Abel was genetically engineered, and posses superhuman abilities even in his normal state. His speed, strength, reflexes, and regenerative abilities are beyond that of a normal human.
Kreznik nanomachines:
Abel is infused with nanomachines which he can utilize to go into “Kreznik” mode. As a Kreznik, he feeds off the blood of the Methuselah, also known as vampires. The more blood he feeds on, the more power he can use. The Kreznik nanomachines keep Abel alive; without them, he’s dead, but with them, he can recover (albeit slowly) from nearly any kind of injury he receives. However, the nanomachines are not all good; as he increases his power output, he looses control of himself to the point where he goes on rampages in a mad feeding frenzy.
[Power Output 40%] At this output, Abel’s hair appears to defy gravity, his eyes go red, his lips blue, and he grows claws and fangs. His speed, strength, and regenerative abilities are increased compared to his human form, and he also possesses the ability to form his blood into a scythe.
[Power Output 80%] This output contains all the same qualities as the 40% output, but all increased, most notably his regeneration. While before he could heal stab wounds with ease, he can now regenerate entire portions of his body including vital organs (such as the heart) almost instantly as well. He also boasts a pair of black wings and the ability to generate enormous amounts of bio-electricity that he can unleash at will.
[Power Output 100%] At 100% output, Abel looks less human and more like a dark, gray-skinned humanoid with a pair of enormous, bat-like wings and blue markings all over his body. Not much is known of his powers at this level save for the fact that his scythe is seen double-bladed and his electricity generation is much greater than that of 80% output.
Weapons:
Most of the time, Abel uses a large revolver loaded with silver bullets. When in his Kreznik form, he utilizes his blood scythe and electricity generation.
History:
Abel Nightroad was engineered and created during the 21st century on Mars as a part of the Kresnik project along side four others: Seth, Lilith, and Cain. While the original purpose of this project is unknown, what is known is that Abel grew up from a young had holding a deep resentment against humanity. This resentment against humanity turned into outrage due to an unexplained betrayal, and alongside Seth and Cain, he and the Mars colonists, now called Methuselah (or vampries) due to a mutation caused by a Mars-native pathogen called the Bacillus virus, waged war against humanity.
While the details of this war are mostly lost, it is known by some that Abel single-handedly killed seven million humans. Sometime during the war, Abel's brother, Cain, was forced to fully merge with the nanomachines at 100% output. When this happened, he was driven insane, and in his insanity, he killed Lilith, who was Abel's love. Abel and Seth forced Cain into the airlock of their spaceship and sent him hurtling toward the Earth, and Abel, devastated, mourned Lilith's death for over 900 years.
Abel was found by the young Caterina Sforza, who had fled to Lilith's tomb to escape Methuselah assassins. By this time, Abel had promised to take up Lilith's duty of protecting humans, and since then, he has remained at Caterina's side. When Arcanum Cella Ex Dono Dei (Papal State Affairs Special Operations Section, or AX for short) was founded, he joined, serving under Cardinal Caterina and completing various tasks to ensure the safety of humanity as well as the Methuselah. When he discovered that Cain still lived, Abel vowed to destroy his brother and the Rosenkreuz Orden, Cain's group of terrorists that are bent on destroying the world as Abel once attempted to do.
