Secret Guardian (OPEN)

The lush forest was, for once, silent as it seemed to hold its breath while the chatter of animals and Pokemons went on. The sun was high and bright and there seemed to be a good day, there was no sign of any intrusion in this peaceful and serene forest, but even so high above the canopy of trees floating above it was a secret guardian that not many people ever had the luck to see.

Mewtwo had his eyes closed as he continued to sense if there were any disturbances around the area, although this forest was home to the Elven people he had not interacted with them yet, he saw no reason to and it was better that he protected the Pokemons from the shadows rather then openly doing so. Although what happened at New Island opened his eyes that not all humans were evil as Team Rocket he still mistrusted them and thus he had decided to remain an figure in these forests. anymonous

He thought that the forest was the perfect place for the Pokemons to breed under, it was lush and beautiful and had plenty of food for them to eat, being also isolated from the world it was more then adequate for their survival in this new world as Mewtwo opened his eyes and began to fly high above the trees where no one would be able to see him waiting for anything that would require his intervention.

The landscape was green, similar to Spira in appearance. However, the feeling he felt told him it was not Spira. The farplane seemed to be non existent here, the place he was constantly aware of until now. It simply was non existant and it ate at him. He found himself hard to keep his spiritual composure to look normal as he was slightly transparent with pyreflies circling his form. Regular animals treated him as any outsider and ran off scared, but not the strange ones he thought was native here. These instead looked at him with intelligent observant looks that quickly shifted to confused look. They began talking, but Auron's ear caught that each one were saying only one word.. but it was speach nevertheless.

One of the creatures eventually came up him and tugged at his cloak to see if he was real, and released a sigh of relief when it realized he was real. The other creatures seemed to... smile? It was strange, but perhaps they knew what he was? A regular person could not tell him different from a normal warrior monk. However... he sensed something else, similar to these creatures but much much more. What could it be?

Mewtwo stirred as he sensed someone that he had not sensed before, it was not one of the Elves that roam this land and live upon it, it was a human feeling but one that posed no threat to either the land or the inhabitants that live on it and it certainlly was not a threat to the Pokemons. Although Mewtwo liked his privacy and he rarely talked to humans, letting them even go near the Pokemons as long as they did not attack them, though if they were trainers he would perhaps see if they were as strong as the ones that defeated him on New Island, he decided that perhaps he would like to know what lies beyond this land.

He had not yet visited the other lands simply because he saw no need to do so, he was content in where he was now and being a guardian of the Pokemons was a task that he had accepted, all he knew of the outside world was the firey mountains but other then that it was a complete mystery to him. Perhaps this human would be useful in providing that information, if not then perhaps he could simply have a talk to him and ask him what he was doing here.

He shot off from the sky and landed lightly in the forest before he began to walk towards the human, it was a man with black hair and wearing strange clothes as well as holding a very big sword, certainly not a trainer but perhaps a warrior. He was surprised to find that the Pokemons seemed to be happy around the warrior, usually they would flee even from the Elven people, this piqued Mewtwo's interest even more, 'They seem to like you...how strange' he telepathically said in the man's head, 'normally they would have run from humans.'

'They seem to like you...how strange', a voice said in his head, 'normally they would have run from humans.'

"What are they? And what are you? These arn't the usual fiends we find in Spira...", He asked the creature. It looked humanoid to a point and was grey colored. It had a large tail and three fingers. From the voice in his head, he generalized the voice to be undoubtedly masculine. Perhaps this one did not know what he was, but Auron may understand why. He was human, but humans are mortal.... and his mortal form died. His spirit did not yield to death and flee to the farplane with other souls, but yet... he had to fulfill a promise to a friend. He promised to look after Jecht's son... Tidus.. but how? He was stuck on this world!

What they saw and felt was his soul made solid with the help of pyreflies, a mystical and mysterious creature often around when spirits were. To those who know how, he could be read like a book. The creatures no doubt sense a calm, protectiveness from Auron. That maybe why they trusted him. but would the other one trust him? "I was human....... my name is Auron", he said.

[Mewtwo]

'They are called Pokemons, creatures from another world so it is expected that you do not recognise them'Mewtwo replied, 'as for me...I am called Mewtwo, I am the guardian of these Pokemons' though in reality he had not really been assigned that role but he felt that it was right that he should be the one defending them in the absence of an actual defender, if he was in his world then he would not have cared and simply would have left them to their own devices. But he knew how dangerous a sudden change can be and he was lucky that they arrived at a place which is protected by other similar-minded individuals even if they believed in something else entirely.

However Mewtwo then looked at Auron as he said that he was human, indicating that he was a human once, that was strange to the Pokemon as he wondered what he meant by that, 'What do you mean that you were once human...if you are not human then what are you?' he asked.

There are those who believe in fate, and those that don't. Auron did believe in fate, but not in a world where fates contradicted each other. In cirumstances like these, it is safe to call it a coincidence. He couldn't help but chuckle briefly at this before answering the question. "I am what's left after my human --- mortal--- body died. My spirit refused to go to the farplane, our world's afterlife, and stayed to fulfill a promise I once made when I was alive. When I was alive... I was a guardian as well... and these pokemon can sense that... can you?"

The man was already dead? He was a spirit? Such a strange thing to have happened as Mewtwo wondered if this was what happened to all humans when they died? He had heard of Ghost-type Pokemons and sometimes he did wonder if they came into existence from the souls and spirits of deceased Pokemons or from the souls of humans. But he could appreciate the promise that Auron made and he understood what it meant to be a guardian, 'Indeed they can...if you are a guardian then perhaps they feel that you will protect them as I have in this world' Mewtwo replied.

Auron let out a small chuckle before becoming serious once more. Auron took the sword he carried and stuck it in the ground with his hand upon the handle. The pokemon jumped back a little in slight surprise. The gesture was a serious one, and the pokemon understood it, with their faces full of dissapointment. "I made a promise to a friend.... a friend I held dear.. and I must fulfill that promise. However... I also must all I find from a grimly fate", he said mainly directed to the pokemon, who became happy once more.

Mewtwo eyed the sword as he wondered if the man was going to use it, although he did not like to attack humans out of nowhere he would defend himself if it came to that, the Pokemons jumped in surprise and took a step back as Mewtwo's aura glowed purple in anticipation of an attack. Auron then said that he had to fulfil a promise to a friend but then seemed to show no threat as the Pokemons became happy again making Mewtwo wonder what that was all about just now...'And what promise is that?' he asked.
