History: Born Hanzo Hasashi, ninja assassin for the Shirai Ryu codename Scorpion, Scorpion served his clan honorably in spite of his father's wishes while providing a comfortable life for his family. Until the day his family and clan were destroyed by the Lin Kuei and he himself was killed by their top assassin Sub-Zero. Scorpion would later be reborn in the Netherealm by sorcerer and ruler Quan Chi. He was given the chance to avenge his family and clan and allied himself with the sorcerer as a wraith.
Scorpion would be brought back to Genesis with Quan Chi at his side during the previous Trials of Fate where his killer Sub-Zero were one of many Genesis warriors being considered for godhood by the Creator. To remove his candidacy completely and claim his vengeance, Scorpion challenged him on the ground that would later become the Jherrazad desert and reduced him to nothing but a skeleton with his hellfire breath. Breaking off the skull of the skeleton and laying it down before Quan Chi's feet, Scorpion had avenged his family and clan and returned to the Netherealm which he remains as a loyal servant of Quan Chi.
