not been for us capturing her. Is there anything else you need to know?"

Ashley was more straightforward and honest about the demon child's presence in her nation than the Warrior Princess had expected her to be. Nonchalant, even. Maybe harboring demons were considered the norm around here but that didn't make it any less dangerous.
"Do you make it a habit enslaving demons?"

"I do whatever is necessary to protect my country. If you have a problem with it get behind a picket line and join the other protesters. I have no time to debate the pros and cons of harboring a demon."

"If something that powerful ever gets out of your control you're going to have a lot more bigger problems on your hand than a few angry protesters."
Xena would leave it at that. Telling from the woman responses and how she carried herself that there was little reason arguing about something like this. She'd stand by her decision no matter what the consequences of her actions were. The Warrior Princess could only hope it wouldn't be disastrous for her people. That Ashley would have to answer to. Xena was all too well experienced in that.
"Contrary to what you might be thinking now I didn't come up here just to talk about the demon. As you can probably already I'm not exactly from around here. What part of the world am I in and how far from here to Jappa?"

"I'm well aware of the risks involved."
Ashley raised an eyebrow when she heard the word Jappa. Unfamiliar with such a name although Ashley knew very little about the world outside of the marked areas on this continent aside from what she knew of Jherra through a wonderful invention called the Internet which allowed them to talk to users from Isafaro, Kari and Moon Valley. Other than that Ashley never stepped foot on Jherra and had no reason to.
"I'm afraid I am unfamiliar with any city called Jappa. You're currently on Elim. A large continent located on the northern hemisphere. A lot of it is still unexplored even to us. Jappa could be anywhere from here or it could very well be from a different world altogether. We have had several cases of foreigners from parallel universes come through here. Most of our technology are from such places. Without more information to work with I can't help you."

That wasn't good if Ashley thought Jappa was just a city. She heard the word Elim and was just as confused as Ashley was when she uttered the word Jappa. Northern hemisphere? Xena had traveled all over the world and has been too many places. She has never heard of a place like this before. Which could only mean one thing.
"Sounds like I'm another case."
Xena was brought back from the dead only to be dragged into a parallel universe. Just her luck.
"I don't suppose you know how I can get back?"

"Look outside the window. You'll see a colossal black tower in the distance. According to our intelligence the tower acts as a gateway to every world in existence but it would take centuries to learn how to use it. It is currently under the protection of the Kari military on Jherra. If you're feeling lucky my people can fly you out there as soon as possible."

Xena walked over to the window by Ashley's desk, her eyes spotting the tower up in the distance. Exactly as she said. It was impossible to miss from its sheer size and if it looked this big from this far away the Warrior Princess could only imagine how large it actually was. At the word fly being uttered the Warrior Princess looked back at Ashley with a confused expression on her face.
"Fly?"

“We have the capabilities to fly you through the air above ground and take you to the city where the tower resides,” Ashley explained. “Assuming you wish to go there and try your luck. I am a very busy woman so if I can get an answer from you now it'd be most appreciated.”
