Prologue
The Red and Blue halfblooded demons step past one another. The red one slices cleanly through the side of the blue devil who turns holding his side and slowly falls off the top of the tower. The red demon reaches out for him but is sliced across the palm as the blue demon falls into the blackness. The blue demon began to stand as he notices the three orbs watching him. He stands completely and draws his sword from its sheath, “If my father did it, I should be able to do it too…”
Introducing The Bandage Man
Gilver was sitting at the bar of a ran down old tavern. The walls were old and peeling, the floors creaked under every foot step, the tables were old and stained, the door hung off its frame, even the lights flickered from time to time. The noticeable thing about this room currently was all of the bodies lying around. Some were on tables, others across the floor, the bartender was in a sitting position with the top half of his head missing. Blood was thick across the ground and stained the walls.
This wasn’t the doing of the bandage man, it was done by the halfblooded demon Vergil. The demons began to show themselves as the corpses came back to life. Each of them stood aside from the bartender whose body wouldn’t allow a spirit to take control of what was mindless. Gilver stood up and pushed his chair back with his foot. He picked up his wine glass of Chardonnay and his sheathed katana from leaning on the bar. He turned around and counted about thirty heads each with glowing red eyes of the demons that possessed them.
He took a drink from his glass, "Well. If you want revenge for your fallen king,” he beckoned them forward with his katana, “come and get it.”
The first demon lunged forward the hands of the human ripped apart the bones becoming claws. Gilver stepped forward and then rotated droving the sheath of his weapon into the side of the demons body causing it to slam into the wall to his left. The next demon came forward and Gilver took a drink from his Chardonnay. At the same time the demon was about to land his attack Gilver delivered a hard up kick to the jaw of the demon sending him through the roof.
“Foolishness.”
He consumed the last bit of Chardonnay as the next demon came at him. Gilver slammed the glass into the side of its head and pushed it forward with his shoulder. Another step forward and he pulled his sword free, another step later the demon was split in half; each step was a blurred movement. Gilver had sheathed his sword again and turned around from the demons taking a couple steps forward before turning completely around again when all the demons began advancing forward. He crouched low and began unsheathing and sheathing his blade so rapidly it was only a blue blur of his suit jacket.
The last attack left his sword behind him as if he had just cut through a foe; all of the demons were pinned against the wall by some kind of power that was radiating off the man’s sword all the way down from his hand. Gilver stood and turned his blade slowly sheathing it, as he fully sheathed the sword all the demons exploded leaving the entire wall open to the streets outside. There were only two demons left, the one stuck in the ceiling, and the other one he had punted across the room during his first attack.
Gilver looked over to the cowering demon, the look in his eye sent a shiver up the demons spine, “Tell the Son of Sparda that I’m coming for him.”
Mallet Island
The rumors had come and gone that Mallet Island was the base for the source of Vergils power. Rumor had it that a demon gate resided on the island and that a cult of demons was attempting to revive their demon king, Mundus. Gilver arrived to the island shortly after hearing the rumors. When he stepped foot on the island he instantly felt the strong demonic presence. Gilver made his way toward the castle and pushed through the main door to the entrance hall. He was introduced face to face with a large statue in the middle of the room of a three eyed angel. Gilver looked around and entered one of the doors on the main floor.
At once he was met by the demons that resided there. They took the form of Marionettes but horribly disfigured. Gilver never drew his blade a single time while facing such insulting demons. He destroyed each one with just the sheath of his weapon before moving on. Before long he was met with battle against one of the castles demon cult members. Its name was Phantom; it was a massive magma spider demon. Gilver smirked at the demon. He put his hand on his sword before kneeling low facing the behemoth.
“You will not get past me, I can smell your inferior blood, I will crush you and devour your bones,” the demon called to Gilver who simply remained in his position with his hand on the back of his sword.
“My sincerest apology, I will not give you a chance to do any of that,” said Gilver in a taunting tone of voice. His eyes glared toward the demonic being cutting straight through its very heart. Even to a demon of its caliber it felt an unknown fear trickle up its spine. This half breed wasn’t normal to have such a smug attitude.
Phantom stomped and a pillar of fire engulfed where Gilver was once moment, the next moment he was ten feet to the left three feet closer to Phantom. Gilver remained in the same pose with the same posture for the moment then burst forward with incredible speed. The spider launched a massive fireball for Gilver who teleported straight through it to the other side unharmed. When in range he dropped to a knee and slid the next five feet and drew his blade catching the entire underbelly of the Phantom. When he finished his slide on the other side of the demon he was standing and sheathing his blade.
“My regards to the demon king,” Gilver said as Phantom began collapsing in on itself melting away into the pavement.
Gilver continued to encounter lesser demons such as the Marionette over the course of his ventures through the castle. Eventually he made his way to the Garden where he was met by a large flying beast. It was massive in size, look similar to a scaled monstrosity more than a bird, it was the Griffon.
