So, I got to wondering randomly the other day, if it ever happened (clearly it can't now sadly), who would win in a fight between Maricul and Amoura? Just to clarify I'm talking about Old Mari and Domino City's Amoura. For a point of reference here's a list of each character's abilities. MariculAmouralol @ how Tori reviewed his own bio.

Tough one. I'd imagine the battle would be even for the most part until the Waking Nightmare was used.

Nobody wins. There's enough power between the two to wreck the space-time continuum. This must never happen!

Except... The Witch Within would see right through it. Amoura used the Waking Nightmare on Maricul before and it worked. Except in that instance Maricul was appearing in Amoura's dream and was still weak from the aftermath of the Aircano's battle. The situation would be different if both were fighting each other awake and at 100%

Both those applications are kinda dated, so I wouldn't base my entire decision on just the list there. I don't even remember the bit about the Witch Within seeing pass illusions. That's gonna come in handy later though.

Seeing that the current version of Maricul can manipulate reality like Veran could I have to give her the edge in a confrontation.

Too close to call. It'd eventually come down to who could be the most creative.

Tough one.
Amoura had more arguably more raw power at her fingertips, however Maricul was always more willing to use hers in a battle. Don't forget that part of Amoura's character is that she hated her father so much she barely tapped into her demonic power. That's why she's always seen using her vampire set of abilities in conjuncture with the waking nightmare rather than the power of Mundus.
Maricul even used the Witch Within against Ranka, and he was pretty much powerless against it in spite of the fact that she used it as a method of escape. And Maya gave a lot of trouble to the defenders of Hallowtown on account of it's potency.
I'd say Maricul until the point where Amoura reaches the same point of desperation as she did against Validus... and blew up a planet.

From what I understand of the two you could write a novel based on them going to war with one another. Their meeting, their first fight, Amoura learning more of Maricul's past, Maricul seducing her loved ones and turning them against her, the consequences that would spiral from that. Definitely isn't something that could have ever been settled in just one fight.

Maricul would find a way to see through the Nightmare since she had encountered it before, and since Amoura used it often, she'd see it coming. It was her signature move to, as Gui put it, avoid using the power Mundus bestowed upon her. I'm not even sure how a fight between those two would go. Maricul would definitely push her to unleash her raw power, and the fight would have been a novel. Let's not solve the mystery. I like the universe being in one piece.
