She wasn't meant to venture outside of Essancee. The forest was as far as the others allowed her to travel, telling her that she was too young to explore the outside world. They should have known better than to insist she wasn't ready. Because the more they insisted the more she persisted that she was. And late at night when everyone else was asleep Deedlit snuck out of the city and through the forest. Going in the opposite direction where Ignis was known to be and followed down a dirt road along unmarked terrain as she noticed the blood red sky up above.
"Was the sky always like that?"
She didn't recall it. Not one bit. Deedlit continued down the dirt road until she saw a city up in the distance. Her curious nature getting the better of her as she continued towards it to see what it was. But the moment the entrance of the city became clear she saw before her several goblins clad in ebony black armor and with bright yellow eyes staring her down as they raised their daggers towards her. Whatever this city was it was completely made up of goblins and orcs.
She should have stayed home today.
