Physical Appearance:
Aran is tall for a woman, standing at 6 feet and 5 inches. She weighs in at 187 pounds, and is well-built and muscular, a sign of her constant physical activity. Some of her bones are hollow though, which makes it able for her to fly. She's a heterochromatic, possessing one cyan eye and one violet one, and her hair, a silver color, usually falls beyond her waist if it isn't tied up. Even though she's an attractive young woman, her broad shoulders and long gets can often get mistaken for a man, especially considering she sometimes wears clothing that makes it harder for someone to figure out what gender she is. Her wings, an extremely light gray, are usually tucked behind her back, to the point where someone doesn't notice them upon first seeing her.
When on the job, Aran wears black dress pants, a black cashmere sleeveless turtleneck, fingerless gloves, black heeled boots, and a white trench-coat that goes down to her feet. To complete the image, she often wears a pair of sunglasses which can increase in opacity if it gets dark. These glasses can also project data like a hologram for Aran to read. But Aran can also instantly summon her battle armor, which is from when she was the High General. But most of the time, she wears normal clothing.
Personality:
Upon first meeting Aran, one would wonder if she is truly sane and doesn't posses some form of ADHD or ADD. She's friendly to the point where it is almost frightening, often considering someone a friend after a few minutes of conversation. Her exuberance often annoys those that are less enthusiastic than her, which for the most part, is everyone. Random and seemingly irresponsible, she'll often appear to ignore or not pay attention to important instructions others give her, showing no consideration for conventional rules. Her attention span also seems to be very short, as she'll easily look track of things or get distracted. But her positive attitude is endearing to many, so she makes fast friends.
Despite the fact she may seem to be a clumsy yet pleasant airhead, Aran is actually cunning and intelligent. She always makes careful observations of the people around her and the events she witnesses, and she's a brilliant tactician. Even though she'll more than often avoid a fight, she isn't scared to intervene in an situation and get her hands dirty. Her age and experiences give her a wisdom that most don't have, and she will not hesitate to help others make tough choices. She isn't selfish in the slightest, and will by ready to sacrifice anything in order to keep those she cares about safe. Her compassion can lead to her getting into large amounts of trouble, as she'll never abandon a person in need.
While she is hard to annoy and extremely hard to anger, once Aran is pushed over the edge, she snaps and her Alpha Stigma condition takes over. In this crazed state, she's a completely different person, having only one purpose: destroying everything in front of her. Often you will hear her say “I bring forth nothing. I bless nothing. I save nothing. I just erase.“ or something along the lines of that while she proceeds to destroy all in her path.
Special Abilities: As a celestial, Aran naturally possesses superhuman strength, speed, reflexes, endurance, and regeneration, as well as the ability to use magic and the arcane. Other than that, she also possess the following:
E.S.P.Innate capability: ability to naturally have skills and/or knowledge typically earned through learning. As a side-note, her brain works much faster than a human's, so if she does have to learn something, she'll learn it a lot faster than a normal person.
Omni-linguism: ability to understand any language, natural polyglot
Out-of-body Experience: Aran's "soul" is able to leave her body, allowing her to travel about in a "ghost" form.
Empathy: ability to sense other's emotions and feelings
Mediumship: ability to see and communicate with the dead
Power Sensing: ability to detect and identify people's species and powers.
Physics or Reality ManipulationDarkness or shadow manipulation: ability to create and manipulate darkness
Energy Manipulation: ability to form energy in various forms, such as blasts or beams
Immortality: As an employee of the Titan of the Void, Khaos, Aran posses immortality to a point. She can "die" several times over, only to regenerate her wounds and "rise" from the dead. The reason for this is the fact that for her to fully "die" her soul must be removed from her body and destroyed, as her body will always regenerate.
Light manipulation: ability to create and manipulate light particles
Rift Manipulation: ability to create openings in reality into different dimensions. While she often uses as transportation through dimensions (and even in the same one), she is also able to create openings into the Void (as explained in Doctor Who), or the nothingness that exists between realities. This ability often allows her to bring things from other realities into the one she is currently in.
Telekensis: ability to move objects with one's mind.
