Born to a wizarding family Luna lost her mother at a young age when her mother was experimenting with a spell. She began to attend Hogwarts in 1992 where she had been sorted in Ravenclaw where those of wit and intelligence would find their kind, she would also become friends with Ginny Weasley. She met with Harry Potter during her fourth year where they became fast friends due to the fact that she was one of a handful of people who believed that Voldemort, an evil wizard, had returned going as far as having Harry’s testimony published in her father’s magazine when the official wizarding newspaper refused to let Harry’s story be published due to the interference of the Ministry of Magic. She also participated in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries along with several other people, over time she became friends with Harry Potter being one of the few people he could trust on.
She was also a member of Dumbledore’s Army, an underground group dedicated to learning about Defence Against the Dark Arts when an incompetent teacher attended Hogwarts at the same time as Voldemort’s rise. This then turned into an organised resistance against Voldemort’s army when it occupied Hogwarts following a major coup against the magical government. Luna then participated in the final battle against Voldemort where she fought alongside Harry Potter, Ginny Weasley, Ron Weasley, Nevile Longbottom, Hermione Granger and others with the war concluded when Voldemort was destroyed by Harry Potter in an epic duel.
Despite the peace that would reign after the death of the Dark Lord Luna’s adventure had not yet finished. When she was walking alone during the celebratory feast a portal opened up beside her, curious she went to investigate it, but was then sucked into the portal before being dropped in an unknown area. Unfazed by the situation she simply took it as a sign of an adventure brewing and dreamily went off to see what would happen.
