Name: Project 487
Aliases: project Knight, Knight, 487
Age: N/A (Looks 16)
Gender: Male
Species: Artificial Intelligence
Alignment: True Neutral
Canon or Original: Original
Date of Birth: Unknown
Place of Birth: Unknown
Physical Appearance:
Project 487 (A.K.A Knight) takes the appearance of a young man, though his body is noticeably artificial, once up close. Wearing a long white coat with a hood, he is often mistaken for a human, though this is often soon betrayed by the lack of consistency with his responses to longer, more drawn out sentences. He does, however, deconstruct the vocabulary in a bid to give more accurate responses. His lifeless orange eyes give a hint of longing; his desperation to have a soul. His skin is soft to a point; the metal constructing his body evident if once pushes too far. His hair is actually one of the least artificial things about the young boy, since real DNA emulation was used as part of his programing; but since the hair is still made from a soft metallic mineral that emulates hair, it is a steely silver.
Seeming monotone compared to the world around him, his lack of expression on an otherwise handsome face tends to un-nerve those around, and this same lack of emotion or compassion in his voice leads him to often upset those around him.
Special Abilities:
Self Repair: In times of trouble, the metallic particles in the air around can be used to immediately repair minor to moderate amounts of damage, and is always in effect. Using a special magnet to attract the metals needed, it can also repair it's weapons should the need arise.
The reconstruction process is relatively quick.
Dual Wielding Master: A master at wielding the dangerous katanas he carries, he can often pull off seemingly impossible blocks and parries. His lack of fear also aids him, as well as mechanized reflexes. His attacks can also be strange at first, but attacks rarely vary from powerful kicks and lightning-quick slashes and lunges with one or both blades.
Medicine Bay: As an android, Knight is able to construct medicines for almost any humanoid after analyzing what is needed. His diagnosis is incredibly accurate, and he can even administer rather powerful drugs. As a machine, however, he does tend to give these drugs to anyone who asks. Often a password can be set to prevent over-use and abuse.
Instant Analysis: Using scanners situated all over his body, he is not only aware of everything around him, he can also reveal and calculate physical aspects; right down to what type of bread left the crumb in a pirates beard. This ability is also in effect, and is mostly used in risk assessment; but it can also be used as a means to detect lying and hidden weapons, as well as any illicit drugs or alcohols on any given person.
EMP Guard: An extra layer of non-conductive metal has been placed around essential parts of the android, such as the CPU, which acts as both heart and brain, and the Main Vocalization Unit, which enables the android to hear and analyse what is said, and to respond in a fashion that is not completely out of sync.
However, this plating does not extend to other functions, and so limbs are vulnerable to such anti-machine attacks.
Anti Negation: Since all the aspects of the Project 487 are not supernatural, but purely mechanical, almost all ability negation, from supernatural to unholy, is useless against this powerful artificial intelligence.
Artificial Emotions: The artificial intelligence of Knight can lead to actual emotions being "felt" by the brain. While this is an optional feature that is easily negated, the feelings felt by the android are the best emulation of human emotions that is currently plausible. While the emotions are not perfect, and most often are only noticeable when Knight states he is feeling as such, occasionally the robot will smile, or even cry; though only in more serious circumstances.
Weapons:
Two large, long bladed katanas, both identical and simple in design, though the blade seems to shine with an unknown radiance. The grips of these blades are not only longer than normal, but curved inward to aid in gripping and handling the weapon.
These weapons are by no means unbreakable or special, except the light, powerful alloy they are made from, unknown even to Project 487.
It can only be assumed that they were made from the same fallen meteorite, and that they were crafted by an unknown master blacksmith; no markings on the weapons, or even the hilt suggesting a maker.
Techno-Whisper: Being a computer, Project 487 can not only directly link up to any technology featuring a circuit board using a special cable, his incredible ability to adapt to changing environments as humans do enables him to counter any virus, malware or spyware infesting the system, and ultimately track and destroy the host computer. Finding these glitches personally insulting to his "fellow computers", he nonetheless knows enough to create super-viruses and colossal trojan horses; effectively destroying and ripping apart technology pitted against him.
History:
Project 487 had conscientiousness before he even had a body; originally a program on a computer designed to emulate and calculate human responses to certain phrases. However, the program was stolen by a hacker, and became Project Knight after serious modification and renovation of his core codes. Given the name "Knight" after saving the hacker from authorities, the hacker went to a factory, and asked the A.I. to make itself a body; something Knight did readily in order to emulate a human.
He did have one flaw, however; he did not age, and so his co-creator died not long after. Feeling enough to cry at his funeral, the hacker that had acted as Knights father felt relieved in his last breath, believing that he had coded enough 'humanity' into his android for Project 487 to socialise freely with other humans and learn from them.
Set upon the world, Knight's manufactured body did blend in, but a strange purple light swallowed Knight before he even realised it; and brought him to Jherra, and Genesis.
Still studying and trying to be as human as possible, re-writing certain codes and adding his own sub-rules for his programming when he encountered something new or a variant of something he did know. Now wandering, talking to even vile bandits and speech capable monsters, he does his best to adapt and become human; though he knows he is just an artificial copy of a human being.
Personality:
Naive, and seemingly unimpressed with the world, his eyes seem to reflect a longing for something; the orange tint uncommon to most. He does his best to change his personality to fit people, seeing adaptability as something humans are. Doing his best to emulate this, he often mimics those he meets or sees, both in mannerisms, and in conversation itself.
Since he lacks experience with people, he tends to change topic suddenly if he cannot understand someone, or attempts to clarify or ask for an alternate wording of the sentence.
This tends to lead to quite a few problems, specifically with slang and metaphors, since he barely understands either just yet.
He finds it difficult talking to more than one person at this time, as he tried to mimic them both, and may contradict himself quite a bit.
Since he still tries to fix these "glitches", he often finds himself in trouble.
