Searching (Le Open)

[Ira]

*The woman made her way along one of the bridges, her red heels making a bit of noise with each step. The color of her shoes though slightly fading due to the nature itself of this area. Sweat dotted her face and occasionally she would raise a hand to use her sleeves to lightly pat away the sweat. Sometimes, her hand was raised simply to ensure her hair still remained in place. Moments like this, when dealing with intense heat, made her thankful that her kimono's neck line was so low; kept her cool. However, despite this heat, she kept her head covered, beads on and keeping the cover in place.

And though the heat and the lava of this area would certainly turn others away, the Ninetails was only thrilled to see it here. If only it had been an island. If only. It could have been its new home. It still was a likely candidate though.

Jecht stopped looking over the lava. Hell he supposed or maybe the Farplanes. Sure was hot here. He frowned gald his bandana was catching most of the sweat from his head. He planted his sword into the ground. How did he get himself into these messes? He had tried to control Sin. He really had, but it had been to much for him. The only times he had been able to control it had been when he heard the Hymn and when he brought Tidus to Spira. He planted his sword in the ground as he eyed the area.

”Why the hell does it have to be so hot around here?” he muttered to himself. He would sit down and take a break if there was a place that didn't look like it would hurt to stop. Maybe if he kept going he'd find somewhere to sit down. He picked his sword up thrusting it into the ground a fair distance before leaning at it. If he was in hell they could at least give him wonder. Maybe even build a Blitzball stadium. Wouldn't that be something? A real riot. He might even be able to get people to visit. He sighed after a few minutes before picking up his sword to carry on. Best not to linger.

The priestess simply continued to walk, fanning herself with a hand of hers. Each step she took, small and petite, like a proper woman of course. However, that was when she heard a voice of a man, apparently talking to himself, asking about the heat. Well, that much was obvious; lava. Tends to be hot. Tends to keep people away and gone.

"I am guessing it is because of the lava," she chuckled softly at Jecht's comment. Her voice sweet and soft, gentle. "Perhaps it would be too much trouble for you to tell me where it is we are though? I do believe I am lost and dreadfully far from my home."

Jecht only lightly turned his head as someone spoke to him. Smartass. Though it seemed that there was someone else here too. Was that a good thing or a bad thing? He supposed it depended on where he was actually. ”Yeah? No kidding.” he said sarcastly. He knew that much from his own eyes. He frowned at her second words. Far from her home. So that probably ruled out the Farplanes he was sure. Might rule out hell as well, but it wasn't at all impossible.

He took in her look. Sure he noticed, but he wasn't going to let his thoughts keep on it. He was after all a happily married man, with a very unhappy kid, but then again couldn't have everything. He was close though. Fame, in two worlds, a beautiful wife. Now if only he could get his son on board. He slowly shook his head at the thought. Letting his thoughts linger in his mind would be the same thing would be damn close to cheating. So he noted it and moved on. ”I can't say I know that. I was hoping you could tell me. Names Jecht.” he said offering her his name and his hand to shake. Well at least so far he wasn't being locked in a prison cell. Better then his entrance to Spira.

"Oh," Rao said softly, seemingly sadden by his answer. The eye uncovered by her hair traveled downward. "A pity," she muttered, bowing her head. Rao sighed though looked back up at him as he gave his name.

"A pleasure to meet you Jecht," she said, offering a weak smile. It took a moment, but she finally accepted his hand with both of her rather petite hands, shaking it gently. "I am Rao, a priestess...Though I cannot find my temple near here and Sei'an is nowhere to be found, it seems." Another sigh escaped her as she looked around.

"I wonder if this is the work of demons as they have plagued Sei'an and Ryoshima's coast recently."

A priestess? Spira had those. Sei’an and Ryoshima? Definitely not the Far planes then. He also noted she said demons, not fiends or unsent. So not even Spira then, which begged the question where were they exactly? He frowned. ”Not Spira and not where you’re from…..I suppose you just got here too?” he asked her. Well they could travel together until they had some sort of an idea where they were. That would be his next offer. New world, new rules. Who knew what was out here.

He smiled lightly. Maybe he’d get a decent fight here, but it wasn’t high on his list to be honest. It’d be nice, but it’d be more relaxing to avoid that kind of thing altogether However if it came down to it he wasn’t going to avoid doing whats right because it was inconvinent. ”If that’s the case it might be better to travel together until we reach somewhere….habitable.” he finished. Just how big was this, and more importantly how long could they last here?

