History:

He passed the temple steps and straight into the tower’s base and passed the frozen guardian into the main threshold of the Tower. Demons awaited him but it didn’t take long for the oldest son of Sparda to dismantle them with his Devil arm the Yamato. In fact... he hit the ground running as he followed Arkham’s exact directions into the control room to the tower. There, waiting for him was a doppelganger of himself... clad in red with pale skin and purple veins running through his face. Red eyes peering back into the cerulean orbs of the Dark Slayer. “I am not impressed...” He wasted no time going to battle with the clone, the battle was even for a while until vergil implored a freshly learned technique upon the mirrored image. A ring of Phantom Blades surrounded the thing causing it to become distracted just as Vergil finished it off with a Dimensional Slash. “You’re a fool if you think you stood a chance... Begone!” The final click of his devil arm entering into it’s sheath and the doppelganger exploded into smoke.
With that finished, He reached into his pocket, pulling out an ancient artifact given to him by Arkham. A key to awakening the tower. He placed it in it’s proper place.

With the Tower now unlocked they only needed to go through the locks and seals and break them. Then the power of Sparda would be his... once he defeated Dante that was. It didn’t take long for the both of them, Arkham had the artifacts and enchantments, along with the knowledge of the tower. Which often came in handy as Arkham soon set up the defenses of the tower, the Guardians Sparda had sealed within the Tower. But that pesky Devil copy came back when it came to implementing the last part. Again they went to battle and although it was much more challenging than their last confrontation... Vergil still proved the victor. “You could never hope to beat a true son of Sparda.” The last instrument was completed, now all that mattered was a few locks and seals, before the final one... he needed to wait for Dante. And he did just that atop the Temin-Ni-Gru. It would be their first show down in over a year...
Dante had finally accepted the Devil inside, but it didn’t matter. He had all that he needed for the final seal to be unlocked, and to awaken the demon world. He followed Arkham... but soon Arkham’s usefulness would come to an end, he could already tell that the man had become soft... Hesitating to kill that woman. Traveling deep into the tower’s depths the two finally came to the final gate. Arkham began to work...
He walked through the doors, however once again that insistent doppelganger stood in his way. It was nigh time he dealt with it once and for all. This form however, was quite possibly the fiercest he had faced yet but after the hard battle... he disposed of the clone, hopefully for the last time. He walked into the chamber of Judgement to complete the final ritual...
Now all he needed to do was wait... but he was growing impatient...
The battle was feirce and demanding, it would seem by Dante awakening his Devil side he became much more than a worthy foe. But it was only about to get worse...
Vergil regained consciousness within the dark abyss. Arkham would pay... He traversed the darkness of the Abyss, coming across his annoying doppelganger once more. “I will put an end to you... Once and for all!” Vergil didn’t take long to lead into an attack fighting the doppelganger and over powering it with his demonic form and destroying for the final time, he was teleported just outside of the ancient library... It was time to go after Arkham. He traverse the tower finally getting to the top, where he and his brother had last laid eyes on one another. There was no time to waste... Dante was already fighting Arkham who know held the power of Sparda, and losing.
For the twins, the battle wasn’t too difficult, their power and skill greatly outmatched that of Arkham even if he did infact have the power of Sparda running through his veins. The poor fool met his fate very poorly.
Now it came down to the final battle, the demon world all around them as the two brothers now stared down one another... Their father’s sword within his hands. This was going to be the deciding battle at this very moment...
He couldn’t lose, no matter what he couldn’t lose. He had to pull out everything in this fight holding back nothing... he threw himself at his brother an intense and insane battle taking place both siblings not holding back on one another while matching each other’s moves with counters. It was certainly the hardest battle Vergil had ever had with his brother, emotions of the past, of their childhood squabbles and the like swelling up inside of him but something was wrong... Dante was gaining the upper hand. It all came down to one decisive attack.
It was in that black abyss that he was teleported to some unknown region of the Demon World, what stood off in the backdrop was three glowing red orbs connected by electricity... Even before the Prince of Darkness... Vergil didn’t waver.
Ultimately, Vergil lost to Mundus... It would feel like years, being subjected to Mundus’ torment and torture before finally Vergil succumbed to the Lord of the Demon World’s will. Mundus then erased Vergil’s memory and turned him into his Dark Knight, Nelo Angelo. He served faithfully until the day his brother decided to enter Mallet island and he was sent to stop him...
Though Nelo Angelo held the upper hand once he laid eyes on that Amulet... memories began to flood back, and Mundus’ control was slowly slipping from Vergil. Mundus acted quickly, teleporting the Dark Angel away and controlling him before Mundus’ spell could completely break. The two fought once more, Mundus beleiving his spell not broken this time... but the damage was done, Vergil’s memories were returned, and with it, his humanity... There was just one last fight that would decide it. In this fight... If his brother won... he would give Dante the key to destroying Mundus once and for all.
Mundus’ curse was finally defeated, along with Nelo Angelo. Vergil was freed, but he was returned to the Demon world, his amulet and Yamato lost... It would be years before he escaped, and years more until he got his father’s keepsake sword returned. In the years and days that followed... Vergil’s entire story would remain a mystery. That was until a few days ago... He arrived within Kari after being teleported to this world. He could feel Dante somewhere within the area... “Another trick? Well... better make the most of it.”
