deadonarrival2011.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=hallowton&thread=3153&page=1#22658Infected with the Waking Nightmare Sebastian is believed that the contract has been breached due to Integra's death and goes on a rampage, tearing down the mansion and unleashing a powerful plague that is capable of infecting even supernatural beings like Maricul and Count Dracula. The epidemic brings many together as friends and enemies alike try to learn more and develop a cure.
So far I think this thread has seen the most members join in since the Netherrealm battle at Jherrazad. We have Jedi and Sith working together, Lori tasking Iron Man with finding a cure, Bane cutting up one of his own men because science, Sir Integra punishing Sebastian, Legion making an appearance, Count Dracula yelling at his bitch to be quiet and even an actual player character's dying. This thread could easily be 3 threads in 1 assuming some of the posters decide to reply again. Discuss.

Most people think life sucks, and then you die. Not me. I beg to differ. I think life sucks, then you get cancer, then your dog dies, your wife leaves you, the cancer goes into remission, you get a new dog, you get remarried, you owe ten million dollars in medical bills but you work hard for thirty-five years and you pay it back and then -- one day -- you have a massive stroke, your whole right side is paralyzed, you have to limp along the streets and speak out of the left side of your mouth and drool but you go into rehabilitation and regain the power to walk and the power to talk and then -- one day -- you step off a curb at Sixty-seventh Street, and BANG you get hit by a city bus and then you die. Maybe.
And THAT is Hallowton...

Not sure where Dracula is going with his posts but I'm guessing he's wising up to Sebastian being the cause of the plague. Which is strange considering there are half a dozen different reasons why Integra would be punishing one of her subordinates in such a way.

My slave is trying my patience. I am Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing. Find the error. I will do my best to do so, Sir Integra. *bows slightly* On another note, I am quite surprised to see as many people as I have seen on this thread along with the views. It amazes me.

Trying your patience, My Lord? -chuckles in amusement- Only because you let it be so. You are allowing your stubbornness to rule your actions and thoughts, that is the sole cause of your irritation. It is also making your soul less tantalizing... What a waste. At least I am doing one thing which I hope you'll find to be the first of many redeeming aspects and actions... I am saving your newest tool's life and making her stronger, despite it being against my better judgment or own personal preferences. I'm sure you'll find her to be a useful pawn... -crawls back to a shadowy corner of plottage- Who would have thought so many people wanted to become sickly and weak from my Plague by joining this thread... -demonic grin-

And of course I thank you for granting me such beautiful wings and painful transitioning. *grins and unfurls wings to stretch them then pulls them back to lay flat across her back* I do believe this subplot should be coming to a close soon. But I wonder what Oblivion's intention is when feeding the young vampire boy?

This cure to the plague strikes me as a deus ex machina. Why have Tony, Bane or anyone else look into treatment for the plague if you were just going to present a cure to it from the beginning? The Plague is a successful subplot that could easily be a storyarc with people getting worse, dying, struggling to find treatment and improve the coup subplot with the enemy taking advantage of the situation. What makes it better is that it's entirely different from the same overused formula of plots of old which I assume is another factor into its popularity. It seems a shame to have it all wrap up after only two threads.

There's more to gain through sickness than an instant cure. There becomes a struggle of power and money to those who can afford the limited cure than those who cannot. Consider this plague similar to geostigma and run with it as a plot before you insta cure it for everyone. Harker can work long term on a cure along with several other people failed cures can cause fun things such as mutations and more plots.