Alpha StigmaAran possess the ability of an Alpha Stigma (from the anime series Legend of the Legendary Heroes, yes, that's what it's called), a unique trait that allows her to memorize and copy anyone's magic as long as soon as she's seen it in action. While this is extremely useful, being an Alpha Stigma comes with a price. If pushed emotionally or psychically, she would snap and her powers would take over. Once she has snapped, she is no longer to see the difference between friend or foe, and will destroy all in her path until she is stopped using high-levels of magic to literally disassemble people at a molecular level. During this “form,” her wings turn black and a new pair emerges, her eyes glow red, and her hands and eyes have an arcane pentagram on them. She is able to revert back to her normal self once her eyes shut or she manages to stop herself. Because of this condition, she puts extreme amounts of effort to keep herself calm, and has only snapped like this a few times, usually over the death of a loved one.
Weapons: Aran possess a variety of weapons (most of which she does not always have on her person), including the following:
From Left to Right:
σκοτάδι (Skotádi): Holy Sword of Darkness. Generates shadows at will. Taken from Ἔρεβος.
मौत चाकू (Mauta Cākū): Modified blade of a Death God. Can removes souls from someone's body without harming the body and the soul (or destroy one and keep the other) Taken from a Death God.
дэман (Deman): Blade taken from Zelphym, former Chancilor of the Demonic Council. Can open portals of darkness and transform into a whip
ಫೈರ್ ಬರ್ಡ್(Phair Bard): Soul of a fire elemental smithed into a blade by a dwarf. Generates fire at will.
ljós: Celestial blade forged from Titansteel. Generates light from will. Handed down through the Vrklyian family.
She also possesses a Barrett M107A1 .50 cal rifle, a custom SPR-15AQ, two customSpec Ops 9s, a pair of butterfly knives, wrist blades, and, for when things get tough, the M-920 Cain, also known as the Nuke Launcher.
History:
Aran was born as Aquarion Nox Vrklyian in the Astral Plane, to Kilnara and Zaemon. She and her older brother, Felor, were of considerable standing, seeing as their mother was the Astral Judge in the Celestial Council (highest ranking member of the Judges, which serve to lead the Council), and their father was the Lunar General in the Celestial Army (one of the highest ranking members of the Army that serves directly under the High General). Wanting to follow in their parent's footsteps, the two children aspired to reach great heights and a young age, and quickly set themselves in the right direction. Aquarion, the stronger of the siblings, spend her youth practicing combat techniques and learning battle strategies in order to become the next High General. Her brother, the more intelligent and witty, used his days in the library, learning of history and politics in order to serve the Council as a Judge himself. Aquarion also grew up with two other people in her life: Mina Letoria, a childhood friend who was extremely hyper and cheerful, unlike the serious, mature Aquarion, and Sahareh Mernovia, the son of the Nova General (a dear friend of her father) and a chief “rival,” whom held bitter resentment against Aquarion at a young age after a battle between the two with Aquarion's unstable powers resulted in her scarring him. But despite her somewhat quiet demeanor, Aquarion lived happily with her parents and her brother, forming a small but close family.
When Aquarion was merely a rookie in the army, while her brother was already an accomplished Counciler (not yet a Judge), an incident occurred. For training, each company was taken out platoon at a time and put through a regular milk run under the supervision of one of the four Planar Generals (Astral, Lunar, Nova, and Solar General), which was typical for soldiers. Her platoon was taken out by the Lunar General, or her father, and were on their way back to base when they ran into a pack of dire wolves. While the creatures were usually easy to deal with, these ones were extremely powerful, and tore through the ranks. Zaemon, her father, managed to hold the creatures off and commanded the survivors to flee, who were led off by Aquarion. After making sure they were all safe, the celestial returned to her father's side to find that he had managed to deal with the pack, but had sustained injures. Just as the two were about to head back to their site and formally report the incident, her father was impaled by what seemed to be a spike made out of darkness. Only managing to choke out a few words, Zaemon was then decapitated and his body was devoured by another dire wolf, which appeared to be the alpha. Enraged, Aquarion attacked and killed the creature, but not without getting severely injured in the process due to her own inexperience. Bleeding profusely, she believed her demise to be at hand when she encountered Mel.
Mel is the Entity of Malice and Chaos, a physical manifestation of sentient emotion and intention with just as much power as a god. Amused with her desperate, enraged carnage, he revealed himself to be the murderer of her father and the source of the dire wolves, and explained that his sister, Cris the Entity of Compassion and Mercy, had given her a “gift” at her birth, and he wanted to make things “even” between the two siblings. So instead of ending Aquarion's live right then and there, he imbued her with the powers of the Alpha Stigma, and left, leaving her broken and bleeding with only the bloody head of her father. Still enraged, she snapped into her Alpha Stigma form and laid waste to the area before collapsing due to lack of blood, exhaustion, and trauma. When a patrol found her, she was alone in a massive crater, clutching the head of her father.
