The first thing Loki took note of upon his appearance in the desert land of Jhezzarad was the terrible heat. There was nothing like this on Asgard, nor had he visited any realm that had heat like this. Of course, he hadn't visited every realm. The Mischief God glanced around the area, watching as portals suddenly opened and a variety of hellish creatures stepped out. Ah yes, it was the demons he'd heard so much about. Loki watched as they approached, their intent clear.
Loki was unafraid of the creatures. He knew that his powers would be more than enough to defeat the beasts. Loki raised his hands and fired a blast of powerful magical energy at one of the demons. Upon impact the blast exploded, sending the first of five demons flying back into a wall. The wall crumbled as the demon hit it. With a wave us his hand, the wall repaired itself. As Loki was doing this, a demon charged towards him and pounced. Loki raised his sceptre and stabbed the demon in the chest.
But just as he was doing that, more hellish portals opened, making way for even more demons to stream out. Loki's eyes narrowed. He was sure that he could handle this. Entirely sure that his magical ability was enough to destroy each and every one of these demons. Pulling his sceptre from the demon's corpse, Loki prepared for battle.

Slowly he stirred. The eyes of the mighty Thunderer cracked open. He stared at the sky overhead, blinking dubiously at the sight of not one, but two suns in the sky overhead. He remained there, laying dumbly amid the sand...before he felt it. It stirred at the edge of his mind, gnawing incessantly until he sat bolt upright, recognizing the feeling. It was Loki. That particular brand of magic and sorcery he had sensed so many times before. He was up on his feet, arm outstretched to one side and in a dead sprint before one could blink. Mjolnir slammed into his open palm a heartbeat later, and his hand closed about it as he leapt up, leaving the desert sand below him.
Like a bolt of lightning he rocketed across the sky and came down amidst the demons and sand before Loki. The sand immediately near him was glassed and shattered by his impact, and the force of his landingthrew up a great cloud of dust and sand. But then lightning crackled around Mjolnir, and with a flurry of motion, a dozen demons were rendered unto dust by a single swing of the enchanted hammer, another dozen electrocuted until they were but ash by bolts of lightning that arced from the hammer.
"Brother." He turned his head to stare over his shoulder at Loki. "I trust you are well."

Another demon approached Loki at lightning pace, dropping to all fours and charging with his large horns forward. The Mischief God brought a hand up. As his hand rose so did a wall of pure magical energy. As he made a pushing motion with his hand the wall flew forward and collided with the demon. The wall of magical energy continued forward, incinerating the demon as it passed through it. The wall eventually faded, allowing more demons to approach him. Loki scowled, backing up slightly as he raised his sceptre and fired off three blasts at the demons. The blasts went straight through the demons, leaving holes in their chests.
But, Loki was far outnumbered and though his power was great, these demons simply kept coming. Although he certainly would have liked to believe that he could defeat the demons, he was growing unsure that he could defeat all of them alone. Just as he was about to decide to flee if things became too hard, he sensed a presence he hadn't expected to sense for a long while. It was Thor, his 'brother' and foe. In mere moments, the Thunderer had landed in front of his brother and took out a dozen demons with one swing of his enchanted hammer. Loki scowled, watching as the demons began to step back in fear of his brother.
"...Thor." He said, in greeting. Loki was unsure of what his brother's presence meant for his plans to conquer this world. It likely did not bode well. Thor and the Avengers had stopped him twice before in the past. Suddenly, more portals opened in front of the two. "Perhaps we should focus on the demons before we speak."

His eyes flashing with the lightning he commanded, Thor turned back from his brother to face the demons before them. "Aye," he responded simply. "We shall deal with them first." He spun Mjolnir in his grip once, and the head of the hammer lit up with a powerful crackling aura of lightning. He adopted a wide stance, leading with his free left hand, and surged forward into the retreating demons, ignoring the portals that opened all about him, literally fencing him in.
He waited until he was wholly surrounded before he came to a halt. And then the Scion of Asgard laid about him with Mjolnir in a furious series of strikes. He moved with a practiced ease born of eons of combat, his movements blending savage and refined into a dazzling display of battle. All the while his mind was occupied with an endless loop of thoughts. He was, of course, glad to see his Brother once more, even in these strange circumstances. But he suspected all the same that Loki would be up to no good all too soon. And as much as he disliked fighting against his own family, he would have no choice....
Such were the thoughts in the mighty Thunderer's mind as he bashed and destroyed an ever-widening ring in the demons about him, piling up an ever higher mountain of ash and bodily scraps and pieces.
