Rose led Meryl to her car and stepped inside as she looked back at the conflict by the courthouse in her rear view mirror. They had only managed to escape death thanks to the betrayal of Wesker, and they were only able to get through the soldiers outside the courthouse thanks to none of them knowing the guilty verdict has already been declared. Isafaro would be busy dealing with the recent traitor as the Isafaro Resistance and that known Spokesman character may very well capitalize on the situation. Drawing her cellphone Rose began to take off down the street while calling Drake White. "Drake. Something happened in the courthouse. One of the judges there turned on Vulture and we were barely able to escape with our lives after Meryl was declared guilty. We need somewhere to meet. Now."

This was it. She was a criminal on the run now as far as Vulture was concerned. She wasn't sure where she would go from here but she hoped the General didn't make it out of that courthouse alive. Whoever that man in shades was, she hoped he killed the General. Nothing would make her happier then to hear the news that General Vulture was dead. That would be his karma for discarding a loyal devoted soldier so casually like he did with her. Even if she was just a Private. Meryl remained silent in the car waiting to hear word on where they would meet and wondering where they would go from here.

"Drake. Something happened in the courthouse. One of the judges there turned on Vulture and we were barely able to escape with our lives after Meryl was declared guilty. We need somewhere to meet. Now."
“I'm guessing the trial didn't go well.”
Drake was still in the alley looking for more evidence that put Kailix at the scene of the crime but so far managed to turn up nothing but if Meryl was already found guilty by the judges then there was little point of continuing the search. Also little point in Drake staying as a member of the Vulture's military.
“If that's the case you need to get Meryl out of town. There's a tavern outside the city's limits we can meet up at to decide what to do next.”

Rose looked over at Meryl for a moment as she stepped inside before looking away again while talking with Drake. When he suggested taking Meryl out of town she thought he was finally losing his marbles. "How am I supposed to leave the city with a wanted felon? There are checkpoints everywhere by the exits."

Hearing that Drake was suggesting to Rose that they leave town she shot a glance at Rose before speaking. "I am NOT leaving this city. I am NOT allowing that man to run me out of town so you can tell Drake that I am not going anywhere!" Her stubbornness was beginning to shine through as she would sooner die by the Vulture then be ran out and forced to hide like a coward. If they wanted to come looking for her then she'd be waiting. If they were going to label her a traitor then that's what she'll be. A traitor.

"How am I supposed to leave the city with a wanted felon? There are checkpoints everywhere by the exits."
“Capitalize on the distraction made by our little guest judge.”
"I am NOT leaving this city. I am NOT allowing that man to run me out of town so you can tell Drake that I am not going anywhere!"
Drake heard Meryl in the background and couldn't help but smile. He had a feeling she would back down from running away and it was that fighting spirit that attracted Drake to her in the first place, it was similar to Ayanna in that respect. Ayanna... Drake had no idea where she was and he worried about her but right now he had to worry about the woman still in town.
“No need, Rose. I hear her loud and clear. In that case take her to Sector 4. It was recently liberated thanks to our beloved Spokesman of Insanity. Rumor has it the Isafaro's Resistance is also stationed there. Meryl should be safe from the Vulture's talons in that sector and have plenty of people who hate the General just as much as she does. Be careful though, people have been rioting and bringing in all sorts of crazies. Nothing compared to the Spokesman but still pretty bad.”

Rose responded to Meryl's sharp look with a sharp look of her own. "It isn't safe for you here. If there's a way we can get you out of town and as far away from Isafaro as humanly possible then we should take it." After saying that she resumed her phone call with Drake. "How bad did the judge attack everything?"

That just wasn't going to happen as far as Meryl was concerned. She snatched the cellphone away from Rose's ear and held it up to her own so she could learn where she could go that didn't involve leaving the city. "Where can we meet up? I'm not leaving the city."

"How bad did the judge attack everything?"
“Reports coming in are stating that the Red Queen and Novalith Cannon has been destroyed. Unfortunately Zee Captain survived the space platform exploding– I mean... Fortunately Zee Captain survived the space platform exploding. General Vulture called in the Black Army to deal with the situation. So it's bad.”
"Where can we meet up? I'm not leaving the city."
“It's good to hear your voice, babe. Like I told Rose, go to Sector 4. It's been liberated by the Spokesman of Insanity and the Vulture's Resistance has been seen spotted there but be careful. Riots, crazies, the whole nine yards. I'll meet you there. If Vulture declared you guilty then I'm finished with them.”

"The Black Army?" Rose could feel the goosebumps shooting down her body now at the mere word of the mercs that Vulture had hired not too long ago before the cellphone was snatched away by Meryl who wanted to know where to go next as she refused to leave the city. "Meryl. Please. I'm begging you to reconsider."

"Drake..." There was so much she wanted to say to him. To think, now that it was certain the Vulture had turned its back on her, he was still willing to go through with turning his back on them. She was touched but now was no time to get into this here. It was a conversation best suited for when they were face to face. "Right. I'll meet you there." Meryl hung up the phone and then handed it back to Rose. "Take me to Sector 4. Now. We haven't got much time."

"Drake..."
“Now ain't the time, sweetheart.”
"Right. I'll meet you there."
“Bye.”
Drake hanged up his cell right after Meryl did and tucked it away inside his jeans back pocket as he headed for the exit of the military base. Of course he was stopped at the door by two guards.
“Where do you think you're going?” they asked.
“I'm handing in my resignation.”
“You're not going anywhere.”
“I feel you. I really do. However...”
BANG! BANG! Faster than either one of them could see or react Drake drew the golden tiger striped Desert Eagle and shot both of them dead.
“Mr. Deagle disagrees.”
Swapping out the Desert Eagle for his long sword Drake kicked opened the entrance and began fighting his way through the soldiers on the other side.
Nothing was stopping him from reaching Meryl.

Rose could only shake her head at Meryl's decision to stay. She was stubborn, just like her father. Of course if she said that out loud she'd never hear the end of it and this was shaping up to be a rather long drive. Starting up the car Rose pulled out of the parking lot and took off for Sector 4.