Still recovering from the incident, Aquarion continued her milliary career, more determined than ever to make a name for herself in the army. Along the way, she made friends with a Lyndris Artin, another celestial who disliked Sahareh for his blatant jealousy of Aquarion's superior skills inn battle. With support from her mother, brother, and two friends, she managed to make it all the way to Brigadier General (the rank below the Planar Generals) and was completing successful military campaigns when another tragedy struck. While her battalion was out defending Celestial borders, several assassins sneaked into the Council and made an attempt to kill several of the Judges. Most the Councilmen were not trained in combat, and the guards had been dispatched already. Help came in the form of Aquarion's brother, Felor, who had trained with his sister on several occasions, and managed to hold off the assassins while the Council was evacuated and reinforcements arrived. The Astral Judge (who had not been on duty at the time) arrived just in time to see her son get murdered killed by one of the assassins, and promptly tore the remaining assassins to shreds. By the time this news reached Aquarion, there was nothing she could do but return home to a funeral and one less member in the family.
After years in the milliary, Aquarion finally reached the position of High General of the Celestial Army, becoming widely known as a brilliant tactician and master swordsman. With Lyndris, Mina, and Sahareh taking three of the slots for the Planar Generals, she was near unstoppable. Her campaigns almost always ended with success, and if they did fail, the causalities were always minimized. For a long period of time, enemies of the Celestials feared her, and her name was known by all.
It was during this time that a general of the demon army, Ezraldelus Deckett, launched a campaign to gain some Celestial territory. His attacks were brilliant and vicious, and he managed to gain a sizable portion of Celestial territory before the Council decided to put the High General directly in charge of regaining the lost land. While he was good at his job, the demon lacked experience, and Aquarion completely humiliated him and his army. During the final battle between the two opposing sides, Deckett managed to kill Mina, the Nova General. Enraged, Aquarion snapped and decimated his army using the powers of the Alpha Stigma, and several wounded Deckett himself. Just as she was about to deliver the finishing blow, she reverted back to normal as she realized something had been revealed during their battle: Ezraldelus Deckett was a half-demon, a bastard child looked down on by humans and demons alike. His identity had been hidden by a charm, but that charm had been broken during the battle. So out of spite, she let the injured man live so that his comrades would find him and take him away to be trampled upon by the demon society as a whole, as a way of getting revenge for the death of Mina.
More years passed, and as the emotional wound of her friend's death healed, Aquarion began to have some doubts on her malicious actions towards the half-demon general Deckett, especially when spies reported his fate. Her guilt ate at her like a mad beast until she finally came across a way to ease that guilt. While looking over the aftermath of a battle, Aquarion stumbled across a small, half-demon child, who had obviously been abused by his so-called “caretakers.” The green-haired boy was weak, and as an act of compassion, and a need to redeem herself for her earlier actions, she took the boy away from the carnage of battle and hid him away, as she knew he had no home to go to. This was a serious act, as Celestials were notorious for being xenophobic, and permitted no one other than their own kind from living on their territory, often keeping to themselves. She raised this boy, who was named Rai, like one would take care of a younger sibling, and the two quickly became attached to one another.
It was actually Sahareh, her Solar General, who reported Rai's presence to the authorities. It was an action taken out of spite, as he had fancied Aquarion for many years, yet she never seemed to notice his feelings. He believed that the boy would be taken, and he would have the opportunity to comfort a distressed Aquarion and gain a way into her heart. However, not only did Aquarion refuse to hand over the half-demon child, she reacted violently when the authorities attempted to use force, only stopping her rampage when ordered to by the Celestial Council. After a short, yet major trial, the Judges of the Celestial Council (her mother included), condemned Aquarion to a life of exile, stripping her of her name, titles, rank, and honor before sealing her power and sending her away. But as an act of mercy and respect for her work as High General, they spared the life of Rai, allowing her to leave with him.
No longer “Aquarion,” the celestial left the Astral Plane with Rai and arrived in the human world, lost in a large forest in a land neither of them knew. It was a stroke of fortune that the first people the two stumbled across were a group of orphans who lived in a church, hidden away from society with only a small path leading it to and from a town a few miles away. These orphans were used to being rejected from society, and quickly took the pair to their caretaker, an old woman merely known as Grandma Sophie. Despite the fact that the little orphanage had next to nothing, they welcomed the two with open arms, and even gave the fallen celestial the name she uses today: Aran Andreas Niomii.