It offered a nod in reply to him. "Yes, I have only been here for a little while. Just aimlessly wandering, hoping maybe to return home," the priestess said softly. As if. If this place had no Amaterasu, then what reason would it have to return home? Rao tilted her head to the side at his offer, seemingly a bit taken aback by it.

"Are you sure? I don't want to infringe on your travels or possibly be a burden to you." Well, at least it potentially had a snack if need be.

Looking to return home. Like him then. He was glad he had offered. Maybe they could find some information on their way. Maybe something to help both of them get back on. Jecht waved a hand to dismiss her concern. It wasn't as if either of them knew where they were going, besides if anything arose it might be better to work in a group rather then try to tackle things alone, especially if this place had anything like Sin, but if it did.....Their best option would be to run, fast and quick.

”Well, it's better this way. Besides it's only until we reach civilization. Unless it ends up being more then whats expected.” he said. If that was the case, maybe they'd stick together until they found a few leads or better yet people that they knew. He wondered if anyone else from Spira was here. Oh right, he'd be the whole hero thing if there was he supposed. Not that he really minded that. Still better get moving. He quickly looked around. Damn lava. No real way to tell where to go. He had come from one way and she from another. ”Right, any ideas where too?” he asked. Maybe she might have some ideas.

"Uh. Well. I don't know honestly. I just was kind of here. I apologize." If only she had not lost that tablet, this lava would be nothing. However, such was not the case here and nor did she want to begin demonstrating some of her abilities here. Not just yet. The ninetails pulled a few slips of large paper from the inside of her dress as apparently tucking these slips of paper in with her chest in that dress was nothing foreign to her at all. She set to fanning herself with the papers marked with odd designs though as she looked around.

"I didn't see any large groups of people on my way here. I'm guessing you didn't either. So, perhaps let us try a path which neither one of us has taken already?" A smile was offered after she finished speaking though she continued to fan herself with her papers.

Jecht frowned. He had been hoping at the very least she been here at least a little longer then he had. He supposed however that was a little much to ask for. ”Yea. Or else I would've followed them.” he said. Of course that went without saying. Jecht frowned. That had always of course been the plan. ”Yea, that had been the plan. I was starting to think I had died out here. You're the first person I've met here. Long story.” he said. It really was a long story if someone thought about it. Something he really didn't want to get into right now. He was still sweating but the bandanna was catching it from getting into his eyes fortunately. He sighed. ”Best to start walking then.” he said picking up his sword before continuing on his way after making sure she was following.

She gave a nod and started walking forward, not pushing to question his story. It didn't matter to her at all. Their stories never mattered. Always the same and it always ended the same. "I came from the forested area. Apparently there are elves there?" Not like she knew what elves were or cared what they were for that matter.

She continued to fan herself with her papers. This form could not handle the heat that well compared to its normal one. She reached up and pulled down her hood as she walked forward with her short quick steps. This place would be perfect to be its domain. It just needed to have its tower rebuilt here. But a bit of exploration did not seem to be a terrible idea at all, become familiar with what it would be attempting to rule.

Eleves? The hell was an elf? Something for another time he supposed. Still if nothing better came along then they could always turn back and head that way. ”I just got here, so I'm not sure how much help I can be with direction.” he said. He literally meant he had just got here. Just been wondering around for a few minutes before he had ran into her. ”So, what exactly are eleves?” he asked a little curious. If he was here he might as well learn a little about where he was if it seemed he was going to be staying here.

The woman shrugged her shoulders. "I haven't a clue. I'm used to dealing with Imps and other minor demons, not once have I heard the mention of elves, I'm sorry to say." Rao continued walking. During this time though, she continued to fan herself, but not sweat ever showed on her brow. No sweat ever showed at all. Her steps remained petite and lady-like all along the way. She didn't have much to say after all, but might as well as make conversation. "So, where are you from? What do you do?"

Imps? Another unfamiliar term to him unfortunatly. He blinked as he ran a hand through his hair. Where to start with that one. ”Blitzball player, star, guairdian.” he said shrugging. Really it depended on where he was. Here he didn't know if any of those would mean anything. He had to relearn everything about this world it seemed. ”I guess a better way to put it would be I'm famous.” he simply stated turning his head. He wasn't quite sure what to make of his new traveling companion. ”What about you. Whats your story? Whats the Priestess thing about?” he aked her a little curious.