“Leave this place,” said an echoing voice across the courtyard. Gilver paid it no mind and continued walking across the Garden, “Leave this place at once!”
It was in Gilvers best interest to continue ignoring the demon until it was provoked into attacking him. Soon it was diving down at him where it slammed into the ground where he once stood. Gilver had reappeared above the demon and drove his blade straight down at it as it began to lift off again. He felt his blade cut through the demon as he hit the ground however the demon was back in the air again. He lowered himself and rapidly began sheathing and unsheathing his blade sending aura like slashes and thrusting blade attacks directly for the demon until it plummeted to the ground.
Once it hit the ground he burst forward at full speed jumping straight at the demon and drove his blade through its exposed heart. He pulled it free and began slashing at the open hold in its chest for added effect until the demon ceased to move and began to fade away in a bright red light. Gilver continued on forward. The demon veil become thicker the deeper into the castle he ventured.
It was here he encountered the blond haired woman who ran from him at first. He followed behind her quickly but she went missing as soon as he turned the corner. He abandoned the search for her entirely at this point. Anyone alive on this island would be dead soon enough. However, he had gotten himself lost following her and would eventually run into her again she was limping away from a couple of Marionettes and into the castle again. He followed behind her.
Once he entered the castle the demon world pulled him back into the cathedral where he faced Phantom. Now the area was covered in the darkness of the demonic energy from the mass of power simply known as Nightmare. He laid his eyes on the woman, she was Trish, “How repulsive,” was the only thing that escaped Gilvers lips before he began the battle by sending a wave of energy at the woman. This attack woke the Nightmare which began moving at him and fired a beam of energy at him.
Gilver easily dodged it and ran directly at the demon which consumed him straight into its body. He landed on his feet facing Phantom yet again.
“Again…”
Gilver moved forward and Phantom’s tail slammed into the ground but missed the half breed as he rolled to the side. He continued moving forward slicing the tail before landing directly in front of Phantoms face. He unleashed a thousand attacks before the demon could gather the power to launch its fireball, the reality around him shattered and he was back in the Cathedral. Lightning hit the ground in front of him the woman held the Alastor sword. He moved away from Nightmare and launched himself into the air with a teleport.
Once above both foes he shattered the window above them and as he fell he released one of his power attacks at the main cathedral window shattering it. Light flooded the room and the Nightmare melted to the ground. When Gilver landed in the middle of it he slammed his sword directly into its center sending a ripple of blue energy through the area killing the Nightmare. All that was left was Trish. Gilver stood and turned his blade sheathing it.
“You do not deserve that face. It is not yours,” Gilver said straightening up and wiping his suit with his right bandaged hand, “I plan to remove it from existence, yet again.”
Trish sent lightning through the entire room causing Gilver to dodge behind one of the pillars. He waited for the slightest opening before rolling back out into the middle of the room and sending a single thrust of energy at her which caused her to hit the ground. The two of them met full center clashing blades together several times in what seemed to be a very evenly matched fight. However, Gilver clashed with her one time reflecting her attack away before stepping straight through her spraying the area with her blood. He flung the blood off his blade and began sheathing his sword.
Once fully sheathed she fell to the ground, “Never show your face to me again.”
Mundus
There was only one thing left for him here the massive amount of demonic energies in the central room. Once there he was instantly dragged into the underworld. The very barrier between Hell and the Mortal realm had been opened, the Demon King Mundus pulled himself free of his restraints, the very statue that once stood in the middle of the room was indeed the King where he was bound in defeat. Gilver lowered himself into his fighting stance looking at the Demon King.
“It would be fun to fight with the Prince of Darkness,” Gilver charged directly at Mundus who released his full power sending beams of energy toward him from the third eye on his head. Gilver however teleported out of the way and unleashed his true power as well entering his devil trigger appearing as an armored knight, his katana became larger and more powerful. Gilver jumped gliding through the air at the massive demon sliding his blade across its chest leaving a large scar in its surface.
Mundus reaches out grabbing at Gilver but clutches nothing but air as Gilver teleports from his grasp unleashing the full power of his Judgment upon the demon king sliding his blade down its back and exposing every aspect of his power causing an explosion where Mundus changes form into his true form. The grotesque being before him fired a black ball of energy and the sky began to rain down fire. Gilver wasn’t given much room to dodge here. One wrong move and he would end up being hit by a meteorite or by Mundus himself.
However, Gilver wasn’t done yet. He released all of his power and slashed the demon across the face releasing the energy as he did a final judgment for a King. The power behind the attack exploded leaving behind a charred surface of ground and Gilver was thrown back into the mortal world. The entire castle was falling apart Gilver turned to the door and ran through it, the demon portal didn’t take him to Mallet Island however, on the other side he burst through a wooden door into the streets of Kari.
“What is this!? Another trick? Mundus! Show yourself!”