Aran and Rai spent several years with the orphanage, living in a tucked away corner of nowhere. Despite the fact that Aran was horribly shaken from being detached from anything and everything she knew and loved, she quickly got attached to the children of the orphanage and found some small bit of happiness in living with them.
However, that wasn't to last. While Aran was out hunting for a deer for dinner, the small orphanage was attacked by a band of bandits and thieves. When she noticed the smoke billowing out from the direction the building they called home was in, she knew what had happened. Running back, she was too late, as the mangles corpses of the children lay scattered about the area. Those who had been inside the church had been locked inside while the building was set alight, burned alive while trapped and helpless. The celestial wasn't even given time to mourn their deaths and was still in shock when the bandits found her. Seeing her alive, they came to the conclusion that they could have some “fun” before they killed her like the others, but the moment one of them put his hand on her shoulder, the Alpha Stigma took over and Aran slaughtered the lot of them, breaking the seal that prevented her from using her powers. Still enraged, she proceeded to destroy all in her path, including several villages. Hundreds of innocent lives perished at her hand before Aran finally managed to calm down, and when she did, she was horrified with her own actions. Vowing to help people to atone for her actions, she buried what was left of the dead and became a wanderer, drifting in and out of history for a few thousand years.
During WWIV, Aran was on the front lines with her best friend and comrade, a shapeshifter known as Abeo, when the two disappeared. When Aran came to, she found herself in a strange world with no way to get out. To reduce the amount of trouble she got, the celestial cross-dressed as man, which greatly dropped the amount of bar fights she got into. After wandering for a few years, she discovered that the world, called Reunir, was originally designed as a haven for inter-dimensional travelers, but had turned into a one-way trip. When someone arrived, they were sorted into one of two sides, Elthra or Ceiliean, and could only get back home if they killed everyone on the opposing side. Discovering she was an Elthran (as she had a phoenix tattoo instead of a dragon), she wandered into the capital of Elthra and suddenly found herself being called “King” by the locals. Upon investigating, she discovered that the “King” was in fact Abeo, who had been in Reunir longer than Aran, and altered its form to mimic that of Aran, cross-dressing as a guy. The reason for that is because Abeo discovered it was dying from a chronic illness, and it needed someone to take its place as King. So without even having a say in the matter, Aran suddenly found herself King of Elthra, despite being a woman.
Her times in Reunir were hectic, and the more she discovered about the world she was in, the more dangerous it got. It was during this time that Ezraldelus Deckett came into her life once again, but instead of being an enemy, he was an ally, and he didn't even recognize her. Making him one of her generals, partly out of knowledge of his talent, partly out of guilt for what horrors he went through, Aran found herself slowly getting attached to the half-demon, much to his annoyance. She also discovered that her friend Rai, whom she thought was dead, was in fact alive, and had no memory of her. He had been trapped between realities for what seemed like moments but had actually been a few thousands years before being thrown into Reunir when he stumbled into a hole in reality while fleeing from the attack on the orphanage. When he regained his memory, the two were reunited once more as dear friends. But more importantly, she discovered that a race called the Titans, or Worldshapers, were responsible for what happened to Reunir. The Titan of Darkness, Ἔρεβος (Erebus), had changed Reunir out of spite and sought to expand the underworld onto it, but was undermined by Ἀνάγκη (Anake), Titan of Fate, who found herself being ignored by the worlds she helped create and was tired to being forgotten. She herself attempted to destory Reunir in order to get to the power source that allowed it to exist outside of the universes, but was stopped by both Elthra and Ceiliean, and eventually the mother of all the Titans, χάος (Khaos), Titan of the Void. She then returned everyone to their own respective reality, Aran included.
Evetually, Aran and Deck (Deckett) got married and had two children, Jerico and Tæria. Aran also reunited with her mother when she decided to screw the rules and return back to the Astral Plane for a bit, along with Rai (who is the godfather of Aran's two children). Aran's current job is actually a servant of χάος, who, like any mother, is extremely busy dealing with her kids and her own job. As an employee of the Titan of Void, her main job is reporting anything weird going on involving realities dealing with one another. So, when the Downward Spirals started appearing in all realities, it was only natural that she got to work, and is currently in Genesis investigating the reason for the incident, residing in a house in Moon Valley.
